Grassy Creek Cabooses are a great place for a peaceful getaway. We enjoyed getting away from our schedules and responsibilities to just enjoy life in the mountains. Our daughter and fur-babies loved it, as well!

We wanted to do something unique & different for our anniversary & this did NOT disappoint. From the “main” road you can see the 3 red cabooses up on the hill & our hearts smiled. They recently had storms & we could see where the flood waters deteriorated the sides of the driveway but it was still wide enough for us to pass another small vehicle if needed. Office Check in was a breeze and took less than five mins before we were standing in our getaway train(caboose) which is on a real track! We were the only ones staying this weekend but if others were present, there was plenty of room. Our furbabies throughly enjoyed having a large field in front of the cabooses to run in. The views from the swings were breathtaking especially during the sunsets. Once Inside, we enjoyed the comforts of home (except for a stove). The hotness of the water & the relaxing hot tub added to our experience. Some things were dated but that is to come with the territory. We hope to visit again in the fall.

Very fun and different kind of stay - and we happened to be there on the night of an open house next door at the old train station where the model train club meets. We saw the huge model train set-up in the back room. The caboose was clean and very comfortable. Great hosts, fast to respond.

Had a great time, the hosts offered to pick me up at the airport and showed me around. The place was nice and tidy, about 20 minutes walk from the coast.

Cheryl's place was fantastic! The caboose was so cute and cozy. Beautiful surroundings and so peaceful. We enjoyed all the animals. The bison feeding was fun to watch, Cheryl's parents provided a lot of interesting facts about the bison. Looking forward to going back and taking the grandkids!

La cocina con lo necesario para hacer algo de comer mientras te hodpedas. El lugar es cerca del centro, así que puedes llegar caminando, solo que es montaña arriba. También puedes llegar en taxi. Se recomienda.

Nice place with a great view

Beautiful location, place as described. Jacuzzi was great. Lots of hot water. Good water pressure, good shower. Bed was comfortable. Donnie was helpful and responsive.

During sun-soaked evenings, while baby cows nursed, my daughter & I spent hours snuggled on the cozy bunk while I crocheted. Deb, our host, was exceptional. Her hospitality made us feel so at home the entirety of our stay. Her attention to detail is immaculate; Chessie Rails was spotless—something I truly appreciated as a neat freak. There wasn’t a speck of dust in sight, making our trip that much more relaxing. Whether you’re seeking a tranquil retreat or a family-friendly vacation, Chessie Rails is a MUST stay. We loved every moment of our stay & CAN’T WAIT to return!

This was a unique stay in a quiet and peaceful setting. There's plenty to do and see in the outskirts. A great experience!

I was looking for an airbnb to book at the last minute. This place exceeded my expectations. It is very unique and filled with the ambience I was looking to achieve. I was unaware this place existed. I was excited to share with my friends. I am looking forward to booking again.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Amy's Train Car Guesthouse. It was very clean, comfortable, and the perfect spot to rest while spending a weekend visiting family in the area. Amy was helpful and responsive and she has created a very comfortable and aesthetically-pleasing interior space. We hope to return!

This place was so cute . I thought it was very clean and cozy. I would definately choose it again . It was perfect for the occassion .

What an amazing time we had a the Hamilton Train Car! Lily was a great host and the whole experience of staying on a historic train can’t be beat! The beds are comfortable, the space is clean and well stocked for large groups. We enjoyed playing board games, visiting in the parlor and watching the trains go by! This was truly such a fun and unique stay. Thanks Lily for hosting us and for this one of a kind experience! Spring Break 2025 was unforgettable because of The Hamilton!

These train cars have so much history and charm. Karla has really put so much thought and intent into the decor, the information and time period, and cozy comfort. Little touches like snacks, tea, coffee creamer, etc. beautiful plush towels and comfy beds and furniture. It felt so private and luxurious. The decks and surroundings are lovely and there really isn’t much around at all so it is so peaceful and quiet. I loved the guestbook too and felt so comfortable. Karla was also responsive and helpful, though I didn’t need much help at all because everything was so well thought out. The perfect get away for peace and solitude amid a cozy converted train car and caboose!

Nice little place in the woods. If you like railroad history, this is a neat place to take your family. Had phone service the entire time. The place was easy and relaxing.

This is such a unique and special place! We brought our kids as a birthday weekend away and we all loved it. Patrick was a great host, easy to communicate with, and has created a very unique place to stay. We would highly recommend this rail car turned rental!

AWESOME PLACE TO GO AND TRAVEL TO. the town has lots of sight seeing and stores to go to. the Train was AMAZINGGGG a true dream come true for my childhood bucketlist!!!

We loved staying at The Lost Pearl! Very cool place! We stayed in the Pirate room the first 2 nights then the caboose the last night. So beautiful and neat, antique decor throughout the historical home. Daniel greeted us and helped us when needed with recommendations , but also let us do our own thing! They have goats and a mini store packed full of goat milk products & fun things! You can feed the goats. The breakfast that was made for us Saturday morning was DELICIOUS. He recommended the perfect winery/brewery to meet both our needs, a perfect hike-park area that took us to a local waterfall. No tv in the pirate room- we brought our projector and watched Pirates of the Caribbean and Titanic! Caboose has a smart tv and heater. We had a wedding our last night near by, came back to a fire built for us. Each room included a book with history about the property and local areas, recommendations to restaurants and sites, wineries, antique shops and so much more! We will be back! Loved it!

My family and I absolutely LOVED our stay here. The train is so cute and homey. The property is beautiful and peaceful. The host went above and beyond all expectations. We would 100% stay again and 100% recommend.

Absolutely wonderful stay! Hosts were quick to respond if there were any issues and gave clear instructions and guidlines to follow. The caboose was an absolutely delightful place to stay and the winery nearby is just as lovely. I definitely recommend checking it out! It was an absolutely beautiful birthday weekend for my train and wine loving boyfriend. We will definitely be coming back!

I loved the Yellow Caboose! It’s a budget friendly version of the Blue Train Room and a little smaller, but still plenty of room. I loved the record player and the album selection in that room. I relaxed on the yellow couch in the yellow caboose and listened to albums all night one night! I sat outside in the courtyard area one night, with lights strung across the property. The kitchen was great, the shower was perfectly HOT, and the metal bed frame made a little squeaky noise when you got in, reminding me of childhood camp! Add the retro decor and color scheme to that, it was like stepping back in time! I loved it!

it was so fun to share in what is obviously one of the great passions of Pat's life - Tiw Town is very unique. The location is walkable and near the university with lots of things to do. Pat is very friendly and helpful, and gave us some great suggestions for restaurants. Thanks for a great weekend stay.
