Lacie’s place was a great location for our 3 days in Capitol Reef. There were some cleanliness issues, but since all the other reviews mentioned how clean it was, I’m chalking it up to an off week after chatting with her. It was a comfortable space for the 3 of us to spread out with a beautiful backdrop. Would definitely recommend using it as a home base for the park exploration.

We loved this place! It's so gorgeous, inside and out. The layout is lovely, and the kitchen and table are wonderful to cook and hang out in. The deck outside was a huge hit, and we loved the bird watching, including watching a tom turkey and his 7 little ones. The view was definitely one of the best parts--we spent every morning watching the show but truly, the whole place is beautiful. We also loved all of the maps, brochures, books, topo maps, and other resources to find the many (many!) day hikes that surround the area. That's what we came to do, and the location worked perfectly for that. It was cold on the first night, and the heat pump was quite loud in the one bedroom . For us, this was solved for the rest of the nights by turning the thermostat down so that it didn't come on. The house is well insulated, and kept the day's heat in well, so that house stayed plenty warm. For chilly nights and warm days in early April, that worked well. Liz was a wonderful host!

Nice place. Really close to all the great outdoor adventures and easy walk to the stores and restaurants in Escalante.

First off…wow…what a spot. It’s rare to find such place close to town and yet so secluded. Perched on a rise below the cockscomb on a HUGE property with 360 degree views ranging from snow capped mountains to the expanse of the Colorado plateau. There with literally the feeling of no one else in the space before we even entered what can be described as nothing short of a villa. The weather was perfect and so clear we could see the freshly snow capped rim of the San Juan mountains of Colorado distant on the horizon and oft mistaken for faraway clouds. The grassy lawn facing East brought a feel of oasis in the wilderness. The single floor plan layout is delightful with windows and light abounding. The master suite faces the sun and moon rise with a full view and excellent darkening shades. The most understated feature is the walk in shower with four narrow vertical windows in an arc to the south. The kitchen is well equipped and the west side of this villa is sun soaked and spacious.

Great place and great view.

We had a great time! Perfect location for Kodachrome state park and for Bryce Canyon. We enjoyed the quietness sans had everything we needed for our stay. Melanie was quick to answer our questions and very gracious about making right any concerns we had.

We had a great stay here during our visit to Escalante. Beautiful scenery, lots to do in the area, and one of the nicest homes we saw in town. Close to the Escalante outfitters where we did most of our shopping and eating in town. Great stay, would choose this house again if we visit in the future.
