We were visiting family nearby and were so pleased with this home. It was quirky and full of character. The secure garden was perfect and everything was so neat and proper. It had excellent facilities and the little touches like coffee, tea and milk were perfect. The fact that dogs are allowed was very welcoming and kind. The only thing was the main road was quite loud but just bring some ear plugs and you’ll be absolutely fine. It’s worth it for this property which has everything you could need in a very beautiful village. We would 100% return if we came back to the area.

We had a lovely relaxing stay. The house was lovely. My teenage son most enjoyed the big tv on the wall. It’s walkable to the town so we ate out there. We were able to spend the day with our daughter before dropping her off at university.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Dave’s place in Dalton. The location was ideal for us, as it is nearby our friends’ houses. The property was very nicely furnished and suited our needs perfectly. The kitchen was stocked with a few essentials as we arrived. A nice touch! The beds were very comfortable; the linens and towels were soft and like new. The property grounds are beautiful and close to public byways/hiking paths. We look forward to coming back and experiencing walks in the warmer months. Dave was very responsive. We had a bad storm and the power went out just before midnight. Dave answered our call and came to check on us straightaway. It seemed to be a freak event and the power was restored really quickly. Dave then called us a few days later to check if we needed anything else during our stay. We would definitely stay here again!!

Anke and Matt went out of their way to make our stay very comfortable. Parking can be tricky. Very well equipped kitchen and utility area. The rooms are spacious. Antique furniture gives it an old world feel. Overall a lovely place to stay.

Lovely stay at Samantha’s place. Fully equipped kitchen which was great when cooking for Christmas Day! Would thoroughly recommend. Comfy beds, super clean and felt homely. Please note for any larger guests looking to stay, bathroom is very compact.

What a wonderful find this was! Helen was so friendly and helpful when needed and at the same time left me to have a peaceful stay. I didn't want to leave at the end of my stay. Lovely homely touches everywhere and very comfortable. Everything is provided including so many different birds on the bird feeder. It was special to see Percy the peacock and the chickens roaming around too. I hope to be back.

Words cannot describe how wonderful Adam's house is. If you are in two minds about booking don't give it another thought, go ahead and book! Not only was the house beautiful and spotless, Adam was extremely accommodating, as we were very lucky with the warm weather he managed to arrange some fans within the hour! Absolutely fantastic host, can't recommend enough!

We only stayed the night for our anniversary but it was amazing definitely booking again for a full weekend

Absolutely loved our stay here the night after we got married, was the perfect place to celebrate just the two of us ❤️ we loved it that much we’ve already booked to try one of the other lodges on our 1st wedding anniversary!

We had a beautiful stay at The Boathouse, it was just like the photos we were extremely impressed. We had the best time as a family of 4 inc our pooch who also enjoyed his stay. Lots of fun, laughter, relaxing & memory making .. perfect. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and being a super friendly host x

A gorgeous nights stay in the Gingerbread Hut. Immaculately presented. Warm and cosy with every little consideration thought of and catered to from lamps to good quality bedding to hot water bottles. Spotlessly clean. Excellent site for kids with the games room being a huge hit. We were there for one night and felt entirely replenished and relaxed after it. I couldn’t fault it.

A perfect break away with my son and grandchildren and our dog. Very friendly hosts and beautiful location. Additional touches like biscuits, marshmallows for the fire and logs for a fire pit were really appreciated. The cabin layout was very clever and unique and comfortable, the kitchen close by well stocked. We didn’t want to leave and will definitely be back!
