We had a great week at Oran na Cuthaig. The house is as described, spacious, very comfortable and with everything you might need. It provided an ideal base for our family (including dog) to explore Lewis & Harris. There are some nice walks from the house with gorgeous views (also from the house - the changing sky is mesmerising). The house is very central with most sights max 40 mins or so drive away. Favourites of ours were Bostadh, Uig and Mangarsta, Luskentyre, and Calanais. Stornoway is under 20 mins away (with fast EV chargers!). Another big hit was fantastic pizza from Crust only 10 mins away (perfect for swinging by on the way home from a day out but definitely worth advance ordering online if you can). Eleanor was a responsive and very helpful host. Thanks again for having us - we hope to be back!

The house is located in a really beautiful and peaceful area, with great access to both Lewis and Harris. The house is surrounded by fields (croft), to which you have access to walk and discover the surroundings and wildlife. I really enjoyed walking down to the loch side and along the water at low tide to spot the seals every afternoon. Cathie and Les are great hosts, I had some great conversation with Les about the history of the place, wildlife, and areas to visit. The house is spotless and the view from each window out to the surroundings is incredible . Les said, "this airBnb is to us more than just handing the keys", and I think this resume really well how they welcomed us. strongly recommend!

A wonderful cosy house with a spectacular outlook in a great location ( just outside Tarbet) for exploring the southern end of Isle of Harris. Well equipped , very clean and cosy. We appreciated the communication with the host - very responsive and reliable. Enjoyed our five days there immensely.

A great house in a very convenient location, walkable to everything in Stornoway and easy to get out to other parts of the island from. The house was very clean and well appointed, parking on the street outside was easy, and overall we had everything we needed. The sunny back patio was particularly lovely. The only small downsides were the bed, which was very hard (but this is pretty standard in Britain so not surprising), and the neighbours on one side were a bit loud (but not through the night so again, not a deal breaker, just a bit irritating). Overall would stay here again if needing a place in Stornoway.

The accommodation was thoughtfully and beautifully presented with more than usual provision of supplies and treats. The outlook was rather confined but for a short stay or if one were out and about as we were,it made a perfect base.

If seeing Sea Eagles and Sea Otters in the wild is on your bucket list, North Shore is for you. If being greeted early morning by Stags grazing a few feet from your front door appeals, then North Shore is for you. If sitting in a hot tub under a cloudless sky, looking at meteors, satellites and a million stars is your thing, then North Shore is for you. If fresh Langoustine, Crab and Scallops (there was more choice!) are your idea of food heaven, nearby Islander Shellfish in Stornoway will make you very happy! Stornoway black pudding - wow! Incredible, breathtaking scenery. Above all, Lewis and Harris Islanders were incredibly friendly and helpful, and Catriona and Kenny set the tone of our stay right from the start. Safe to say that it was one of the best holidays ever. Only regret is I didn’t book for twice as long! Although that does mean unfinished business and a return to North Shore will happen all being well. Thank you, Catriona and Kenny, for an unforgettable stay.

We had a brilliant stay in Hebrides Cottage, owner Janice was excellent with her quick, helpful communication….we found everything we could possibly want or need was provided…..it was exceptionally clean. The cottage was in a fantastic peaceful location, the views from the bedrooms and kitchen were absolutely amazing. We visited local restaurants in Stornoway, and it was very easy to drive in to go to a variety of small shops and get supplies from the large Tesco and Co-op supermarkets. We visited many local sites, Callanish Stones, Dun Calloway - the best preserved Broch, Gearrannan Blackhorse, Butt of Lewis, Lews Castle and the very informative museum about Hebridean island life, we will definitely come back to stay again. Thank you Janice for a great stay.

Comfortable croft with everything we needed! Better than the photos and it was easy to communicate with the host. The surroundings are peaceful and beautiful!
