What a fab house this is. We stayed for 6 weeks and did not want to leave. Jo was always on hand if we needed anything but the house is so well set up that we rarely did. The location is fab on a quiet back street but a COOP, Indian and nice bar all within a few mins walk. The house is really well presented and has everything you’d need for a short or longer stay. The hot tub is a great addition and the garden feels really private. All the bedrooms are a great size and perfect for couples. I can’t rate this place highly enough! Full 5 stars from us!

We had a great stay at Edward's place. We were a large family group meeting up for New years. The house has lots of character, and is set in beautiful surroundings. The only things I would say that could do with improving would be using one of the rooms as a social space as the kitchen isn't big enough for cooking. eating and socialising. Also, some of the matresses weren't as comfortable as I would hope for which didn't make for a great night's sleep. But overall, it's a lovely house and the host is very welcoming and reaponsive. I would definitely recommend this place for others to stay in.

We have recently returned from staying at this amazing house. Fantastic layout and perfect for a large family or as a group as there are plenty of areas you can go and relax without feeling on top of each other. The garden is huge and clean! It’s enclosed so perfect for dogs. The zip wire was fun , also has a basket ball net and an area for football. The hot tub is amazing ! Initially we expected a very long wait to get it to temperature however we were stunned to find it to temp within an hour and aslong as you keep the lid on after using it then the following day takes about 20 mins to get up and running. The house was spotless, plenty of tvs, Xboxes , Netflix, board games , books the lot. There is no way anybody can complain about what you get with this house. Even including tea,coffee and condiments which is very rare. Beautiful location and an amazing fish and chop shop around the corner. Perfect for visiting York and areas in the northeast. Fantastic stay ,we loved it!

We loved our stay here. The house is beautiful, we especially loved the kitchen. And the hot tub was a welcome bonus

As fabulous as expected. Ideal space for two couples, high spec accommodation with lots of room to relax . The kitchen is small if you intend to self cater but the facilities and equipment are excellent. We spent most of the time sat in the dining room watching the peacocks who wandered up to the window each day to be admired. Played tennis and walked into the nearby village along a public footpath 50 mins to a very good pub ( Dawnay Arms ) and evenings in the hot tub . Thoroughly enjoyed it, the host ( Lucy ) is onsite and is welcoming and supportive with communication without any intrusion . No hesitation recommending.

A lovely lodge in a beautiful and peaceful site. The lodge was well kept and comfortable - we felt right at home straight away. Only regret is not staying longer!

Beautiful place to stay! Perfect location, nice and private and easy to find. Easy to get to York and Harrogate with local recommendations provided. The cottage was pristine with a lovely kitchen, sitting area and garden. Hot tub was perfect with robes, plastic glasses and spare towels provided.

Great accommodation and host

We had a lovely weekend at the cottage, booked as we had plans in the local area. It is a lovely quiet location seemingly in the middle of nowhere. What comes with this is a drive down down a long track which was intersting in the pitch black as we arrived late! The converted barn looks out into a small courtyard, on which the horses are stabled in the adjacent side. The size was perfect for our family of 4, with the 2 kids in a twin on one side of the lounge/kitchen and us in a double on the other side. Phillipa sent excellent instructions on how to get there which were helpful when arriving in the dark, even though we had it on GoogleMaps. We would definitely come back.

Had a lovely stay, made to feel welcome by Pauline and Graham, the nicest couple you could ever meet. They thought of everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable and even included lovely treats as a bonus. Fabulous surroundings with great safe enclosed paddock for our 2 collies to run around, truelly home from home, we will be back next year, already booked, Thankyou so much ☺️

We love Bevs’ place. We are big fans and keep on returning whenever we are in Yorkshire. Totally recommend. What an amazing view!

A great find for our 4-night trip to Yorkshire in terms of location, size and comfort of property. Christina was great, quick to respond to our initial enquiry and making sure we had all we needed but leaving us enjoy our stay.

Well equipped, spacious, clean and characterful property within walking distance of York city centre, but in a quiet neighbourhood away from other tourists! Very well appointed kitchen (with Aga) if you need to cook, comfortable lounge, beds and recently refurbished bathroom/toilet. Roger is a great host and happy to help when required. Excellent all round, the only downsides were the lack of salt and pepper and that parking right outside the house can be tricky. The walk into York is also very picturesque. Highly recommended overall.

Had a great visit! Very fortunate for John to be understanding and allow us to film our final student short film. John was always very quick to answer any questions, he was very understanding of filming which is always appreciated. The location was beautiful with some lovely surrounding scenery. Perfect for a peaceful getaway.

Loved the stay at this airbnb. The hosts were absolutely lovely and the apartment was clean. The location is great as well, so you are not far from a lot of nice places to eat and drink.The hosts did some dog sitting for us as well so that we could go to the museum and were really good with our wee dog. We will definitely be back!

This was our second time at Phils, first time to celebrate my 70th second time for my husbands 75th. When I asked my family where they wanted to celebrate my husbands 75th birthday it was Phils place. Its perfect for our multi-generational family, amples of space and the pool and hot tub are the icing on the cake. We all had the best time and we made lots of memories. Thank you Phil for the use of your lovely home.

We had a lovely weekend staying at Serendipity to visit the Christmas markets in York. The place has everything we needed and more and Rachael had kindly left the heating on for us so we were super cosy when we arrived in the evening too. Very comfortable bed with great pillows and a great power shower - the all important things! Also a lovely extra touch with some treats for us and the dogs, plus milk, tea and coffee. Our 8 year old loved the addition of the XBOX and extra toys to play with too! Thank you so much Rachael! Helen, Dave, Fin, Olive & Gus x

Fabulous garden and location. Beautiful view from the sun room. Great pool, perfect temperature and very comfortable bed. All round lovely clean and quiet place.
