The room was exactly as advertised, clean, good location and everything you needed. It’s actually a very quiet street and location especially at night time while you’re trying to sleep. I didn’t hear any street noises. Akeesh and her family were absolutely wonderful, very caring and helpful. Unfortunately I became unwell while I was there and Akeesh kept checking in on me (via messages) to see if I was ok or needed anything, she brought me food and drinks and when I still didn’t get better took me to the doctor. I will be forever grateful for her hospitality and kindness. Prior to becoming sick I thought she was a great host but seeing her true character of being there for someone when you need them, she became a super host to me. I didn’t expect nor ask for her help she just offered. I would 100% recommend this beautiful little apartment with this lovely family just below

You will enjoy the stay at Nimal. Place is close to Unwatuna beach 20 min walking and almost 7 min by TukTuk. The place is spacious and you can find everything you need. The area is calm, relaxing and safe. Thank you and will definitely come again

De beste plek tot nu toe in Sri Lanka! De kamer, keuken en badkamer zijn ruim, zeer schoon en fijn ingedeeld. Je hebt een warme douche en wc papier. Koelkast en vriezer werken goed. Je hebt een plekje om lekker te zitten en te eten. Het bed ligt comfortabel en de klamboe is goed! De familie is heel aardig. Je voelt je erg thuis. Locatie is naar ons idee ook perfect. Minuut lopen naar het eerste strand. Je kan er lekker op ligbedjes liggen en een kokosnoot bestellen (etc). Stukje verderop is schildpadden strand, wat leuk is om naartoe te gaan. Je kan fietsen huren, dan kan je ook naar andere strandjes of de omgeving verkennen. Al met al: een echte aanrader!!

Nalaka and his family are the highlight of this place. You get your privacy but you also feel completely embraced by the presence of a loving family. Nalaka is an extremely gifted cook, the kingfish he made for my dinner upon arrival was exceptional. The house is truly beautiful and the passion of hosting and taking care of guests is so genuine. It’s humbling to be here and such a privilege to be welcomed the way I was ❤️ thank you so much Nalaka and Verasheh

Gianluca ist ein sehr freundlicher Gastgeber, er war immer gut erreichbar. Er hat uns viele Empfehlungen gegeben und war stets hilfsbereit zum Beispiel bei der Organisation eines Scooters. Auch der Check-in sowie Check-out war flexibel. Die Unterkunft ist an einer optimalen Lage und fast direkt am Meer. Leider hört man nachts den Strassenverkehr, was uns aber nicht gestört hat. Die Unterkunft ist modern eingerichtet und man fühlt sich direkt wohl. Um etwas zu kochen ist alles Material vorhanden. Die Unterkunft war sauber und wurde auch während unserem Aufenthalt kostenlos gereinigt. Im Vergleich zu anderen Unterkünften in Ahangama ist die Unterkunft eher etwas teuer, wir würden sie aber trotzdem wieder buchen :-)

We stayed at Sajeewa’s home for three weeks and could not recommend it enough. It’s spacious, comfortable and clean. The kitchen is sufficiently equipped to cook meals and save money on eating out. The gardens around the house are lush and invite lots of birds for watching in the early mornings. The balcony is such a highlight, it’s serene and peaceful, you could spend hours there chatting, working or simply staring into nature. Sajeewa and his family are so hospitable and very easy to communicate with, they made our stay feel very homely. Local shops are within walking distance and Weligama beach is a 20 minute walk at best. We would definitely stay with Sajeewa again if we’re back in Weligama.

We really loved our stay in the apartment. It's very nicely designed and has everything that's needed. Also, we really enjoyed cooking in the outside kitchen. The place has a nice working area if you ever need to be productive. Eva was a great host. She was there for us all the time and helped us a lot with everything. The beach is very close and several shops aren't far away.

Superb place for basing yourself whilst visiting Unawatuna, situated in a great location just on the outskirts of Unawatuna. I found Lotus Bloom excellent for facilities which are required for a short stay or long stay. The neighbourhood is situated in a peaceful residential superb. I found all communications with Numan first class and was always very quick to respond to any queries. I would also like to mention Shalika the caretaker who was always very responsive to my needs in a positive manner. I would defiently recommend Lotus Bloom if your thinking of visiting Unawatuna you will not be disappointed.

A beautiful place in an awesome location with private access to a stunning beach. We loved our stay and the staff were extremely helpful and cooked great dishes both for breakfast and dinner.

Ricky's place is simply wonderful - the house itself, the high ceilings and all the details, the view, the sunrise every morning, the breeze, the little Blue Beach nearby... The location is perfect - close enough to amazing beaches but still far enough from noisy, popular places. We had everything we needed and I only wish we stayed longer. Madu, who is assisting Ricky, is super helpful. He organized the airport transfer and then subsequent urgent transfer to the hospital in Matara because our little son got quite sick. Madu also gave us great tips for places to eat and beaches nearby. One of the cutest things was Mati - the dog of the property. My kids wanted to take Mati back home with us, and if we could, we would have - an amazing dog. We will be happy to be back one day and stay for a while. This airbnb feels like a home instantly.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié ces quelques jours chez Nilu. Jolie maison, joli jardin, Nilu et sa famille on été très accueillants. Idéalement située, à quelques minutes de kabalana beach dans un quartier légèrement en retrait de l’effervescence de la côte. Merci !!

Terrene Villa was everything and more. Jalal responded quickly to any queries before arrival and during the booking process. We stayed for two weeks as a family of 4, plus daughter's boyfriend. The villa is stunning and just as described. Sri Lanka is the gift that keeps on giving and Terrene Villa is the perfect place to enjoy it all. Suda and Judi (apologies if I have spelt their names wrong) were a delight and looked after us very well. Their breakfasts were enjoyable and the fresh juices were delicious. The gardens were kept beautifully and what a joy to see monkeys in the trees and on the roof! Viraj sorted all our travel and day trips out and was always quick to reply and make suggestions. We were so sad to leave the villa, it really is an oasis of calm.

Beautiful house in a calm space just outside of the busy Hiriketiya streets. The staff were so helpful and easy to communicate with. Some music kept us awake on Monday from a nearby bar, but finished relatively early and it only seems to be a weekly occurrence. Thanks for a great stay!

Harshana and family are excellent hosts. I was looking for a quiet vacation spot and that's what I found. Access to multiple markets for purchasing fresh fruit and vegetables, beach life including surfing lessons, rentals and cabana life, are all within walking distance. Suggestions for local specialties and eateris are encouraged. Treat bags gifts with Hoppers, and fresh baked goods made me experiment more with local delicacies. This stay will be tough to beat. Finally, Matara's people are friendly and helpful. As good as the world could ask for.

We had a fantastic stay at the Blue Beach House! The accommodation is so beautiful, well-maintained, and surrounded by a lovely outdoor space. The accomodation is located just two walking-minutes away from the Blue Beach, a stunning and peaceful spot to relax. And its also within walking distance to the vibrant and picturesque Hiriketiya. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by our host, who gave us a great tour of the property and explained everything we needed to know. The house is fully equipped with air conditioning, a spacious kitchen with a fridge, a washing machine, and two comfortable bedrooms, each with its own lovely bathroom. The charming garden offers a perfect place to unwind, whether on the sun loungers or in the hammocks, and the outdoor shower provides a refreshing cool-down. Whenever we needed anything, we had a contact person available at all times, which made our stay even more enjoyable. This is truly an idyllic accommodation. We can highly recommend it and wou

Wir waren zu viert im Airbnb und haben am Schluss alle die Meinung geteilt, dass wir nicht weg wollten. Das Haus ist sehr schön eingerichtet und der tägliche Ausblick war fantastisch zum Entspannen. Sollte man dennoch etwas unternehmen wollen, stand uns das Team von Ben (geführt durch Lakshan) hilfsbereit und super herzlich zur Seite. Die Kommunikation mit Lakshan war immer top, und wir sind sehr dankbar, dort auf so herzliche Menschen getroffen zu sein. Demnach eine große Empfehlung! :)

We stayed at Sanjayas place for four nights. The family was super kind and helped us with local advice such as restaurants and must-sees close by. They arranged transport to the house and again when we left. Their hospitality was warm and made us feel welcome. We would definitly recommend this place to others.

Pavi, Bathi and their family and friends are the loveliest of people, always ready to help or offer advice when needed. Our apartment was situated on the 2nd floor and was lovely, bedroom and bathroom bare very large as is the kitchen diner, if there was anything you needed Pavi got it sorted asap, the grounds are immaculate and have a plethora of wildlife wandering the grounds, the use of the swimming pool was a great addition. Polhena itself is situated in a great spot for travelling out from and has a wonderful little beach(it does get busy at weekends). Shops are in walking distance as is the main town of Matara or a short fun tuk tuk ride. Colombo and other places are easily accessible via buses or train, both a fun way to travel. We will be back.

We had one of our best airbnb experiences globally at Mahakiya Fitness, at which this apartment is the best lodging of all the options. Private, stylish, beautifully furnished, but with easy access to a great health food restaurant and the amazing fitness / HIIT classes at Mahakiya. And the most hospitable and friendly staff. I had an amazing stay at Crystal Villa Weligama, a perfect retreat for relaxation and productivity. The villa features 3 beautifully designed bedrooms, making it ideal for families or groups. The cozy living room and dining area are perfect for unwinding and enjoying meals together. The fully-equipped kitchen has everything you need, and with fiber optic internet, it’s great for digital nomads. Located in a calm and quiet area, the villa offers a large garden for relaxation. Just 800 meters from the beach and town, it’s a short 5-10 minute walk to enjoy the sun and surf. The neighborhood is safe and secure, ideal for families. The host, Ruwan, is incredibly helpful, ensuring a comfortable stay. Crystal Villa Weligama is one of the best places to stay in the area, offering comfort, convenience, and tranquility. I highly recommend it for both work and leisure.

Very worth for the price! Easy to walk to nearby beaches and cafes. Definitely hard to sleep in at all since the road gets quite loud with busses honking. The house is next to the forest/jungle so there are many small bugs like ants in the bathroom and sometimes the bedroom but it’s not so bad, just something to be aware of. The power went out a few times during our stay but apparently that’s pretty normal for this region especially if it is raining. Overall would still recommend for good location and price. Padma was able to do our laundry as well for a small fee

We had a wonderful stay at Sahan’s place - the location was perfect being a few minutes walk from Blue Beach on one side and Hiriketiya on the other with amazing restaurant/ seafood choices. Avisa was always on hand with great suggestions of what to do and he booked us lots of TukTuks and taxis, he was very helpful. He also served a great breakfast in the garden every morning. The only downside is that the living room part of the apartment became very hot, but the views to the sea from there were great.
