I don’t think I can describe just how wonderful a trip this was but I will try. David was fantastic. To start the place was absolutely spotless and had a super clean kitchen and bathroom. The linens were very clean and there were plenty of towels for the hot tub and shower. The kitchen had a great oven that was a convection oven. There was also a cast-iron skillet, which is so essential. I hate cooking on nonstick because you never know what kind of toxic stuff you’re putting into your food so having a grill, cast-iron skillet, and breakfast skillet was amazing. While we were there, there was a flash flood. While there was no flood to be seen in the house because it’s on a hill, the roadway was temporarily impossible to traverse. David brought us fresh chicken from his farm and it was fantastic. He made sure that we were safe when we did leave once the water had subsided. The hot tub was very clean. It looked brand new. The Internet was very fast and we had no problem watching TV.

Ive stayed at this wonderful home many times so I knew it was a treasure. However, the newest owner Gretchen really made this place even better. Clean, cozy, it has everything you need for a perfect moutain getaway. All the little touches and welcoming treats were greatly appreciated and enjoyed. Can't wait to return!

Ms. Michelle hosted my team as we were in town for a tournament and we thoroughly enjoyed the large space with the nice bedrooms, spacious living rooms, and the hot tub. We had access to everything we needed, with Ms. Michelle even getting some extra towels for us. A great stay!

We stayed for two nights, and the cabin was beautifully decorated with a stunning property. The hot tub was a huge hit with the kids! One thing to note for future guests—the river is not as close as it may seem. It’s a pretty steep hike down to the dock and back up. While the view is absolutely gorgeous and the walk is worth it, not everyone may find it accessible. That said, the cabin itself was perfect—super comfy beds, plenty of cookware and utensils, and a cozy atmosphere. We had a fantastic time and would definitely stay again!

The Empty Nest was a peaceful escape for our family of 8. Plenty of open space around the home, a spacious in the living room for family games, and a well-equipped kitchen that met our needs. The hot tub and fire pit are excellent amenities to the home. The host was very responsive to our questions and needs! I highly recommend this stay.

Kaitlin's place has such great reviews so I'm sort of copping out yet also being very thorough by saying: they are all true. The space is so wonderful, serene, exactly as described and pictured, stocked, equipped, ETCETERA. The brook actually babbles, there is actual wildlife, the vibes are simply impeccable. I kept thinking how my two little boys - who I came to this place w/ hubs to escape from for a bit - would have loved it because it's truly so magical. But also, extremely perfect for non-kid people looking for a little silence and bucolic perfection. Seriously though, the listing mentions not great for kids and I agree, depending on ages. Mine are 3 and 6, so yeah, glad we left them at home. Every detail in the house is so thoughtful, vintage items everywhere including the oven and stove, really cool farmhouse feel throughout while also having all the amenities the first world knows and loves. 10/10, say less, book it.

Great place to stay, to get away from the busy world

My kids and I loved going between kayaking, enjoying the hot tub, and relaxing. Lovely spot!

This was a trip I got for my parents (in their 50s) and they had a wonderful time despite the weather being less than ideal (super rainy). When they got home they were happy and excited to share the adventure. Even went as far as to say they saw a glimpse of what their retirement could look like. So, I highly recommend as a gift to someone who enjoys the peace and serenity of the outdoors with someone they love (or go with you and your loved one if you enjoy that stuff as well)

We had a nine day stay at this property. Really liked the location. It felt quiet and and calm, but it was still very close to everything that was needed. There's a grocery store, and many other essential businesses minutes away. It's also a short drive to downtown. We also saw deer crossing the stream every evening we sat outside. Regarding the property itself: - The property was as described - Kitchen utensils and cooking equipment were well stocked - A good supply of spices (and coffee pods) so we didn't need to buy a bunch of throw away stuff - All appliances worked well Regarding the Host: - Communication was quick and thorough. All questions (before and during stay) were answered - A lot of documentation was provided for the property and nearby activities. Overall, this was an enjoyable stay for us. - Due to the time of the year, there were days we needed the heater and days that we needed the AC. Both worked well.

Everything about this place was great! Everything was modern, super clean, and worked great. We loved the decor of the property, and the goats outside were an added bonus! The location was perfect for the hiking that we wanted to do. Hunter and his team were super responsive and easy to communicate with. No problems what-so-ever, and we would highly recommend Hunter and this property.

I had a great stay! Such a cozy, safe feeling in the quaint cabin. I found it extremely relaxing and I was able to decompress. The surrounding were also very peaceful. I had an amazing view of the sunsets every night. All the appliances worked great, including the stove. The check in and out was extremely easy and all of my communication with the host was very friendly and responded to right away. I hope to be back, thank you so much!

Couldn’t recommend enough! A perfect place to disconnect and spend time surrounded by nature and fun loving farm animals. Will be returning for sure!

This was a beautiful, peaceful, and a well appointed home. Situated on a large well maintained property, and was modern and extremely clean. We really enjoyed the fire pit and the snacks were a plus! If you are looking for a private getaway, this is your spot. The Blue Ridge Parkway was also a short drive away, with many beautiful overlook points along the way.

Very comfortable stay super close to Cave Spring. We had everything we needed and loved being able to spread out and have the fenced in yard for our dog. Rhonda was extremely proactive with instructions.

Great glamping experience. Christina's place was clean, comfortable, had everything we needed, and Christina was incredibly kind and helpful. Definitely recommended.

This cozy cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It is rustic, quiet, clean in a peaceful country setting. It was just as pictured with our host Crystal having an easy check in/out process while maintaining our privacy. We really enjoyed this stay.

Such a great cabin for some much needed TLC. We were hoping to hike the Peaks of Otter, but the weather had other plans. We arrived kind of late, but Andy met us at the farm entrance & led the way up the hill to the cabin. He showed us around & have us lots of helpful information. We spent the rainy day driving around the mountains & checking out historic Bedford. We stopped off at Beale’s Brewery for some local beer & food. Great spot! Then for dinner had Bella’s Italian, which was phenomenal! The garlic knots were addicting! We spent the evening relaxing on the back porch enjoying the peaceful views. Sunday the weather was much better so we hiked to the top of the property for the spectacular views. We cooked breakfast in the kitchen each morning, we had everything we needed. The bed was very cozy & the gas fireplaces were so nice & warm! Couldn’t ask for a better cabin getaway! We’ll definitely come back to take another shot at hiking the peaks!

If you are looking for a quiet place to relax, this is it! The cabin was immaculate and cozy and had everything (and more) that was stated in the description. Dan and Lisa were wonderful hosts; checked in to make sure I was settled and didn’t need anything and were so easy to communicate with. I would absolutely stay again and hope to and would recommend it to anyone looking to get away !

Charming log cabin. Perfect for our Men's group two night stay. Host was very responsive when asked a couple questions.

Beautiful campground with a nice canoe launch site. We got lucky since we were the only ones at the campground. It was very quiet and beautiful!

Man if you want charm and style with a great peaceful country view, this is the spot. We relaxed in the porch all evening and listened to the breeze.
