This was our first time in Maine, definitely worth it! The host was amazing and replied as soon as the message was sent. The house was clean, plenty of entertainment and a lot of places from 5-10 minutes away. I would 100% recommend and be back.

This was our second time staying at this stunning property, and somehow, it was even better than the first! We could see the thoughtful updates with new furniture, gorgeous décor, and little touches that made it feel even more special. The pool area was an absolute dream. It was warm, there is a diving board, it’s deep, there are built in lights, speakers, TV, and more made it a luxurious escape, making us forget the cold entirely. We also loved the pool table for some friendly competition and the outdoor fireplace, for the coziest s’mores night. The master bedroom was a showstopper with a sparkling chandelier and dreamy decor! It would be an amazing spot for a special occasion. The entire home is spacious yet cozy. The location is peaceful and picturesque. Big gas station/convenient store, diner, and an ice cream shop near by are convenient. Hidden gem and perfect staycation spot. Can’t wait to go back!

This place is so great. It is exactly like the photos, but I think even despite that the listing doesn't quite capture how huge this house is. It seems pretty well insulated, also, so despite us having a decent sized group, it never felt crowded or loud. There's so many nooks and crannies to tuck away in. Also, this is an old house with old house charm, Cale really preempts a lot of questions with super helpful signage throughout the house. Not sure which of the six knobs you need to turn on the shower? They already thought of that and have put helpful guidance on the wall. We cooked for 8 people in the kitchen and found it well stocked – they even have a crock pot. Overall, this was exactly what our group was looking for.

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

BEAUTIFUL Home!! Tons of space to relax and spread out with our family! The beds were very comfortable! We really appreciated all of the bathrooms for our group! The kitchen was huge and so handy for preparing meals! I absolutely loved the style and atmosphere of this wonderful home! We also loved being able to bring our dogs!! We had a lovely time and we would most definitely come back!!! 🥰

I recently stayed with my family at this incredible Airbnb that exceeded all my expectations. This property offered a hot tub, a pool table, and a level of privacy and tranquility that made for a truly relaxing getaway. One of the highlights of our stay was being able to watch the northern lights from the hot tub – it was absolutely magical. We spent a week in Acadia, and the location was perfect, just 15-20 minutes from Bar Harbor or the nearest town. The hosts were very responsive, and the place was fantastic for families, being both kid and pet friendly. It was a week filled with unforgettable moments, and I can't recommend this place enough!

Amazing and beautiful place! Kitchen has species, butter and other nice little things! Just I just wish the residents were allowed to use the fireplace, it's real, not imitation.

I really enjoyed staying at this house! It was a perfect location central location if you’re traveling to Acadia or Bangor. The house was clean and cozy. It has a rustic and charming feel.

We loved our stay here! Jana was very accommodating for 2 infants, helping us get extra supplies to make travel to the location easier. This location is perfect. Everything is walkable and you don’t have to worry about parking. Highly recommend. Easily the best air bnb we have stayed at.

The house and views are excellent, you can sit on the back deck or outside area and just gaze out at the view, see Bald Eagles fly over every day, even saw one grab a fish from the water. Very clean and well appointed with the essentials like detergents for laundry and dishwasher, garbage bags, slat, pepper and other cooking basics, foil and cling wrap, beach chairs. Overall I can say it is a very nice house, very clean. The location is 20 - 25 minutes from Bar Harbor and maybe 20 min to Acadia. We didn't mind this at all. We ate lobster at 5 different places, if you want the absolute best Lobster rolls go to the Travilin Lobster, there is one in Trenton and one in Bar Harbor, by far the best lobster roll. Oh, and probably as important as the house being very clean, the beds were very comfortable.

lovely family home. Had every thing you would need. rules are explicit. it may be helpful to know that the one bathroom is on the second floor.Although family is not in the area, they were responsive in a short period of time. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

For my husband and me this place was perfect! Simple, clean, very homey. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials (and more) and even spices, etc. We went to Acadia to hike and LOVED the location! Very easy access to trails, yet not too far for those who want to access downtown Bar Harbor. Allison was very responsive, kind, and helpful and gave us some great recommendations! We loved hiking Acadia so much and would love to return. If we do, we’ll definitely stay at Thelma’s Cottage!!

Jeremy and Ellen are fantastic hosts. Very communicative during booking and prior to arrival with suggestions of what to do (we were travelling from the UK). We stayed for 16 nights and the house felt like home - it has everything you need. Absolutely fantastic place to stay and we really recommend it.

Our family and I had a wonderful stay at Jackies, we are all originally from maine, and her home gives you everything great about maine. We really felt at home, it snowed christmas eve which made it even more beautiful ( The driveway was plowed out early as well). I brought a small christmas tree with us on our trip up, and when we walked in, the place was decorated for christmas, which was just amazing and so thoughtful. We definitly plan on staying again, the next time we are back in maine. Thank you again Jackie!

We have been going to this area of Maine for over fifty years. I found this gem several years ago and haven’t stayed anywhere since. I find it to be peaceful, walkable to the center via footbridge, it’s all that we want. Kathy is a great host, quickly responds to any questions or needs you may have. We always know we will have a great experience staying here.

This house is magical, by far one of the best homes I have stayed in. The space is serene and exceeded our expectations. Close proximity to all the best restaurants/hotels and hikes on the island.

Loved staying at this cabin! I was a last minute booking and the hosts were super nice and accommodating. Would recommend these hosts and this cabin to everyone!!

I wrote this while on GCI! Enjoy! The Winds changed without a word. The Wind changed and so did the temperature down seven degrees. It had been so quiet. It had taken a little time to get used to the silence once we arrived on the island. Eventually the silence was replaced by a constant easterly wind as the September temperature reminded me that summer here was wanning. Fall begins today, right on que and even though I felt in isolation I did not feel alone, as the winds, for sure, were making sounds like peoples chatter and for a moment I had to turn my head and listen to make sense of the mystery and the wonder I've experienced through mother nature. Destioney was amazing to deal with. The house was beautiful and we felt right at home the entire stay. The welcoming basket was a favourite!!!! Highly recommend this stay!!!

Our family vacation was greatly enhanced by not only the wonderful location of Sarah's home, but also of the house itself. The rental is within easy walking distance of incredible restaurants and within short driving time of the park, etc. We included the 3rd floor apartment in our rental, and it was perfect for our 30 something daughter and her boyfriend -- privacy but also quiet. A few questions arose during our stay with Sarah's almost immediate response being quite impressive. We look forward to heading back to beautiful Bar Harbor in the future and wouldn't hesitate to rent this fantastic home again.

Just as described! Very clean. Far enough to feel private but still close to grocery stores, shops, and nearby towns! Lisa is great at communicating and it was a seamless process! Had a wonderful new year’s getaway!
