great place to stay,close to many things with a car, and has the basics you'd need. highly recommend it.

Amazing! We’ve done this trip in various locations across costa rica and Brian’s place was by far the best, especially for larger groups. The dreamy outdoor kitchen had all the best appliances and tools you could ever need. The pool and lounge area felt like what you would experience at a high end resort. The music hookup and lighting at night was perfect for relaxing and breathtaking sunsets and nighttime conversations. Some of us could even get in a morning workout given the great gym area available and would end it with a cold plunge. I literally can’t think of anything else we could ever need! Beyond being an absolute paradise, Brian went above and beyond to welcome us and ensure we were comfortable. It’s rare these days that the host is as invested in their guests’ experience as Brian, and it’s clear that he really wants his guests to feel at home and welcome. He always promptly answered any questions and was eager to help and give recommendations. Can’t wait to come back!

The house (and casita) were amazing! Everything you could think of was included here. Even a small bath tub for our babies! All the windows on the property had electric shades so you can easily open them to see out into the jungle. The road up to the property is steep and a dirt road. It rained one day and we couldn’t get one of our vehicles up the road. You will need 4x4. Matt and Diana were super generous and helped with any issues we had quickly. They even gave us some fantastic recommendations where to eat and beaches to go too. We will definitely come back and stay again.

Matapalo Beach ist ein wunderbarer Strand mit wenig Tourismus. Die Tierwelt rund in der Umgebung ist mannigfaltig und lässt nie Langeweile aufkommen. Die Sonnenauf- und Untergänge sind wohl die schönsten in der Umgebung. Ohne Mietwagen würde ich Matapalo allerdings nicht empfehlen, denn mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel ist es sehr schwierig Abstecher in sie Umgebung zu machen, dann steckt man einfach an diesem schönen, nicht mit Tourismus überladenen Strand fest. Die Unterkunft von Laura war die ersten drei Monate ideal, sehr ruhig und erholsam, rundherum vom vielfältigen Gesang und Gezwitscher der artenreichen Vogelwelt untermalt. Der letzte Monat war allerdings nicht so toll: Gleich hinter der Unterkunft bauten jemand ein neues Gebäude und fast diesen ganzen letzten Monat war Tag für Tag unerträglicher Baustellenlärm, auch am Wochenende; das war nervenaufreibend und kein Urlaub mehr. Aber wenn das Gebäude einmal fertiggestellt ist, wird ja auch wieder Ruhe und Frieden einkehren.

10/10. The host family is very kind, helpful and communicative. The space is beautifully bathed in natural light and surrounded by nature. There is hot water, generous space, good reception/wi-fi, and everything you might need in the kitchen. The climate is cool at night so we slept great. Great neighborhood with good restaurants and stores walking distance. We stayed for five weeks and would absolutely do it again! Highly recommended.

Het verblijf was geweldig! Eigen terrasje, bed was ook super goed, zwembad is super chill! Alles is beloopbaar, supermarkt, waterval, bank, restaurant, sportschool! Dus dat maakt het extra aantrekkelijk! Dankjewel voor de fijne omgeving

Die Lage außerhalb des Dorfes mit schneller Erreichbarkeit der Wandermöglichkeiten in Gerardo de Rivas ist sehr gut Von der Terrasse hat man einen sehr schönen Blick in die Umgebung. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Wunderschönes gepflegtes Häuschen in Mitten wunderschöner Natur. Sehr gute Kommunikation mit der Gastgeberin. Vorsicht mit der Anfahrt: Von der Pazifikküste nur über San Isidro erreichbar.

Nela&José place is amazing: the view and nature around, the cabin have everything you need, you could actually feel they have thought about every small detail, Jose was available for every question and answered immediately. we fall in love at this place and are grateful about the opportunity to stay in.

Keine Klimaanlage, aber sehr gute Ventilatoren. Am Abend auf der Veranda mit dem Ventilator war super. Schönes Haus, gute und freundliche Betreuung. Einzig gelegentliches Hundebellen stört ein bisschen, aber nicht schlimm. Alles zusammen : sehr zu empfehlen, danke

A True Paradise in the Costa Rican Countryside This place is simply a slice of paradise. Nestled in a beautiful finca near San Isidro El General, the stay was nothing short of magical. The accommodation itself is perfect—I only wish we had stayed longer! Our host, Luis Andres, was incredibly kind and welcoming. He was super flexible with our schedule and even shared his locally grown coffee with us, which was absolutely delicious. Waking up here is an experience in itself. The lush vegetation, the sounds of birds singing, and the breathtaking views make every morning unforgettable. And the outdoor shower? An absolute dream—it truly makes the stay even more special. One of the highlights was exploring the finca and immersing ourselves in the natural beauty of the surroundings. This is more than just a place to stay; it’s a paradise that we didn’t want to leave. If you have the chance to visit, don’t hesitate—you won’t regret it!

Amazing location, super helpful on site host who responded immediately and helped us with some tricky logistical issues. We didn’t have a car and getting there was a bit tricky. Also the stairs to the bedroom are steep. Someone who is less sure of their balance may be challenged. Overall this place provides everything we needed and couldn’t have been more conveniently located if beach time in one of the most beautiful places in the world is your priority.

Die Kommunikation mit Roger war hervorragend, ebenso der Checkin: Obwohl lange unklar war, wann ich genau ankommen, hatte Roger ausgezeichnete Anweisungen gegeben, wie ich zur und in die Unterkunft gelange. Im Dunkeln konnte ich mir das Innere bestaunen und das konnte sich sehen lassen: Wunderbar eingerichtet. Der nächste Morgen präsentierte mir dann noch den Garten mit Sitzecken, Grill und dem Fluss direkt hinter dem Haus. Ein wenig abseits (eine gute Stunde zum Walflossenstrand und ezwa 40 Min zu den Nauyaca Wasserfällen, aber ein Traum, wenn man sich zurück ziehen, wohlfühlen und genießen will.
