Barra Island : locations de vacances

It is a wonderful place to unwind and just stare out of the big window in front of a little fire after a good hiking day. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious what made cooking joyful. I loved it and hope to return one day.

I had a magical few days staying in this beautiful chalet. I knew it was going to be great from the reviews, but I didn’t know it would be quite so special. The chalet is right at the end of a quiet, single track lane, directly on a loch, with what must be some of the best views in the islands. Theres a decking where you can sit and watch the seal colonies and otters a few meters away, and buzzards, eagles and incredible stars overhead. The chalet itself is immaculately clean, warm and cosy (I stayed in a cold, early April and was very comfortable). Angus and Joan were wonderful hosts, responsive, kind and warm. Joan brought me fresh eggs, and made me feel like one of the family. My only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer. I would come back again in a heartbeat.

I’m from Skye, family is there. And it was a perfect place for us to stay close to family on a visit. It was absolutely A1 ever was brilliant and we didn’t want to leave. We will return next year hopefully Thanks again so much to Wendy It’s hard to find perfection when renting a holiday let, yet this place was perfect for us 5 stars

What a magical place! We absolutely loved our stay here and already dream of coming back. The inside is soooo beautiful and comfortable that we didn’t mind staying in on rainy days. We could never get sick of watching the sheep roaming the hillsides or the ever changing coast from the fabulous sunroom. The only downside is we were unaware of the time involved to bring the wood-fired hot tub up to temp. It takes an hour to fill with water and “up to 3.5 hours to heat in the winter”. Since we can’t leave the fire unattended, we weren’t able to enjoy it until our third night since we arrived home so late on the previous nights. It is also very hard to find in the dark and the pin led us to the wrong spot. Google Mapsing the house name took us to the right spot, but we arrived in the dark and were unable to see the sign to the bottom right of the gate. Everything else was completely perfect and we highly recommend staying in this lovely place.

Beautiful place, the photos really don't do it justice. Very modern, clean and well laid out. We really appreciated the extra touches, the toiletries and essentials in the kitchen were great. We also loved our visits from Lulu (the cat) in the evenings. Thank you for having us.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the beautiful little cottage. Like a tardis with a nice roomy, cosy interior. Lots of space for cooking and very well equipped. The cottage has a fascinating history, which we learned from Maria, information in the cottage and a mention in the Kildonian museum, which especially opened for us as it closes for the winter in October. Despite the closure of cafes and tourist sites for the winter, we still managed lots of beautiful walks with magical views, and to shop well for a restorative feast at the end of the day. Also, enjoyed a fanastic evening of Scottish music at the Ceolas centre and a trip to Barra and the cafe in the lovely community gardens there, plus stocking up on seafood at the Barratlantic shop and things to take home at the Buth Bharraigh community shop. A lovely place to stay and a great location.

Good communications and Ronnie even popped round to see how I’d settled in. Instructions on finding the place were spot on, I was left with no doubt as to where the cottage is. There is an information folder which is concise and helpful The cottage is perfect for my needs, as a single traveller for work. It’s ideal for singles or a couple to explore the islands. The Hebridean Way goes right past the cottage Excellent WiFi - speed good enough to stream TV and a helpful guide on how to connect etc. The place is clean with the right amount of amenities. Heating is good and instructions are great. Thank you also for the welcome gift. It’s my favourite! Would definitely stay here again

Beautifully decorated and well appointed home. Great location - 5 min walk from the co-op, 15 mins walk to the centre of Castlebay. We stayed with our two young kids and their grandparents. Everyone was comfortable, there were appropriately designed bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate all ages. The house was warm throughout and features a comfy living room, big dining table - and a bright and welcoming kitchen with a nice, smaller table for breakfast. Definitely hope to stay here again and happily recommend.

Après une journée dans un nature "hostile" (l'écosse début mars), le logement se doit d'être confortable et bien équipé, deux caractéristiques évidentes de la maison proposée par Juliet (literie de qualité / cuisine fonctionnelle et complète / cheminée et espaces détente accueillants / 2 SDB). La maison est bien située, à 30-40 minutes des randonnées / visites incontournables de l'ile, et au calme absolu. Je recommanderais cette location à des amis qui souhaitent visiter Skye sans aucune hésitation, et, ma femme et moi attendons avec impatience d'y retourner.
