The view from the cabin was exceptional. Exactly as described. Very private and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, even had champagne glasses! And everything was very clean. Howard was very responsive as well. The only downside was getting there was a bit tricky. We weren’t quite sure if we would ever get to the top of the mountain. I guess that’s what makes the view worth it! Luckily, we printed Howard‘s very detailed directions and were able to find it. Perfect weekend getaway.

We absolutely loved our stay. Beautiful location that felt very peaceful and our daughter loved all of the amenities. We'll definitely be back.

This cabin was the perfect setting for a much-needed getaway for us. Beautiful cabin, super clean, and so tastefully appointed. I can't recommend this place enough. I won't lie, the road getting to the cabin was a bit sketchy, and I'm glad they recommended 4 wheel drive to get there, but it had been graded by the time we left so it was much smoother. We'll definitely be back and have already recommended it to several friends

Good place right on the New River. The valley is very quiet and secluded with only a few single family homes and vacation cabins scattered up and down the side slopes. Very casual and easy check-in. Kitchen and house very well equipped for lots of cooking and activities and entertainment. Hot tub was great. Very easy and ample space to roam for folks with pets. If you have a very low clearance vehicle like a corvette or something, check on bridge first, but 99% of vehicles will be fine even as crazy as it looks especially after Helene(notably, their bridge was one of the only small private bridges left after Helene that we saw). Want to come back in the summer one day for some tubing, perfect spot for it.

Jeremy’s home was beautiful!! My favorites part were the view and the peaceful area. Everything was perfect. He did warn me about the driveway being steep and it was a trek up the mountain but so worth it!

Our second time staying at Appalachian A-frame and it was just as nice as we remembered. Close to Boone but felt secluded. Comfy house. Emily was super responsive - We had a pretty crazy mountain storm and lost power for a couple hours and Emily kept us updated with what the power company was saying. We love to stay here.

Martina's cabin was nice and secluded. She is great at communication if you have any questions. We really enjoyed the big screen tv and fireplaces. My daughter loved the bunk beds. It was nice to have a washer and dryer as well.

This was our first time at this Airbnb. My husband and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. This was exactly what we were looking for. Remote, peaceful and relaxing. Nothing but cattle farms on rolling hills as far as the eye can see. Amy was a perfect host and the fresh eggs and meats from their farm were amazing. We will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is beautiful and private. Can’t wait to visit again in warmer weather and really explore the area. Cabin is super cozy and has everything you need.

Lovely cabin and a relaxing stay- just what my husband and I needed. Rachel was so quick in response times and it was so nice to arrive to music playing and lights on.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for the week of New Years. We wanted to get away from everything for the new year and celebrate with just the 2 of us. This property provided exactly what we were looking for. You can still see the effects from the hurricane but you can see how hard they are working to get everything back to normal but nonetheless the property is still beautiful and peaceful. We are already discussing to come back in the spring or summer to experience this beautiful property in the summer. I highly recommend anyone stay here.

Peaceful retreat with a wonderful front porch

We had a great time. Quiet and peaceful. Dennis and Kate were great. Farm was really nice and easy to get around. lots of friendly animals. Will come back.

We went for the rustic cabin experience and were pleasantly surprised by a heated toilet seat. With the devastating hurricane prior to our stay, Patricia graciously offered us a no charge cancellation. We appreciated the offer and constant updates and communication.

I truly do not have enough nice words to say about our stay at Amber’s cottage. Prior to check in Amber was super helpful and proactive by letting us know they took some extra time to work on the road into the cottage after it rained which made it extremely easy for us to get in and out in our non 4x4 vehicle. Once we got to the cabin we were wowed by the thought put into the place. Truly everything you could need in the bathroom, kitchen, etc is already there for you. On top of all that the bed is extremely comfortable, we slept so well! The area wowed us as well - we had perfect weather and we enjoyed a fire at night and looking at the stars, riding a side by side off road at Doe Mountain, and trying some of the amazing local restaurants. Thank you for letting us stay, we will definitely be back!!!

Tremendous stay! This home is perfect, extremely beautiful sun rises & sunsets... kitchen and living room are perfect. This cabin is wonderful and we recommend this stay to anyone! Gorgeous drive to the home, and very private. Thank you both again. 10\10 stay!

Glad I found this place. The peaceful water rushing from the stream with small cascades was just awesome from the porch. The hike to the falls was challenging but worth it. The proximity to parks, things to do and places to go, it was within an hour to our top destinations. it was also close to two towns within 25-40 minutes. Will definitely be going back.

Quaint and quiet stop on my way through the area. Cabin was perfect and very lovely.

Throughly enjoyed my stay at Lazy Daze cabin! The location was great. I was traveling solo and felt totally safe. The surroundings were peaceful and woodsy but also minutes away from anything you may need or want to see. Excellent communication and I greatly appreciated all the recommendations that were provided at the cabin in a notebook and also the ones from Gary himself! Can’t wait to come back!

Darren was extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in cabin 3, and it was brand new and clean. Family stayed at a home on the lake and we suggested that they stay at Darren’s place next time down. Can’t beat the price or amenities. Definitely suggest! Just make sure you pull up directions in town since there’s little service, but once there, the wifi is great!

Unfortunately, we were in town for a funeral. However, the drive to and from Bakersville NC was beautiful. We loved the nature / mountain experience surrounding the home. We saw 8 deer our first morning, which was amazing. The cabin was a beautiful place and is wonderfully decorated and well stocked. We loved our stay at Shana's cabin!

great stay over Christmas. some snow on ground, but either way drive up was not bad at all. roads seemed in good condition despite damage from hurricane this fall. ( easier to get in and out coming on rich mountain Rd from 421 than from direction of meat camp Rd, but both doable). everything was explained well in manual. well stocked with kitchen supplies. light switches labeled, which was really nice. everything worked well. spacious hot tub- private with great view. not in view of the neighbors house. any question we had before or during stay was promptly answered. easy check in and check out. air got REALLY dry with fireplace on, so you may want to just use briefly if you're susceptible.
