We loved our stay at the Lost Loggerhead! Richard and Stephanie remodeled the house and did a phenomenal job of making it a “comfortable home” and not just a place to stay. Highly recommend this house especially for a family with several kids or even two very small families. Thank you Richard and Stephanie!

Home was beautiful, very clean and well appointed . Hannah provided so many extras and nice touches. Loved the view from the kitchen window and enjoying coffee on the pier in the mornings. Will rent again!

Great location and great value for the home. We enjoyed the view and hot tub! The house is definitely in need of some updates and the beds were very stiff. The master bath shower is VERY small but there are others to use in the house. The house is a great size and very close to the new Rodanthe bridge.

Loved this house! We haven’t been on a family vacation together in quite some time, this was the perfect house to bring us all together for an awesome beach trip! Would definitely stay here again.

Great stay. The pictures don’t do it justice as there is just so much more this house offers. When needing help to reset the hot-tub they immediately responded. I would have appreciated a different form of them entering the property maybe with a call of some sort as they just came in and I didn’t even notice they made the fix until hours later but still was awesome how they did it so quickly. The house is just a few blocks from clean beaches and several places to eat and spend time. More so during the open season though. My family of 12 enjoyed the stay and fit perfectly in the home!

We had 10 couples in this amazing house. Spacious, comfortable, beautiful views from almost every room. No complaints from anyone regarding the accommodations. I'm very picky when it comes to a comfortable bed and I can tell you that my husband and I slept like a baby. That media room is 1st class! In fact the entire game room area was top notch. The wives had to drag our husbands away from the pool table. The elevator was a godsend. We had a lot of stuff to move up and down and to have a working elevator saved these old knees! Plenty of seating in the dining area. Our group of 20 enjoyed all of our meals together without feeling cramped. Thank you VACASA for accommodationing our parking needs. The staff was pleasant and professional always. Our minor hiccups like the icemaker were dealt with immediately! There are too pluses to name. We had a grand time and we look forward to our next booking!

We weren't able to find a place for our family OBX getaway as early as we normally do because of conflicting schedules...but we're really happy that, after looking at properties all the way from Hatteras to Corolla, we were lucky enough to find this house and that it was available at a time that worked for us! The neighborhood is secluded and has a great mile loop for a.m. runs. The private boat ramp was great for launching our kayak and SUPs for paddling around the sound. Getting to the beach was no big deal, even with little ones...we rented a 2 wheel beach cart from DVO and rode our bikes after setting up the shade. The house itself is very comfortable, with a well-stocked kitchen and nice pool. The beds are comfortable and there are plenty of bathrooms...even one on the deck poolside. Matt was both proactive and responsive if we needed to know anything. Our two weeks seemed to fly by!

“Lady of Dare” was an incredible stay for myself and my extended family. Altogether, we had a group of 10 adults and two large dogs. We couldn’t believe the fair price of this house for our stay when we were planning and acted quickly to reserve our week. Man are we glad we did. The property has everything you could possibly want for an OBX beach vacation. Hot tub, pool, multiple decks, plenty of bedrooms/bathrooms for privacy, large open living space, HUGE deck bar by the pool, outdoor showers AND bathroom. The list could continue on. Great location next to the Avon Fishing Pier. Close enough to shops and restaurants but far enough that we had 100 yards of beach to ourselves everyday. I can’t say enough about “Lady of Dare”, it exceeded all of our expectations in every way. Both Russell and Hannah were incredibly responsive anytime we had questions or concerns and made sure they were resolved immediately. We will be back again as I can’t recommend Lady of Dare enough! Thanks Russ!

We had an amazing stay at this house! Every room was thoughtfully designed and the views were mesmerizing from every window. The house was also stocked with everything we could possibly need, which we really appreciated: the kitchen was fully stocked, the bedrooms had extra linens and clean towels prepared, and even extra toiletries. There were plenty of beach supplies and even kayaks. Kristin and Mark were always one message away, very responsive and helpful. We’re especially grateful to them for allowing us to extend our stay for an extra day as a treat. It honestly made our trip even more special! Highly recommend this place, we ourselves would love to come back in the future.

We had a great stay at Michelle’s place! The house was spacious and had a great layout for our family. There was plenty of room on the large sofa, and we loved dining on the screened in porch. The house is in a great location with easy access to the grocery store and plenty of restaurants. We rented bikes and the kids loved biking to the pool and around the large neighborhood. The beach was a little bit of a walk but was definitely doable especially with a wagon to haul our things. The house is also a short drive to a great sound side beach. Michelle was very responsive and clear with communication. When we had an issue with the WiFi she resolved it right away. Check in was also a breeze. Between the beach, pool, paddle boarding on the sound, reading on the porch, board games, and surf lessons for the kids (Endless Summer Surf OBX) we had a fabulous week! We would definitely choose Michelle’s place for our Avon vacation again!

Dare Dream was the perfect place for quiet beach getaway. The house had many games to play, and we particularly enjoyed the ping pong table. Location was perfect, with easy access to the local gym and coffeehouse. Views from the living room and deck were beautiful. Host was extremely responsive, with replies within minutes to a few questions we had, and provided detailed instructions for check-in and using the house's many amenities. The kitchen was very well-equipped with just about everything a guest could conceivably need. The house was particularly well-organized for those of us who bring the furry members of the family on holiday. Out two toy poodles thoroughly enjoyed themselves. All in all, an outstanding value that we recommend most highly.

Our second visit in three months, my husband and I returned to the Best Box for a longer stay between Christmas and New Year’s. Five nights was perfect and let us forget all our troubles. Amanda has thought of everything you could need. Even some lovely Christmas decorations that blended it beautifully with the rest of the interior design. Amanda is a super host - so thoughtful and responsive and wants to make sure you get the most out of your time at the house. Whether you want to be active on the water or chill out with incredible views, this is the perfect home to do everything and nothing. We can’t wait to come back to this very special place.
