Achmelvich : locations de vacances en bord de mer

This is the third time I’ve stayed at Jenny & Andy’s ‘The Wee Housie’. From the first time I went, they’ve always been so friendly and welcoming. Staying here, and in Talmine itself is so peaceful, beautiful and relaxing. The property is clean and spotless, and is just the perfect place to relax. If you haven’t stayed here before, I totally recommend it. You won’t want to leave! Thank you Jenny & Andy for having me & my mum stay, and making us feel so welcome!

We had a lovely 3 night stay in Alexa’s cottage. The property is in a great location if you wish to travel further north, it took us less than an hour to get to John O’Groats. There is a walk to the small pebble beach 5 minutes from the cottage. The cottage is by a river which is lovely to listen to at night. Our dog enjoyed the walks nearby. The cottage stays warm and the rain shower js lovely! The living room is small and cosy, with plenty of firewood. The kitchen is stocked with all cutlery and dishes. I would say bring your own tea bags/coffee if you have more than 1 cup a day. Also bring your own shower gel, something we forgot! The hosts are helpful and responsive. Everyone we met nearby were all were kind and friendly people. All in all, a lovely place to stay. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to visit that area.

Amazing space to stay for our trip!! The photos only give a hint at the incredible setting and landscape. Perfect for our family stay and there was nothing that could have been improved. Thank you for making us feel welcome and providing such a great base for us to explore the Highlands. Hope to revisit in the future.

The Oystercatcher is a truly special place - we loved the quiet location and the beautiful views. It was a perfect place to base ourselves for a few days of walking. The accommodation itself is perfect - every amenity necessary was provided. We especially liked the welcome pack with breakfast items including milk and orange juice - a lovely touch. Mags has thought of everything - thank you. We would definitely stay again if visiting Skye.

Just had the most amazing few days here, so we stayed an extra night! Gorgeous cottage, so homely and the hosts have thought of everything. My kids said it's the best holiday they have had. Garden great for dog and nice and secure. Peaceful location yet some many beautiful villages close by with the best beaches. We honestly all loved it and can't wait to come back very soon x

Absolutely beautiful home. Unbelievable location looking out at the pretty harbour. Peaceful but with everything we needed close at hand. Skye is extraordinary. Magical. We loved the Three Chimneys (a special thing) including the one at Talisker (more casual). And Birch was great for coffee. Neist Point, Waternish and Raasay are beautiful in addition to all the well known places. We just had a fantastic time.

Excellent stay in Pauline's immaculate cottage

Ideal studio apartment for a holiday break. Everything had been thought of by Katie. It was clean and tidy and well equipped. Katie even provided the view! Stunning location - it sits directly opposite and very close to the harbour where there is lots of activity. A perfect place to stay.

My wife and our 2 little boys stayed at Gemma’s place for 3 nights. Instructions were great, check-in was easy, the place was spotless and within 50m walk of the beach. Helpfully, all of the things that you need for a short stay but don’t wish to buy especially were also there (eg buckets and spades, dishwasher tablets, toilet rolls, olive oil, soap, tea coffee etc) a great stay - thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at Jennifer’s caravan. The place was spotless, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect, making it easy to explore the area. Jennifer was a fantastic host—friendly, responsive, and always happy to help. Communication was excellent from start to finish. We would highly recommend staying here and would definitely book again in the future!

Beautiful location and gorgeous surroundings to explore - Achmelvich beach not to be missed

A beautifully kitted out caravan which was spotless throughout. Lots of local info, right on the beach. All information was sent in advance and any additional questions were answered quickly. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be back again next year!

Sarah was a fantastic host and really friendly. She kindly delivered new garden furniture which was really appreciated given the lovely weather. A great caravan with everything you need.

Lovely stay at Shirley’s lodge. Caravan was really clean, beds super comfy and lots of games was a bonus. Great to have the bath, washing machine and dishwasher. Place was spotless and loved the decor. One row back from the beach and huge bit of grass at the front for the kids. Great communication from Shirley and we all had a fab time

We had an amazing few days at The Thistle. The van is beautifully kitted out with everything you could possibly need. Everything is catered for, down to cooking oil, tin foil, kitchen roll. All the things that are normally forgotten. The beds were very comfy and linens of a high quality. It was a home from home. The van is right on the shoreline and the beach and views are beautiful. Dornoch is only a few miles away and has some lovely restaurants but there is an onsite restaurant and pub too. Tanya went over and above for our stay and we greatly appreciated it. Was our 2nd time staying at Kevin's place , we absolutely love it, we visit family nearby, enjoy all the amazing beaches, places to visit and eat, bonus on our last morning was watching 2 dolphins right outside while enjoying our coffee ❤️ would highly recommend booking , we certainly will again 😀 😊

Last minute get away, the pod it’s self was absolutely beautiful, warm and well equipped. Easy check in, the private hot tub was a lovely. Shower wasn’t that powerful but it absolutely did the job! Check the safety information if you are allergic to horses. 🫣 it does state that there will be horses close (I clearly didn’t check this before booking, ooops) Although they were no problem at all!! They were far enough away from the pod apart from a blink in the morning so it was absolutely no issue for us really. Overall it is a beautiful place and we highly recommend staying here!! Thanks for a brilliant stay! xx

Beautiful home and Rachael was a great host (hands off but very responsive-just what I like). The location cannot be beat. We had a car but chose to taxi most places. Even our taxi drivers were admiring the location. The hot tub was AMAZING. We got stuck on the island an extra day due to weather conditions impacting ferry crossings. Rachael was able to accommodate an extra nights stay. Although you feel very remote, there are 3 grocery stores within 10 minutes and you have easy access to all of Kirkwall. Favorite part was the neighbor sheep….waking up and looking out to see all the sheep while you get ready was so fun!

We had a fantastic time staying in the yurt. Lisa is a friendly and helpful host who made our stay absolutely wonderful.

Just book Sarah’s place, you won’t be disappointed! The area is one of the prettiest areas we have visited. It’s truly magical. Sarah’s home is wonderful, immediately comfortable and welcoming. There is a beach area just outside for exercising dogs. Everyone we met was so warm and friendly. Thank you Sarah for a wonderful stay.

Ann’s place is an excellent pod with an outdoor hot tub with views over to Skye / Small Isles / Knoydart. It’s a 5 min drive to Mallaig train station / ferry port or a 15 min walk. The pod is great for a couple with a double bed, kitchenette (electric stove/microwave/fridge/sink), and an en-suite with shower/toilet/sink. Ann was a great host, responded quickly, and greeted us/saw us off personally. Great spot for exploring Lochaber coast / Small Isles / Knoydart via ferry from Mallaig.

We had a fabulous Christmas at An Dòbhran. The croft was modern, warm, comfortable, spacious, immaculately clean, the kitchen very well equipped and perfect for 4 adults. Duncan and Shona had left a welcome package of bread, milk and eggs, also a box of chocolates under the tree as a present, very thoughtful. Great communication before hand, Duncan answering all my questions and providing information. I cannot recommend a stay here highly enough, beautiful location, hotel and pub a short walk away, easy access for The Isle of Skye and Eilean Donan. We have stayed around this location many times before, and were very sad to leave.

Our family had a fantastic stay at Margaret’s property. The location is idyllic, the property is comfortable, clean and stocked with everything you could possibly need for your stay. We highly recommend this gorgeous place and excellent host. Thank you for having us!
