What a gem! Every room has the most amazing view of the mountains. Bed was comfortable. Linens clean and fresh. Kitchen well stocked. I loved the oven. Even baked some biscuits. The weather was not great, so we braaied in the inside fire place. Luckily my husband brought his own braai grid. I would suggest if you are a braai person to bring your own braai grid and stand. Otherwise nothing else needed. The road was not a big challenge as we drove an AWD. I don't think a sedan would be suffice. A high clearance vehicle rather. Andrew came and checked on us which was much appreciated. Our doggos also loved the house and the walks.

Oh what a beautiful & peaceful place to be in. The pictures honestly do not do justice, it’s much more beautiful in person with gorgeous surroundings and the rooms are huge. The restaurant, playground and horse riding being in the same estate are a cherry on top. My family and I will definitely be coming back.

Our stay at the Magical cottage was exactly what we needed to get away from the hustle and bustle. Elmine was the perfect host, making us feel at home with the tasty rusks, extra firewood, etc. The views are truly wonderful and peaceful. We loved our morning coffee in the veranda and had plenty company from the Southern Boubous, mousebirds and many others. Thanks and we will be back.

Angela’s thatched rondavel is gorgeous! We had a lovely two night stay, the shower had great pressure, the bed is very comfy, there is everything you need for simple meals and to have a braai, we had a lovely swim in the pool and absolutely loved the garden. Definitely a hidden gem in Howick.

Great place with an awesome view and homely feel in the beautiful Drakensberg mountains. Great place for hikers and nature lovers or if you just want to relax. Well equipped home that lacks nothing. Host is very responsive and friendly. We just loved it there and will return. Thank you!

We had an incredible stay. Debby & John exceeded our expectations in every way & we will be planning another visit very soon. They were super helpful, gave us lots of info on activities in the area, & even kept in touch when we went hiking to make sure we were back safe. We cannot recommend this treasure-stay enough, you will NOT be disappointed. Thank you so so much Debby & John.

Really enjoyed our stay, magnificent view of Cathkin Peak. Recommendations for eating out were great - went to Farmers Fork & Valley Bakery. Dave assisted us with unloading the car. Chalet was really good - had everything we needed
