I recently had the pleasure of staying at Wren House in Afton, Virginia, and it was an unforgettable experience. Nestled amidst nature, this retreat offered privacy and breathtaking mountain views. The hot tub was a delightful addition, perfect for unwinding after a day of tubing at Wintergreen Resort. The spacious layout made it ideal for our family gathering, providing both comfort and tranquility. I highly recommend Wren House for anyone seeking a serene getaway in a picturesque setting.

This was a perfect two night getaway with our family. The house is very clean. The views are beautiful. There are lots of things to do in the area not far from the house. We enjoyed taking the short path to the brewery for a couple of meals. The food is great! We sat by the fire and soaked in the hot tub. Martha’s instructions were very easy to follow to check in and checkout. She was very responsive. We appreciate that she also offered plenty of suggestions for things to do in the area. We visited for the weekend and had a wonderful stay. Peaceful, unique, clean - first words that come to mind when thinking of the Fenton Inn. Recommend making reservations in advance (when needed) for local dining as some of the breweries have limited seating availability due to COVID. Recommend Bold Rock for great food, views, and outdoor dining. We drove to Crabtree Falls for the day, great hike and drive along the Blue Ridge parkway which is just minutes from this location. Excited to see a couple black bear cubs!

We loved staying here! It's a beautiful home with a great view. Communication was great. We would definitely stay here again. - It was a 4-5 min drive to the parking area (skiing) or you can park at the spa and take the shuttle. - The top floor is a large bedroom and bathroom, then two bedrooms on the main floor (with two separate bathrooms) and the bottom floor is large with the pool table / another living area, and hot tub outside. The bottom floor has 3 BRs but only one bathroom FYI. Not a problem for us but something to keep in mind when splitting up the spaces.

Great stay. Not updated, but extremely comfortable. Bed was great! We really enjoyed the fireplace. Everything we needed for a short stay. Small suggestion… get rid of the cable and tv and buy a smart tv for streaming. Thanks for a great stay and for allowing us a later checkout. Much appreciated.

From the first glimpse of the rolling farm hills and quietly grazing cows we knew we had a good place to get away from our ordinary lives. Brendan met us when we arrived at the quaint location: rambling farm home and adjacent out-buildings close to a lovely stream with weeping willows, wild flowers. Brendan helped us with our luggage and showed us around so we could get the most from our stay. We took walks along the farm roads and enjoyed our time in and out of the house. The outdoor shower was fun and I loved the deep claw foot tub.

Becky was a great host - she was very friendly and made sure she was available to help us when we were checking in and getting settled. House was perfect for us (2 couples + baby) for JMU homecoming weekend - walkable to downtown and to campus. Highly recommend Becky’s home!

house was very well stocked for an Airbnb (games, kitchen stuff, household items, etc), having an onsite firewood supply was amazing as was being within walking distance of some of the slopes. Vivian's instructions were very clear on the check in/check out procedure and everything was described accurately. Would stay here again!

We had an amazing time! The cottage was clean, extremely stocked with lots of extras which was so nice. The views are incredible. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. They are close if you need anything but the house is very private. The adults, kid and dogs loved it! Hope to come back again!

This house was amazing to stay at! The plan was just to find an Airbnb to stay at while we skied at wintergreen, but we ended up getting rained out and spent almost the whole time in the house. I was so fun the house is full of surprises and fun board games we weren't board for a minute! The beds were super comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you need to cook!

The place was very clean and perfect for us — 2 couples and a couple of small dogs. We came to town to enjoy some skiing at wintergreen and found the location convenient for access to the resort at a very fair price. It was a very cold weekend so we didn’t get much opportunity to enjoy the outdoor patio or fire pit but we enjoyed the view of the beautiful creek.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. and was easy to find. & no stairs to enter. We stayed 7 nights in one day and most mornings; We brought some DVD/Blu-ray kid’s movies to help entertain our almost three year old; he was fascinated by the spiral staircase and we went up a few times but spent most of our time on the main level. A cozy retreat, two bathrooms and two bedrooms with king size beds on the main level. Convenient supplies, spices, coffee & a pantry supply that could of helped in a pinch. I made pancakes and used the blender to mix it up, I also used the blender to make a cake & baked it in a bread pan, pot holders are on the side of refrigerator. Everything we used worked well, we didn’t use the fireplace; The A/C & ceiling fans were great. There’s some board games and movies too. We hope to come back again sometime Highly recommend.

A wonderful location on the edge of the small town of Bridgewater, within easy driving to a variety places to walk, eat, experience outdoor activities and downtown shops. Brad, Stacey and Zane were available if needed and offered to make sure the room was cleaned and resupplied several times during our four-week stay. The layout of the room was practical and efficient for the time spent there. We encountered no issues and felt all we needed for living there was available in the living space. We felt comfortable, safe, welcomed and peaceful at the edge of farm land and the beginning of the town. Overall, a great, positive experience, and we would return for another visit.

Highly recommend this home for your Wintergreen stay. First, the hosts were extremely proactive in sending detailed information from check-in instructions to suggestions on local activities. The host was responsive within minutes with any questions we had. The house is very well stocked with everything you will need for your stay. The house was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. It was perfect for 3 couples in our party, not many homes have 3 master suites. The house has 2 family rooms which added great additional space. The location is convenient to the Wintergreen lodge, not ski in/ski out but an easy drive down to the resort, seriously just a few minutes. I highly recommend waking up early to enjoy the beautiful sunrise from the big window on the main level, can't beat the views. Everyone in our party was extremely happy with our stay.

We went to celebrate my birthday and my moms and enjoyed the scenery as well as the house. More than enough space for a big group. Instructions were very easy to understand and host responded quickly whenever I reached out. Thank you for the amazing stay!

TDLR version: If you have a big group (more than 5) for a ski trip at Wintergreen, and are looking at places to stay, you better book this place fast because it won’t be there later. 100% worth it. No complaints at all. Longer review: This place had everything we expected and more. Big living room area for gatherings, pristine kitchen with huge counter and dining table. Appliances looked brand new as well. There’s a mudroom with a separate entrance to put all your board/ski gear in to keep the house clean. The back deck is very spacious, and the gazebo has a light under it for late nights outside. Internet worked great the whole stay as well. All in all, it felt like we were staying at resort lodging, while having a private host on speed dial. Gina was an amazing host, being very responsive, giving detailed yet not overly complicated instructions and rules for the house, and being understanding when problems arose. 12/10 would stay again.

My husband had a great time hosting a Bachelors weekend for one of his good friends. The guys loved the stay at the cabin and loved that it was so close to skiing. They would definitely stay again and maybe next time I can go!

The house is amazing! The space is beautiful, clean, and luxurious. It is probably the nicest airbnb we’ve ever stayed in! The location is peaceful and has great hiking spots and wineries close by. This was a perfect spot for a getaway weekend with a group of friends!

Great place! We love this area of Wintergreen. Willette’s place was clean and had all we needed. Communication was excellent. We would definitely stay again.
