Barlavento Algarvio : locations de vacances dans des gîtes à la ferme

What a fantastic, authentic, charming, comfortable and hospitable place to enjoy the Algarve. We wanted to find somewhere that was in reach of the beaches, but not a dull apartment and something with character. We found this place in the search and it looked too good to be true - lovely character, a pool, off-street parking, outside dining and close to the big towns on the coast. We thought that we would need to travel a long way in land to find it, but this was so ideal!! Just 15 mins either way to Albufeira or Vilamoura/Quarteira and just 10 mins to Falesia beach! Easy access to tourist spots, but then we could return to a quiet, farmhouse idyll with its own pool to relax. Manuel is a terrific host and was waiting to meet us, even though I was late due to issues with my car rental. He showed us around and was helpful during our stay. Ignore other reviews about the Wifi, it is perfect and I worked on it all week. Also, I got a nice, sharp knife for the kitchen drawer, so sorted! :)

Wat een pareltje is dit. Wij (een stel met een dochtertje van 11 maanden) verbleven in het appartement, en we hebben heimwee. In praktische zin was alles aanwezig en was de plek ook heel geschikt voor een baby/dreumes. Het was heel ruim en mooi ingericht met veel aandacht voor de authentieke elementen van het gebouw. En genoeg privacy en een eigen plekje buiten. Maar het beste van alles was de zorgzame aandacht van Paula. Het ontbijt (ook glutenvrij en vegetarisch beschikbaar en met producten van lokale makers) was fantastisch. Ze gaf ons veel goede lokale tips en was heel goed te bereiken. Waarin het verblijf sowieso echt uitblinkt tav veel andere airbnb’s is de persoonlijke en warme sfeer en dat je merkt dat de plek vanuit het hart wordt gerund. Er zit veel zorg en liefde in. We komen zeker terug als we weer in de Algarve zijn!

Unique location close to the castle hill. Beautifully renovated old house where we felt like home. Walkable distance to nice cafes and restaurants. Easy drive to stunning Atlantic Coast. Good WiFi connection and great facilities when you need to work remotely. Very approachable and friendly hosts. We can highly recommend this place.

Het huis is prachtig en hebben een fijn verblijf gehad. Genoten van het huis en het verwarmde zwembad. Helaas hadden we last van een stroomstoring waardoor we de eerste dagen daar problemen mee hadden. Ze hebben hun best gedaan om het zo goed mogelijk op te lossen. De omgeving is prachtig. Verse broodjes haalden we bij de supermarkt 500 meter verder.

Wir hatten sehr schöne Tage in der netten Ferienwohnung. Sie liegt ruhig und idyllisch und die Kinder hatten viel Platz zum toben. Sie war mit allem ausgestattet, was wir brauchten. Leider hatten wir etwas Pech mit dem Wetter und es war kalt und regnerisch. Ich hatte bei der Buchung nicht gesehen, dass es keine Heizung gibt. Allerdings konnten wir die Wohnung mit dem Kamin sehr gut heizen und genossen die Abende vor dem warmen Feuer. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen. Vielen Dank für die schönen Tage und das leckere selbstangebaute Obst und Gemüse!

We had pleasure staying at Ana&Michael’s place even we had some challenges. Because of lots of rain, several parts of the road leading to the house very flooded so it was a bit of challenge reaching it but we were able to. Other day as rain did not stop we had much more muddy road and even more water but our car managed to get us out. So in case of bad weather would suggest a at least having mini jeep or 4x4 so you don't have to worry about reaching and leaving the place. Apart from that all was great, it's a great place to get away from all the people and rushing and just enjoy nature and beautiful surroundings.

Monica’s place was great for our stay. It turned out that we had rain much of our 6 day stay and it was damp. Monica’s unit had wall mounted heaters (in the bedrooms and main room) that worked well. (These provide air conditioning in the hot months). Additionally the unit was spacious, clean and well laid out (which gave us space). The bed (we used only the primary bed) was comfortable and there was an additional warm blanket in the closet. (This speaks to the thoughtfulness.). The location is quiet (for sleeping) at night and is very convenient to tour (drive) around the Algarve.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour. Shirley et son mari sont accueillants, sympathiques et prévenants. L’appartement est propre et confortable. Nous recommandons totalement ce lieu de vacances.

Wow! What a place! So beautiful: inside & outside. What a gem! And such a nice and friendly hosts! We really hope to go back to this place anytime soon!

Lugar perfecto para conocer el Algarve, a 10 minutos de las playas del Sur, y a 25 minutos de las playas del Oeste. El lugar y el entorno es muy tranquilo y relajante. En todo momento estuvieron pendientes de que nuestra estancia fuese lo mejor posible. Gracias por todo, volveremos. 100% RECOMENDABLE

He ido unos dias con mi familia y 4 perros al alojamiento,como describir en un par de palabras la tranquilidad que había en ese lugar tan maravilloso,parecia sacado de un cuento de hadas,todo estaba perfecto,el dueño super atento y amable.Sin dudas nos dio mucha lastima irnos,ya que estabamos como en casa,lo recomiendo muchísimo,y al igual que Portugal conquistó nuestros corazones,por eso cuando volvamos próximamente sin dudas volveremos a este alojamiento 🫶🏻😍

My Portuguese home! I stayed for two months - could have stayed longer. The vibe of this place is wonderful, it instantly feels warm and cosy. A place to relax and recalibrate. The gardens are beautiful with lemon trees welcoming you from the entrance, almond trees blossoming and roses surrounding you whilst you dine alfresco. Kathleen was a super host, responsive and attentive. Lilian looked after me on site impeccably, even saving me after I’d locked myself out! Adriano was super friendly when he came weekly to clean the pool and look after the garden. The kitchen is great for home cooking with everything you need. The main shower was delicious and the main bed was like a dream. Everything has been thought about and is setup as a home and not as a airbnb (or hotel). Thanks Kathleen, see you again soon!

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour dans cette somptueuse villa. Encore merci pour tout! Cette maison , le lieu, l’hôte , tout était parfait! Je recommande vivement cette maison fantastique .

We took a group of adults for a working retreat for a week and this was the most wonderful space. It was well equipped, plenty of space to do workshops and group activities. The rooms are super comfortable with all the amenities. The kitchens are super well equipped and made making group meals really easy. Our host, Nick was very helpful and accommodating. This would be a great home for a large family or group of friends with kids. Walking out to the beautiful views in the morning was an added bonus.

Résidence spacieuse pour 12 personnes, jacuzzi et piscine au top surtout avec la chaleur. Maison bien équipée, grand parking pour les voitures. Bien située, avec beaucoup de choses à faire et voir aux alentours.

We hadden een paar geweldige dagen in de oude molen van Salir. Een prachtige en goedverzorgde plek met mooie bloemen en veel buitenruimte. De gastsuite blijft koel op warme dagen en heeft airconditioning. Adelmo en Rui zijn fantastische en enthousiaste gastheren. We werden verwelkomd met een rondleiding. Er stond vers fruit en eieren vsn eigen terrein voor ons klaar en koude drankjes in de koelkast. Ze gaven ons tips voor activiteiten in de omgeving en goede restaurants. Onze dochter mocht helpen met het voeren van de dieren. We maakten een mooie (berg)wandeling bij Rocha da Pena en vonden verkoeling in een natuurbad in het mooie plaatsje Alte. Het strand van Quarteira ligt op 25 minuten rijden. Als het zwembad gerepareerd is verdient deze oase 6 sterren, dank jullie wel we hebben ervan genoten!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Philippa et Paul, avec nos enfants de 4 et 2 ans. Le logement très cosy et paisible est très bien équipé (également pour des enfants en bas âge). Philippa a toujours été très réactive dans la communication et disponible en cas de besoin. Les indications disponibles l'attention des visiteurs nous ont été très utiles lors du séjour. Nous ne pouvons que recommander ce logement.

This home is a beautiful farm house in the area - you feel right at home when you arrive and it makes you want to move in. The property is so peaceful, calming and great for kids and outdoor meals. The location is wonderful and right in the middle of all of the beaches in the area. The hosts are incredibly helpful and communicative (the best communication I've encountered with an airbnb) - always there to respond to you if you have questions and help with anything that comes up. The house is also incredibly well equipped for multiple guests and a longer stay - the photos don't reveal just how many dishes, pots and pans, and other supplies the home has. As well, the windows have screens which is a HUGE plus that many airbnbs in the area do not have. If you are there in cooler or wetter weather, the house does get a little bit damp if you are sensitive to that but that is pretty common for most places in the area and the hosts have put things in place to help with it.

Het was geweldig om in de accommodatie van Frank en zijn gezin te verblijven. Je voelt je heel welkom en krijgt een rondleiding wanneer je arriveert. Het dakterras is een hele fijne toevoeging aan de accommodatie vanuit waar je een hele mooie zonsondergang kunt zien. Het was een feest om alle dieren om ons heen te hebben in zo’n liefdevolle omgeving!

We stayed at Monte de Choca for 5 weeks and from the first day we felt right at home. The cottage was beautiful and cosy especially with the log burner and the home had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The place is perfect for children with so many places for them to play and explore, my kids absolutely loved it, especially with the friendly dogs and cats around! For us, we love being in Nature so this place is amazing, allowing for relaxing days at the property, going to the beach or exploring the trails/hikes in the area, from countryside to coastal. Rudolph and Angelica were the perfect hosts, so friendly and helpful always, we were even supplied with fresh eggs from the chickens there which were amazing. Rudolph also let us borrow some of his bodyboards for which we were very grateful! Above everything else they are super nice people with a beautiful place and we hope to return in the near future

A great location for a mini-break! Everything I needed to feel at home, and Carlos is a friendly and pro-active host, recommending wonderful places to visit (by car) For an adventurous drive back to Lisboa, try the route through the mountains: West to Marmelete then head north. A beautiful drive, made more exciting by a few rockfalls!!

just the place we were looking for: huge surrounding with dozens things to do for the kids (chicken, private playground, fruit trees, big patio ...), huge apartment, nice interior, 2 lovely dogs and first of all wonderful hosts (easy going, many recommendations). the house is in the middle of nature. it takes 10 min to get to Aljezur and 20 min to different wonderful beaches. one of the best Airbnbs we ever had been to
