We loved our weekend getaway at Fox Lodge! A very peaceful and quiet place with a beautiful view. It was like being home! The house was exactly as described. I was able to host my husband's birthday in a very original and unique way. We loved the boathouse. We couldn't use the kayaks or the boat due to the weather. But we stayed for a while listening to music, chatting, and drinking. It was perfect! Suzanne, thank you so much for hosting us!

We had a wonderful fall break on the lake. We have visited the lake for years and love the area. It was wonderful to have the option for a lake front property.

What a great house and location! The lake is so serene. The house is close to Jacksonville proper, so it’s easy to pop into town for groceries, etc. Although it was only myself, my aunt, and my tiny pups, I can see how a big family could easily fit here, lots of space and extra bedding and just about every lake toy you could possibly think of!! Lots of great outdoor seating, too! Do be advised that you can hear some highway noise occasionally and the East Texas Rail Line is very close by, so you will hear the trains blast their horns at all hours. But, other than that, this is a truly peaceful and beautiful spot, we watched all manner of bird life: cranes, egrets, ducks, a big goose, hawks, buzzards, etc. We will definitely book again!!

We had a fantastic weekend getaway at this Airbnb! The price was great for everything it offered. The location was perfect—peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by nature, making it the ideal spot to rest and recharge. The home was clean, well-kept, and very dog-friendly, which was a big plus for us. We loved how relaxing everything felt, from the serene surroundings to the cozy atmosphere inside. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a calm, refreshing escape!

The place was very beautiful and the house reminded me of my grandparents home when I was a little girl. It was very nostalgic for me. The only issue that I had was getting the electric fence turned off. I didn't know exactly where to look and it was late in the evening when I arrived. But once I called Paula, everything was perfect. Great place....Great host....Great experience.

Ms. Ruth is the absolute best host! Our home was having renovations so we were here for an extended stay and have zero complaints. The home is clean, well stocked and so comfortable. If you are in the area, book this rental and you won’t be disappointed!

We had the best time while at Dead Cat Ranch. We felt like we had the place to ourselves and that we were getting the VIP treatment. We are already planning a trip to return with the rest of the family.

Cozy and relaxing airstream. It felt as if we were actually camping 🏕️ clear view of the stars ✨ and a great place to start a fire and enjoy smores with the kiddos. Wake up to the sunrise and enjoy a quiet beautiful view to birds chirping and deer feeding. 🧘🏻‍♀️Lake has a nice swing that never failed to soothe my baby into a nap. The pool was so clean and relaxing. The property itself has many activities to keep your entire family busy. Very clean all around. A UTV rental is a must and if you’re lucky and quiet you’ll spot many deer on your adventure. We’re definitely coming back and staying in an airstream again! Best Staycation ever!

Terrible rain storms dampened our trip but our cabin was very cozy. We enjoyed reading and tv. We were snug, dry and warm. This was our first trip with our puppy and the cabin was perfect.

We loved the place - beautiful countryside, quiet evenings, and mornings on the front porch with a cup of coffee and the hummingbirds was especially nice. We came for a wedding near by in Buffalo, and this was hands down 100% nicer than any hotel. The hosts are wonderful - I highly recommend them and their hideaway!

VJ farms is a wonderful place to stay!The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. The house was beautiful and calm since its off the beaten path so to speak. There was so many things to do from swimming, having a fire, and feeding the donkeys. My kids loved petting and feeding taco and juicy fruit (the donkeys). We would definitely rent this home again in the future.

Christy was an amazing host! We had a great time with our two dogs and her dogs became best friends with ours! The space was very clean and was a great retreat from our city life! We had a great time walking the trails, having a campfire and just relaxing. Book it, you won’t be disappointed!

The design of this property is amazing. We love the redesign of the old building. Lots of light from the big windows(non operable), spacious and comfortable. The host/co-hosts were responsive when we had questions, check in was easy and there are a few nearby places to eat.

We loved staying here for our annual sister’s weekend. The loft was very clean and super spacious. We enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants and shops. It met all of our needs!

We stayed overnight for a nearby getaway. It’s such a peaceful & relaxing place to unwind with a book and enjoy the company that you’re with. Dinner was amazing. We tried the 3-course meal: eggplant wrapped salmon and my husband had a medium rare filet. The food was perfectly cooked & seasoned. Desserts were delicious. Breakfast was served at 9am the next morning and we enjoyed varied & full plate of homemade food. I’d love to come back for pizza classes or another stay at the B&B. Truly a unique place in East Texas.

My wife and took a weekend to get away from the city. This was the perfect place because we both love to fish. We lost the time of day out fishing. Linda and Paul take good care of their ranch and you can tell they pride themselves to make guests happy. I’m so thrilled we found this place. I wish k could have stayed a whole week. The fishing was incredible. The views were gorgeous. I can’t wait to come back!
