We had a lovely stay at Francesca's home to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. 6 adults and 3 children were easily accommodated, and the space allowed us to have a fun catch-up. Fran's printed information sheets were great, and allowed us to make the most of our time there. Friendly, responsive host. We hope to be back!

We had such a fabulous stay at Carole’s place in Warton. The lodge was immaculate and so well equipped with everything we needed. The location was quiet, private and set around a lovely small lake. 30 minute drive to Windermere and 15 minutes to Lancaster. Would highly recommend and look forward to staying again in the future.

We had a great weekend at Fir Garth. The house was well equipped for our group of 10: Good sized en-suite bedrooms with comfy beds and cosy duvets, a really well equipped kitchen ( we did lots of cooking), the main living was a great sized space, a projector, games, an extra snug room, outdoor space etc. The location was excellent, pub and shop within walking distance, excellent walks in the area, a beautiful view, quiet, easily accessible. We all agreed we would definitely come to the house again.

Absolutely awesome place, the house was lovely and comfortable. It was clean and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and bedding was cleaning. The site facilities were really good and we all loved the pool and jacuzzi after our long days walking. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again

This was the perfect place for exploring Kendal and the surrounding Lakes. We parked the car on the drive and didn’t move it for our entire stay, choosing to walk and use the very handy public transport to get around instead. We arrived at the spotlessly clean and very well equipped house around 3, then had a lovely sunset walk up to Kendal Castle before using the amazing lounge for a family games night - loads of room on the coffee table and very comfy sofas! The next day we caught the 555 bus to Windermere for £3, it took a very scenic 30 minutes and we had an amazing day exploring Windermere and Bowness before returning to use the pool and hot tub at the hotel 2 minutes away, then using amazing kitchen facilities to cook a family meal and have have a poker tournament! On our final full day we packed some lunch and had a walk to Scout Scar - amazing views. We then had the one of best meal’s we’ve had at Pappy’s Texas BBQ - would definately recommend booking in advance. Amazing!

Family of 4 stayed 3 nights in October 2024 and it was just what we needed. Had some beautiful long walks along the beach. The caravan was home from home, clean and cosy. It had everything you could want for cooking a simple breakfast to Sunday Roast. Clean and respectful surroundings around the park. I would definitely recommend to family and friends.

House was as described, beautiful setting with wonderful views of the hills and mountains. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds and bathrooms are nicely finished with good showers. Kitchen is a good size and has all required implements. A great location for exploring the central lakes and soaking up all that Ambleside has to offer.

Our family had a lovely stay at Burrowbank at the end of the summer holiday. The house is fantastic with all the facilities you could ask for. The kids loved the swings and most of all the pool, while the covered (heated) BBQ area meant evening meals outside watching the sunset. Great location and setting, very private and we would definitely come again and recommend to others. Martyn and Christine were very helpful and went the extra mile (even posting my daughter’s disposable camera that she left behind). Can’t think of any negatives and we made some great/happy memories.

Fantastic property, amazing facilities and very close to local amenities. David responded very quickly to any queries and was very helpful.

Would 100% recommend staying at the Riverain Coach House. We recently stayed with some friends and enjoyed local walks close to the house, a good selection of local pubs nearby but would recommend pre-booking to avoid disappointment. However with Penrith and shops being only 10 minutes away, it wasn't a problem. The house has been done up beautifully and is really well equipped. Christine was great, providing lots of helpful information before our stay and the welcome hamper went down a treat. Thank you so much, we would 100% stay again.

The house was as described. Very quiet on an evening. Great location for walking in the lakes following our walk up Scarfell Pike and Ennerdale. It’s not particularly a tourist location but a great base! All locals really friendly and Everything was expected and described.

I had a wonderful relaxing stay with my elderly parents. Georgie gave me so much information and loads of tips during the week, and generally was super friendly and helpful. Her place was warm, welcoming, and very well kitted out for a family week. The location in Bowness village is ideal, just on the edge of the busy tourist area only a few minutes walk away, and very close to everything. The bus stop is right outside the guest house which is spot on for the 599 which goes around the Windermere and Grasmere area and is a great sight-seeing option. Thanks Georgie for a lovely stay, highly recommend your lovely place and hospitality!

Myself and my friends had an excellent stay at Sue’s property with our dogs. It helped that the weather was lovely but the cottage would have been so cosy and comfortable regardless. Sue’s instructions were helpful in finding the property and the cottage itself was spotless and well equipped. We have had a very relaxing stay and will definitely look to visit again next time!! Excellent location and unique place to stay at a very reasonable price! Parking can be a bit tricky as spots are first come first served, but paid parking at Booth's nearby is also reasonable and close by. Walking distance to a lot of dining, pubs, shopping, etc... Everything you might need is in stock at the apartment as well. Recommended!

Fantastic stay. Sara was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. House is a great location, easy to get to from the motorway and 5 minutes walk from the beach. House had everything we needed for 6 adults, 3 kids and a dog travelling from opposite ends of the UK. It was like a home away from home. Good kitchen and bathrooms and large, nicely decorated bedrooms, living room and dining room. Drive big enough for 3 cars and enclosed garden. Lots of recommendations of things to do in the local area.

An absolutely amazing place. We found ourselves at home and with all the convenient amenities required for a great holiday. Very spacious and situated in a perfect location. Above all, Brenda was simply amazing, taking time to explain everything and giving us excellent recommendations. She was so helpful and always contactable. We will certainly be returning to this beautiful cottage.

Very happy with our stay, perfect location to stay for going walking in the Lake District and the log heated hot tub was excellent after an early morning of walking! Thank you 🙂

Really nice little house. Good location for walking into Windermere or Bowness and lots of walks/footpaths easily accessible from the house. Windermere is literally a 5 minute walk, if that, and Bowness and the piers are maybe 20 minutes which saves trying to find a parking space! Kitchen is extremely well equipped for a holiday let and has everything you could need. Outside space is also lovely, two different areas with tables and chairs to sit and catch the sun at different times of day. Nice touch to have toweling robes to use while you're there and soap/shampoo/conditioner provided in the bathroom. Hotel style linen and towels was nice. Not sure if the house will eventually have more than one bedroom as there are two other rooms upstairs that are currently closed off. Overall, myself and my two dogs had a really nice last minute stay here. Host was really quick to respond to messages and super helpful. Would definitely recommend to others.

We had a fantastic weekend away with friends in Upper Oak House. The house is beautiful and very well equipped, the hot tub being an added bonus. The house was spotless and cleaned to a very high standard. It’s in a great location with Windermere high street, with its great range of shops and restaurants just a 5 minute walk away. Bowness is a 25 minute walk away but there are regular buses which only take 5 minutes. We will definitely be back!

Amazing 300+ years old Grade-2 listed house with fantastic feel still retained. On top Joyce and Lucy are amazing hosts. My 6 year old even struck up a great conversation with Lucy and they started playing a board game of sorts :-) They always kept us informed, and ensured the house is kept warm all time. Easily accessible to some local villages, the beach and also just half an hour away from the Lake districts. Only point I will make is if they can offer a small kitchen facility that will be great for families. Having said that -it wasn't a problem at all as beverage, cutlery and crockeries were all provided. Plus free milk, juice etc. And we actually enjoyed some wonderful takeaways who deliver within 30 mins. Jasmine Palace - the chinese was great.

Staying at Lorna's place was very nice. The space is warm and cute, it has the essentials. When we arrived we found bread, milk, coffee and tea for us. The bed is comfortable and everything works fine. Thank you for everything Lorna!!
