The perfect relaxing getaway if you like things a bit on the rustic side. Being able to swim, fish, paddle around, soak in the hot tub, or just relax and enjoy the view right outside the door was ideal. Plus there was enough space and stuff for kids to keep them occupied and happy all day long. Location was far enough from the city to be completely peaceful, but close enough to easily get supplies or just visit for a few hours. Beds were comfortable and the wood fire stove was there if we needed it to take the edge off cool mornings or evenings, making a cozy space to read and relax. Keep in mind that there is no hot water or potable water on site, but if you're used to simple cabins or camping, this is nothing to worry about. Leslie was great about staying in contact and clearly loves this place herself, which makes it a much better place to be than some of the more generic rental-only options out there. We are already planning our return for next year.

Arne and Mary are not just friendly hosts, they're awesome hosts! They go beyond providing shelter. Arne and Mary genuinely take interest in showing their guests what the area has to offer. Arne really put effort into showing us a local attraction and taking us to a friend of his that explained and showed the ins and outs of maple syrup making.

We had a fantastic stay! The place was just as described—beautiful, cozy, and well thought out. The kitchen was incredibly functional and well-stocked, with labeled cupboards that made everything easy to find. The wood-burning fireplace in the living area added a warm touch. There was plenty of sleeping space for everyone, and the highlight of our stay was definitely the hot tub and the basement amenities, which provided the perfect spot to relax and unwind.

Charming and Cozy in an amazing location! I plan to return in the summer and enjoy the beach, fire pit, rockhounding, watching the freighters and exploring. The location is a great launching point for many day trips within an hour or two of the cabin. And the beach access really is steps away from the door! We played outside all day and then played Catan and Uno at night. The kitchenette had everything we needed to prepare meals. There is an entertainment center set up with Roku and a dvd player with movies and some games. The beds were both very comfortable with quality linens and blankets and great pillows. The porch is darling, birdfeeders all around and lanterns and lights for night. Kelly was the perfect host, very quick to respond, knowledgeable of the area, and a pleasure to communicate with! I highly recommend this cabin for one or two people. Perfect for a cozy getaway, beach fun and day trips. You won’t be disappointed!!!

This was by far the best stocked Airbnb that we've ever stayed at! They thought of everything - beach towels, extra fans in every room, a charcoal grill, smores skewers, and even a waffle maker! The house was clean and had some character - we loved the look of the built in high tabletop and plenty of river themed decor. For those who are picky about your drinking water, it seemed to be well water, so we ended up buying a lot of water jugs. Great location for a 'get away from it all cabin'. It was close enough to Sault Ste Marie and Mackinac Island to make day trips to those spots, yet far enough away from the city life that ship watching was the exciting part of the day and star gazing quality was fantastic - we even saw several meteors (granted we stayed during Perseids Meteor showers peak). Our hosts made some fantastic restaurant recommendations for us while we stayed. We wished we could've done more of the activities they suggested, but some were too far for our kiddos.

Well equipped! Great place to stay. We will be back.

You cannot go wrong with Limber Lost Lodge. Easy access, very clean and organized cabin and surroundings, hiking trails, free access to their kayaks, water bikes, paddle boards, etc. Whether for a weekend or longer, I would definitely recommend this place.

9 days was not long enough! Next time we hope to book a little longer. Once you’re there, you can’t leave. It’s that amazing. Worth every penny. Kai & Emily were excellent hosts and super accommodating. Spent some quality time both outside and inside, and lucked out with temps in the mid twenties and sunshine. If you have a canoe or kayaks, be sure to bring them. If you don’t, we promise you will regret it. Plan is to return for future conferences in the Soo and no matter what comes up, we will do our best to book again during the fall colour blitz. It’s beyond breathtaking. Had a wonderful stay. Susan was very helpful with local recommendations and very quick to respond to any questions we had. Great location for snowmobiling. Very central location to head in all directions. We rode right from there and put on about 500 miles in 3 days. Very clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was provided.

It was our second time here and it was just as nice as the first time. we had a wonderful long weekend on the water and relaxing by the fire!

A beautiful spot with friendly farm dogs that come to visit! It was so nice to hear the sounds of nature going to sleep and awakening. Definitely a place to become one with nature again.

We had the most amazing time in this charming cabin, the decor is so cute and cozy; we felt relaxed and comfortable as soon as we arrived. The location was absolutely perfect for us, we loved hearing the waves of Lake Superior while we had our morning coffee and evening bonfires. The perfect UP get away!!

We had a great mid-winter break at the Rustic Moose guest house. We were there to snowmobile and both the weather and the location were perfect. The guest house was just the right size for my husband, me and our small dog. There is a great view of the lake from the second floor where the living and bedroom spaces are located. We were with a group of friends who were staying in the main house which is very beautiful. Both houses have been updated and the attention to detail is just awesome! We had everything we needed for a 5-night stay and would definitely return for a future trip! Thanks to the Christina(s) for the hospitality and use of your home!

We had a great time and enjoyed some awesome fishing adventures. The campground residents were very friendly and helpful! Would love to book another trip in the future.

Absolutely spectacular location for watching freighters. Downbound ships pass this location so close you can hear the deck hands talking. Was able to see 2 ships even though we were only there for ~12 hours. Cabin was exactly what we were expecting, bare bones but that’s all we wanted. Will definitely be back.

The cottage was just the quick, quiet and peaceful getaway I was looking for. The place was simple and comfortable for one person, with room for more, right on the water and offered an expansive lake with two additional connecting lakes you could kayak to. It was great to take a long swim and nestle back in the cottage with my coffee. My favorite part was waking up to views of the water with birds chirping and sipping coffee. It’s a great place for getting away to write, escape daily life and avoid holiday crowds. Lois was very responsive and we were able to meet and connect on our passion for Hawaii. She provided some nice perks like local coffee and bottled water stocked in the fridge. I hope to be a return visitor to this little gem. Thanks for everything, Lois!

Have your information saved off-line, there is low/no connection and there is multiple cabins. The heaters and appliances worked properly. There is a lot of kayaks, chairs, and fire areas on the property. Great for fishing and freighter ship watching. The recommended family owned restaurant was good. Cabin is 30 minutes from chain restaurants and grocery store. The owners were great, friendly, and accommodating. We will be back.
