Andi and Hayden are great hosts and the space was perfect for us (3 couples). The farmhouse is beautifully decorated, with a fantastic kitchen and comfy beds, and we enjoyed the hot tub and all of the little extras, like robes and breakfast fixings. Thanks again!

I would recommend it to anyone who wants a nice quiet stay hot tub was relaxing and the separate cabin was a plus for couples looking to get away.

This place is amazing and the pictures don’t do it justice. We stayed here for a week at the end of August and this cottage is set on the most amazing lake which is perfect for swimming and all water activities. They provided everything you could really think of like bedding, towels and laundry facilities. Every single evening we were surrounded by deer as they come onto the property to eat which was incredible to see. Would highly suggest this cottage to anybody looking for a week in paradise. We had an unforgettable experience during our stay and look forward to returning next year. The island was beautiful, the many different houses accommodated our large group and each family of the 5 that went had their own space to unwind. The kitchen was beautiful and made meal prep and cooking so easy. The kida had lots to do with basketball, board games, mini pool tables, hot tub and the highlight was definitely the swimming. The water was great, warm and clear at any given time during the day and the kids had so much fun jumping off the docks, using the paddle boats and the canoes. We all had such a great time and are so thankful to Marla and Sherri-an employee who helped us when we checked in and checked out- Sherri was a great help, kind, friendly, hospitable and even recommended a different cottage with less steps for next year that I will definitely look into because it was a beautiful experience. Don't think twice about booking your stay here my family and I loved it!

We took a few days to experience winter wonderful and we got this at this lovely cottage. Coming from the GTA area, looking for a peaceful cottage, this was a welcoming space. We thank Chris for allowing us to decompress and just enjoy a bit of winter before spring comes!

Absolutely amazing, we had great plans, but the ice storm and the cozy fireplace changed those plans. Hermann and Tracy were an absolute blast! Super chill, and super friendly, we would come back just to spend time with them! We had a cute visitor to come check up on us as well! We hope to be back, thank you hosting us Hermann and Tracy!

Aileen was very friendly and communicative, as well as extremely helpful! She was very accommodating and flexible during an ice storm by letting us stay a few hours after check out to wait for the storm to pass. The space was private and cozy. There were a lot of outdoor activities to do in the property as well. We had a great weekend and would definitely book again in the future!

We recently stayed here for our March break and it was an amazing week. Beautiful lake, lots of walking trails and super private and away from the busy city. Accommodations were excellent. Lots of room for a big family or several couples. I would highly recommend this place, anytime of year. Thank you again Julie and Jean

I can’t say enough positive things about our stay here. It was truly an escape that we got to experience. Great hosts, great place, great atmosphere! The only knock I think I have is that the photos do not do justice!! This place was homey and beautiful, not to say the photos aren’t that but they don’t do it justice! We will surely be back if we’re in Bancroft again!!

Beautiful spot for a quiet family getaway with our geriatric mastiff. They had everything we needed for wet March weather with a 145lb dog. We look forward to going back in the summer as it looks perfect for lakeside fun as well!

Perfect little cabin for a quiet vacation. This was our second stay here, and we love how peaceful the space is. It's very cosy, with all the amenities you need for a get away.

Our stay at the cabin on Golden Lake was absolutely perfect! As always, we were warmly greeted by Cindy, whose friendly smile and attentive care make every visit feel extra special. The cabin was already warm upon arrival, and its cozy ambiance welcomed us for a relaxing weekend getaway. We were delighted to find delicious Lindor chocolates waiting for us—a sweet and thoughtful touch! The log cabin itself is absolutely charming, with its 3 beautifully appointed bedrooms. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the cabin was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need. The terrace offers stunning views of Golden Lake, where you can enjoy ice fishing or skating right outside your door. Plus, we discovered an incredible skating trail in the nearby woods—an absolute must-try for outdoor enthusiasts. We can’t wait to come back again. Our family had a wonderful stay. The stunning views are even better than the pictures. The kids loved both the outdoor and indoor activities, with canoeing and local attractions being the highlights for us. Hosts Cindy and Mike were extremely helpful, offering excellent recommendations and exceeding our expectations. The place had a welcoming vibe. Highly recommended—a hidden gem.

The retreat is a lovely tranquil spot in the Ottawa Valley. It is spacious and comfortable, with lots of big windows looking out on the surrounding countryside. The only close neighbours are the deer and the wild turkeys. Carol is a friendly and charming host and she responds right away to any requests. Highly recommended! I plan to return, any time that urban life gets to be too much!

This was the perfect addition to my wedding weekend! Julie made it extra special with a welcome sign and bottle of champagne to great my guests and I! The place is absolutely stunning, so warm, cozy and just what we needed for a wedding stay with the bridal party. It surpassed my expectations and Julie and her partner were wonderful - we even had a tour and learned some history on the place. Can’t wait to come back !
