This was a perfect two night getaway with our family. The house is very clean. The views are beautiful. There are lots of things to do in the area not far from the house. We enjoyed taking the short path to the brewery for a couple of meals. The food is great! We sat by the fire and soaked in the hot tub. Martha’s instructions were very easy to follow to check in and checkout. She was very responsive. We appreciate that she also offered plenty of suggestions for things to do in the area. So happy to have stayed in Susanne's home! She was so warm and welcoming at our check-in and was ready to answer questions that I now see were already answered in the posting but I had overlooked hahaha. She was kind nonetheless and was helpful! My husband, 2 year old, parents, mother-in-law, and aunt & uncle stayed the weekend for a nearby wedding. We were so pleased to see that there were toys and books for our son! He absolutely loved the home, especially having ample space outside to play and see the cows too! It was a beautiful and peaceful property! Just a note that I wanted to add for future stays in case it's helpful for anyone planning - the full bathroom upstairs is shared between the single beds (bedroom 3 in the pictures) and the queen (bedroom 4). The double bed (bedroom 2) would have to enter through either of the other two rooms to use that bathroom. And then the downstairs bathroom is the only one downstairs. It worked out perfectly fine for us and our arrangements!

Nice house, plenty of space for our group. Walkable to downtown and Belmont restaurants.

This home was perfect for my husband and I and our two toddlers when we were in Charlottesville for a family wedding. Rick and Emily were very accommodating and helpful, and my kids loved the playroom! Can't recommend this home enough if you're traveling to Charlottesville with young children.

I have stayed in quite a few Airbnb’s… but Golden Hill cottage was truly special. From the friendly greeting from Patricia and her beautiful pup Daisy to the homemade cookies for my boyfriend’s birthday. She made everything feel comfortable and homey. This was the peaceful escape we were looking for to celebrate a special day and take a break from the hustle and bustle of our lives currently. The location is so beautiful… I hope everyone has a chance to experience it. Thank you Patricia … we will be back! ♥️♥️♥️

First ever girls weekend for 4 lifelong friends went GREAT! The location of the home was perfect - so close to many restaurants, wineries & breweries. We also checked out the antique & craft shops! Michele was as quick as humanly possible to respond to & remedy an issue with the front door lock. A wonderful place to stay in Afton (Rt 151)! Thanks!

Ellen’s cabin was super secluded but not too much as there is a market right up the road. The property was very scenic which made for a great weekend getaway. We didn’t get a chance to check out the winery but we’ll definitely be back in the future!

Sarah’s place was absolutely perfect for our weekend getaway with friends! We enjoyed relaxing in the spacious kitchen and living room each evening and the rooms were all great sizes for our stay. Sarah’s communication was very helpful and timely. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again if in the area! Seeing deer walking and squirrels playing in the backyard were added bonuses!

It was a perfect accomodation for my requests. I could do all the cooking I wanted, had my kids visiting me most of the time and remote working was no problem with the great internet connection. A washing machine and dryer were also available and Erin was so kind to provide the washing detergent as well as many other things.

Loved this quaint Airbnb so much. It was clean, well stocked and our host was very easy to communicate with. Gave amazing instructions so everything was a breeze. Wonderful location, close to everything yet quiet and safe. Would definitely return and recommend!

Great location on the downtown mall. Host was accommodating, helpful, & instructions were clear. Beautiful windows and architecturally interesting apartment. Fireplace created ambience & warmth; much appreciated during January's frigid temps. Note that it's a walk up apartment. Secure and comfy accommodations. Hope to return!

We had a great stay at Tara and Mark's place. The location was convenient to downtown and we enjoyed being so close to the Rivanna trail for running and walking. The downstairs apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed for our trip.

This location is perfect for us, very close to the downtown pedestrian mall, shops, restaurants, farmers market. And yet, this home is also protected from the hubbub, traffic and noise... leading to peaceful teatime and sleeping. I'd like to come back some day and use as a writer's retreat! Thank you Genevieve for being a most wonderful and thoughtful host for us over thanksgiving!

Kalin’s place was easy to find, clean, and well stocked. It is about 20 minutes to downtown Charlottesville where we spent most of our time and 30 minutes to the Shenandoah National Park entrance. It is attached to the home but feels private and quiet! We appreciated the quick responses from Kalin and having everything we needed there.

Great stay! It was great bringing our pet on our snowboarding trip. Plenty of room and pet friendly in suite 1. Great location for local breweries, hiking, and snow sports. The bed was super comfy! Would definitely stay again!
