Our stay at Lugar das Letras was nothing short of magical. This beautifully restored house, once an old school, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards—a true feast for the eyes. The rooms and bedrooms were incredibly comfortable, thoughtfully designed to make us feel at home. But what made our experience truly unforgettable were Carla and Paula, the two wonderful ladies who took care of every detail. Every morning, they prepared a memorable breakfast for our entire family, filled with warmth and care. Their kindness and hospitality turned our stay into a dream. We can’t wait to return to this little slice of paradise in the Douro Valley. Highly recommended!

We were only able to stay one night in Fernando/Cecilia's home; however, it was wonderful (even in the rain). The historic building is beautiful and incredibly unique. The views over the countryside and vineyards are amazing. Cecilia met us on our arrival and explained everything to us (while also providing information about the area). They were very flexible with check in and check out. My wife and I only wish we would have had more time to spend at Fernando's house in order to explore the surrounding area. If you are considering a visit to the Douro Valley, you can't go wrong staying in this home.

Laurence and Jorge’s home provided a peaceful and beautiful escape in the Douro valley! The surrounding village is small and quaint with lovely views around every corner. The roads are winding, skinny and steep - no different from any other small town or city in Portugal. The home was impeccably clean, the Murphy bed surprisingly comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. A fantastic spot!

We celebrated New Year’s Eve at Jose’s house. Our stay was wonderful! We asked Jose to have a tree and some decorations, and the house was decorated with the beautiful Christmas tree, candles and fresh green tree branches. There were a lot of kitchen supplies. Everything to cook and eat in a big company. Although it was cold in the kitchen, we used the fireplace. All the rooms are equipped with air conditioning. We also enjoyed eating tasty oranges and mandarins. In addition, Jose and Sergio greeted us with the table full of snacks and 2 bottles of their own wine. Great time in the peaceful location! We would like to come back in summer.

Der Aufenthalt bei Bruno hat uns super gefallen. Es war eine sehr tolle Unterkunft mit wunderschönem Ausblick, sehr ruhig. Man kann wunderbare Spaziergänge unternehmen. Brunos Eltern und Cristin sind wundervolle Menschen. Wir durften den Wein probieren und wurden mit Kastanien und Früchten aus dem Garten überrascht. Cristin brachte uns Suppe vorbei. Gemeinsam feierten wir Sankt Martin. Es ist ein zauberhafter Ort den wir gerne weiterempfehlen. Vielen Dank !

We could not have been happier during our time staying at Maria's place. The entire property was gorgeous, with sweeping views of the Douro valley from almost every corner of the property. Although there is little in walking distance (one winery/Port house was walkable) the town is not far away and we really didn't want to leave the property anyway. There was a cozy fireplace at night in the living room, and a patio where we spent the evenings watching sunset and having dinner. The beds and couches were comfy as well. If we could've stayed forever, we would have.

Such a cool and unique house! Also great recommendations for restaurants and wine tasting. We very much enjoyed our stay.

La propriété était magnifique. Nous sommes arrivés en avance et ils se sont empressés de tout nettoyer. On nous a offert la propriété avec le jacuzzi, et il y avait toutes les commodites nécessaires pour notre bébé : chaise haute, jouets, lit… le jacuzzi devant les grandes fenêtres était une expérience inoubliable. Endroit central pour explorer le douro. On a répondu à tous nos besoins, on nous a offert du porto et des fruits locaux. C’est évident que ces gens ont à cœur le bien être de leurs invités, on recommande sans hésitation.

Excelente experiência! O alojamento fica numa localização perfeita, de modo que para conhecer a cidade não precisamos do carro. Fica mesmo ao lado do Castelo, de museus e restaurantes. A Carla é incrível! Simpática, pró ativa, conhece muito bem a região e é super acessível. Quando voltarmos a Bragança certamente ficaremos lá novamente. Super recomendo.

Momentos muito especiais foram vividos aqui, o Sr.Pedro foi sempre muito prestável e atencioso, garantindo o nosso bem estar. Permitiu que estivéssemos com as ovelhas e galinhas, o que a minha filha mais adorou! O ambiente é calmo, tranquilo e super agradável

Het huis was precies wat we verwacht hadden, erg leuk in een klein dorpje in de Douro vallei. Het dakterras maakt het helemaal af. Schitterend uitzicht en heerlijk rustgevend.

Delightful! So wonderful on cold November evenings to arrive and return to a warm home. They had pre-heated the home to create a perfect welcome! I want that shower! The shower is so spacious, easy entry, the drain works perfectly, the water all stays in the shower. Gorgeous view from my bedroom and the balcony. So many restaurants in town. Perfect for easy and scenic round trip drive along the Douro.

Fantastic stay, what a lovely family. There were lots of little touches, toys for children etc and a big outdoor space. The pool was not working but the family took us to a local outdoor pool 4km away which is just what we needed in the heat! We would happily return.

Nossa estada foi realmente incrível. O espaço é lindo desde os arredores até a casa. A casa é lindíssima, muito bem equipada! Tudo que se pode esperar de uma casa, é possível encontrar no espaço! Os anfitriões foram muito atenciosos, respondendo a todas as nossas questões de maneira rápida, educada e eficaz! Mesmo no inverno, a casa está muito bem equipada e em todos os andares e ambientes, a temperatura ficou muito confortável! Realmente, um lugar dos sonhos. Recomendo vivamente!

The place was well designed and extremely clean. Everything was comfortable and Pedro communicated well and was very friendly. Diogo met us at the house and was friendly and helpful. We would stay again, next time we will spend more time there.

Anibal estuvo muy atento a que llegásemos bien y que la casa estuviese lista en menos de una hora de antelación. La casa esta super equipada con zonas comunes amplias y un Jardin espectacular. Situada en una zona tranquila, en medio del triangulo do Entroido Ourensan.

La casa estaba en una zona tranquila, facilidad para aparcar el coche. El anfitrión nos dejó entrar antes de lo esperado y se amoldó a nuestros horarios. Muy amable en todo momento

Loic's place was an amazing find. we loved the house, the scenery, the quiet, the cleanliness. couldn't recommend more!!!

Vitor’s place was really comfortable, at the beginning it was a bit cold but later it got warm and everything was fine.

Très bon endroit calme bien situé pour découvrir la Vallée du Douro. De jolies balades, la maison à tout ce qu'il faut. Un bon restaurant à Sabrosa merci.
