Lovely cottage in a beautiful location, well equipped with lots of homely touches and even lots of things left out for the dog on arrival (towels, treats, ball, dog bags). Plenty of fields for long walks and a huge luxurious hot tub in the Spa room. The host Kathryn was very informative leading up to our stay with lots of activities and places to go, and she was extremely quick to reply when we had questions during our time there. I’d highly recommend this cottage as a place to stay and would love to go back in the future.

We would definitely recommend this Air BnB, it is in a very private and peaceful area and the BnB itself was very clean and tidy. Upon arrival we were met by the host, who messaged us earlier on in the day to give us clear instructions on how to get to the correct location. The host introduced himself and showed us around the Air BnB, explaining how different amenities within the BnB worked, which made for a much more comfortable stay. The host was very kind, polite and welcoming, and was very happy for us to contact him incase there was anything we may need during our stay; he was also very helpful when recommending the best way to access the city centre from the air BnB. Just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely cozy cottage in the beautiful village of Addingham. The cottage was nice and clean with welcoming goodies on arrival. Lorraine provided is us with useful information of places to visit around the location and how to access the parking space before we arrived. The hot tub is so relaxing after a nice walk. We will definitely be back again. Thank you Lorraine & Hayley.

Excellent hosts home made cake lovely welcome pack was very nice touch even put candles on the cake and decorated for my birthday very helpful with local places to visit and eat rose barn was immaculate we felt right at home don’t essitate to book it’s stunning stay thankyou again

We’ve stayed in many rental properties in the U.K., Europe and USA and this is one of the best. Felt instantly at home. Beautifully decorated and fantastically well equipped we didn’t want for anything. Great for a short break but we could have happily stayed for weeks. Sally and Nick were so helpful and reassuring. We spent half our time planning a return visit this year and next! Well done

Me and my husband visited as a family with our 8 year old daughter and two tiny chihuahuas. Our dogs can be a bit happy which was absolutely my motivation for picking this location, secluded quiet and most importantly the courtyard area with the hot tub was entirely secure. Meaning we could relax in the hot tub without worrying about any unexpected puppy escapes. The place itself was beautiful inside , the only bathroom is in the main bedroom but in a family setting this is absolutely no issue. It was the perfect setting for cooking, playing board games and watching movies. We were able to walk the dogs, spend time as a family and all had a comfortable uninterrupted nights sleep. I can see us returning for sure!

The house looked even better in person than the photos and even they looked good! There’s plenty of room for a large group, there were 10 of us sleeping which I think is a good amount otherwise it’s sofa beds and with everyone getting up at different times this wouldn’t have been ideal. The house has so much going on with personal touches, all weekend we kept noticing different things and having a laugh about them, it’s definitely unique. Our bride had the best time, she loved the house 🩶 would definitely recommend for a hen party. We went into York and a Uber was less than £20 each way for 4 of us. The views are stunning and Helen and her partner are just on hand next door if you need anything. The neighbours are lovely! The gentlemen across the drive deserves a shout out as he was so welcoming and chatty. Thank you! Sharla

We have just spent a couple of wonderful days walking up penyghent. Moira's cottage was wonderful. Really clean and cosy and stocked with everything we needed. The walk up to pen-y-ghent starts literally right outside the doorstep which is very handy and a comfortable bed is exactly what we needed after the long walk. Thank you Mouira for your hospitality.

We had a lovely couple of days at Brandybuck cottage. Superb location in the heart of Kirkby Stephen with the high street a minute walk away and some gorgeous walks around the local area straight from the cottage. The cottage itself is a real home from home with a well equipped kitchen,comfy beds and a decent shower. There was plenty of space for our family of 4 with 2 older children(who appreciated the TV in each bedroom). Communication from the host was excellent with directions and check in details clearly explained so arrival and check in was a smooth process. Parking is on a road to the rear of the property which again was clearly explained and Marks directions took us to the exact place to park with further clear directions from there to access the rear of the cottage. Tea,coffee,sugar,milk and a packet of biscuits was provided upon arrival which was a nice touch and much appreciated. We booked this cottage as a last minute break and it is a real gem of a find.

Absolutely perfect little get away in a lovely area. My girlfriend really liked it and wants to go again. Very cosy and private place with a little garden for the dogs. Beautiful surroundings will 100% be booking again. Very responsive host even though we got there late. Thanks again

Lovely cottage in ideal location with walking distance to the beach. Very clean and tastefully decorated. Kitchen was very well equipped. Extremely comfortable bed so that was a bonus. Nick is a great host and responds quickly. I will definitely be back when I'm next on the area.

What can I say... Absolutely fantastic place. You couldn't ask for anything more. Really peaceful location with fantastic views of the hills etc. We had a strange issue but this was sorted out very swiftly by Malcolm 👍 We will definitely be looking to book again and have another peaceful time just watching the world go by. Simply wonderful : we can not think of a single thing that was not 100%, everything exceeded our expectations. Definitely not a soulless corporate run Airbnb! The interior design was outstanding and individual without being overpowering, adding to the sense of calm that the location gives. Super clean throughout. Oh and the bedding, it was out of this world. Everything we needed was provided, the log burner a joy in the chillier evenings. Great walks and the bus stop is directly opposite (every 3 hours, check the timetable, the drivers don’t linger) into York.

Ideal base for a few nights away, lovely location and beautiful little cottage. Had all the amenities you could possibly need, with a few extra touches by Penny which were well received so thank you. Would definitely recommend 🙂

We had a really lovely stay at Curlew Cottage for my husbands 40th birthday weekend. It was a great base to explore the surrounding area as we are into our walks. The house itself was beautifully presented, spacious, very clean and had everything we needed. The setting was very peaceful with beautiful views all around. We spotted lots of wildlife which was lovely. We would highly recommend and hope to visit again in the future.

We would definitely recommend to stay here! This cosy cottage is the perfect place for some peace. The log burner is well equipped and very warm. James was a great host and made us feel very welcome. He was attentive, happy to help and share advice/ recommendations on the local area which had plenty of walks, places to eat etc. If the sky is clear you will be in for a treat with the sky! 🌌

We loved our stay at The Vault! It was cosy, clean, and had everything we needed. Fantastic location too being only a 10 minute walk in to the centre of town. Alex was very responsive too if I had any questions! Would definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting Hexham/the surrounding areas :)

A nice cottage located in beautiful rolling hills, primarily overlooking the West Northumberland scenery. Photos look just like the property and the location is really good, far enough away from any towns yet close enough to Haydon Bridge and Hexham to go for supplies or a restaurant if needed. Awesome views. Cottage was comfortable, bed and pillows are quite soft though. Bathroom was good, nice large shower, well catered for with soaps and shampoos etc. Kitchen was spacious and had everything you needed, besides maybe a few more glass dishes for cooking with. Easily accessible from the road, just down a short driveway to a dedicated gravel car parking spot for 2 cars. Please note that there is a similar holiday cottage right next door, something the photos do not show, so be prepared to share the car park with neighbours and that both the front porches / verandas can somewhat overlook one another to the side and you can hear conversations. All in all a nice stay, would recommend.

If I could rate this 10 stars I would have. Great location, cosy but just right fit for our family of 5, great amenities and amazing decor (even a male philistine like myself can appreciate it so it must be good). Can’t thank Matthew and Liz enough for making our stay so enjoyable. They even provided spectacular weather at no extra charge 😬. Will hope to come again soon!

Four of us have just spent 3 nights in Peewit Cottage. From the moment we arrived, we all felt right at home, the place was spotless, beds very comfortable too! Everything you could possibly need for a self catering stay was provided. Having the private hot tub was fabulous, we loved it after full days of being tourists in the local area. On a separate note, we would highly recommend a visit to Beamish Museum which was about a 30 min drive, we also spent a day in Durham City & booked a 2.5 hr History/City Tour with walkaboutdurham - highly recommended. Tour Guide Peter is very knowledgeable & so passionate about his job plus he gives everyone a "free" cocktail voucher for Turtle Bay - well deserved after 2.5hrs walking around the City 🤣🤣
