Lovely warm cottage, beautiful views, and very clean and well equipped. We walked from the door, or caught a bus most days and walked back. We really appreciated membership of the Langdale estate, which meant we could swim if the weather was poor. We also ate out at the Langdale restaurant and Wainrights pub. Fabulous location and a lovely cottage. Helpful and responsive hosts.

What a fantastic place. We really didn’t want to leave this morning. We had such a fantastic time that we have recommended this place to both friends and family. We will most definitely be returning. Thank you again

Third time we’ve stayed at High Biggin with wider family. This time a commitment ceremony. Paul went well beyond the call of duty meeting us months beforehand so we could visit to work out exactly how and in what spaces to make it happen. Everything went perfectly. As we’d planned HB was a great place for us all to relax and enjoy ourselves. The mid-March weather was unexpectedly glorious. Even got to try out the new hot tub! Hope to be back next year.

Beautiful cottage that was everything and more than what I thought it would be. So homely and welcoming with beautiful scenery and stunning beaches to go with it. Mark and Ruth are amazing hosts who are so friendly and will help you with whatever you need. I proposed to my partner here and they gave us a celebratory hamper the night of which was so surprising and thoughtful! We will definitely come here again and would recommend anyone wanting to visit the Lake District to stay here. A truly breathtaking place.

We arrived on the Friday for a 3 night stay. The Barn is in a beautiful place inside and out. The Hot Tub was lovely on an evening and the patio fire was great to sit around for drinks early evening watching the Sun go down. Casterton village is only a couple of miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. The village its self had a gorgeous pub 7 mins walk from the Barn which had a great range of food and served Sourdough pizza on Sunday evening after 1700hrs with a lovely warm atmosphere and open fires. There is a great taxi service and some fabulous restaurants near to the Barn. The Black Bull and the Highwayman were fabulous. (We did go to Number 9 also and it was not somewhere I could recommend, service and food really poor.) Patrick and Anika were great responsive hosts and this is a do not miss property, that offers every you need for a fabulous stay. Our little group loved it. Thank you Karen, Denise and Naomi

Jerry was a very responsive host lots of information. You also get a app to use which is very helpful with clear instructions on how to access the property useful information with apps and gadgets and also local restaurants and shops the cottage itself was beautiful amazing views hot tub was fantastic beautiful surroundings very private would very highly recommend and will most definitely be staying again and a big thank you to Jeff for being an amazing host. I’m very helpful.

Amazing stay with me and my friends for a birthday week. Perfect location and perfect base for all our hikes during the week. Definitely recommend

Fantastic find. We booked this for a Christmas/ new year break and found home from home with Emma decorating cottage to make us feel it was just that. Extremely private in ever changing landscapes with weather conditions but that said had good weather for season. Got out and about on recommendations. Farmers arms a good local and friendly . Ulverston offers great alternatives in wet weather, canal walk, museum and crystal showroom. We ventured out to Buttermere, Wray castle and other surrounding areas. Beautiful cottage, excellent location and great host. We had a lovely cosy Xmas stay with roaring log fire, Xmas decor and bottle of bubbly. Alison was very responsive and helpful throughout. The cottage is perfect for a stay at Windermere and within walking distance from the lake, the shops, restaurants and train station. Completely accurate description.

Extremely comfortable cottage in a lovely, pretty location. Very well equipped kitchen, great shower and very comfortable bed. Very clean and own parking spot was a bonus. Great comms from Brittany and excellent local recommendations. Looking forward to returning soon. Highly recommend.

Lovely little cottage that had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. Comfy bed, great shower with super nice shower gel, and lots of useful bits and bobs in the kitchen. Lovely surprise to have a bottle of Prosecco and cookies left for us too - thank you! Perfect location for walking into the village, eating at Rogan & Co and exploring the Southern Lakes. We went to Netherwood Spa for a 90 min Thermal Journey which is a 10 min drive, highly recommend after a day of walking! Would definitely come back and stay here again.

Second stay at Dragley Beck for me, and it's the first place I check now when looking for somewhere to stay when working in Barrow. Great house in a great location, and a great host!

We had a brilliant stay, Steve showed us round which was great. Lovely and warm kept out of the storm outside. Well furnished and the pub in the village is well worth a visit

Lovely home, right in the centre of Windermere. Very comfy beds, nice bathroom with bath and shower and spacious kitchen. We were lucky to get a parking space on the road opposite the cottage, which was great as didn’t want to attempt the parking at the back as it is pretty tight. Great communication before and during our stay. We will definitely stay again and will recommend. Thanks

What an amazing place to stay. Beautifully presented cottage in amazing surroundings - so peaceful and relaxing. Also great access to wonderful hikes in the Lake District. Sean was a great host with fantastic communication. Could not recommend enough!! Would love to go back :-)

Absolutely loved our anniversary stay at Crumble Cottage. Was everything we needed for relaxation and more On check in, Stewart was on hand and gave us an overview of the place, surroundings and suggested great places to visit and eat. The cottage itself is approx 15min walk into the centre of Cartmel - with great places to eat and drink there We visited the Wolf Predator experience by Grange-over-Sands - it was amazing!! Really enjoyed the comfort of the cottage and the tranquility- Will definitely be back again! Thanks for having us (Heidi & Craig) ☺️

Catherine is an excellent host, great communication and keen that everything is ok, quick response to queries raised. lovely welcome touch, of milk, cereal, bread, pastries, fruit juice jam, butter and apples and a supply of tea and coffee. Lovely compact cottage with a good kitchen, with a dishwasher and microwave. peaceful and quiet, away from everything but only a short drive in to Kendal

A wonderful place to stay in the heart of beautiful scenery. Very well equipped and tastefully modernised. Walking distance to the pub was handy. It was lovely to sit out in the garden. Thank you for letting us stay.

Absolutely stunning property! The pictures don’t do it justice. Host is very attentive & caters to your needs. Cottage is very pretty & has everything you need for a stay. Few doors down from a pub with great menu & plenty of space. Few minutes if that from several beaches.

This property is part of the lakeland village complex and is a lovely location at the southern tip of Windermere. The staff were all super helpful and very friendly with any questions we had. We would be very happy to stay here again. The property was lovely and clean with a rustic countryside feel to the decor. Although cold in the winter the heating and fireplace make it a very toasty comfortable stay.

Three families had a wonderful weekend. Kids had the best hide and seek sessions in the big rambling house, lots of space for resting chatting cooking and playing, hot tub and excellent bonus. Kitchen was the best stocked we've ever seen. Thank you!
