A fabulous stay of five days - made even better by a spell of great weather and wall to wall sunshine. Beautiful and varied beaches all nearby, from Waipu through to Te Arai. Accommodation layout perfect for family, children and grandparents allowing a bit of separation. Peaceful & private location. Well equipped. Lovely high ceiling living space with excellent indoor/outdoor area. Minor access issue caused by 3 year old swiftly fixed by Sarah with the minimum of fuss, for which we were very grateful.

Beautiful family home, we had an amazing time SUPing, bathing in the hottub, and watching movies on the projector.

My family and I would absolutely be back to Waiwera, the house was really well set up as a beach house for a family with young kids, really close to the beach, and eating out on the patio was a highlight.

This house is beautifully situated right on the water - at high tide the water reaches the wall. The house is beautifully decorated and feels very homey. With a log fire, a separate granny flat and 3 other good sized bedrooms, we loved our stay here. Would definitely recommend.

We had an amazing time during our stay! The surroundings were absolutely stunning, making it the perfect escape. It’s truly a fantastic spot for larger groups looking to create unforgettable memories together.

This is the most outstanding home we’ve ever stayed in and we’ve stayed in a lot of amazing homes. The well thought out design, perfectly equipped house (kitchen to joyfully cook meals, luxurious linens, extras for beach visits, really absolutely everything you’d want), and a gorgeous interior. The house is situated perfectly with privacy from the unit next door. The whole backside of the home is glass with giant sliders to open, catch the breeze and watch the ocean. The moonrise over the ocean and the sunrise over the ocean from bed is the cherry on top. This peaceful quiet space is number one on our list! Reserve it!

We absolutely loved our stay. The location was perfect for us - just a short drive to Mangawhai Heads, and peaceful away from the hustle on a busy long weekend. A short walk to shops (and coffee!), and an EV charging point is very close. The house itself is beautiful - very comfortable and welcoming; we wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely be back!

We had a great stay, the house was very nice with great views. It had everything we needed and was a very relaxing stay. The only thing worth noting is the driveway is very very steep & we had to walk down to meet the taxi van but our cars were able to make it up the driveway.

This house is absolutely stunning. It sits on a private beach with magnificent sea views and a big deck looking out over the ocean. It’s surrounded by native bush, loads of birds and a feeling of privacy & serenity. The ocean-facing doors and windows all open up so it has a wonderful indoor/outdoor flow. There’s a lovely hot tub with a sea view too! Downstairs, there are the living spaces and upstairs, the bedrooms. The bedrooms are lovely - three large rooms with double (maybe queen or king??) beds, as well as two ‘kids rooms’ with twin beds and/or bunks. Two of the larger double rooms have private balconies & ensuites. It’s a beautiful & delightful house. Very well appointed. Perfect for a larger group, close to Matakana, Omaha and all of the lovely things to do there. We’ll be back! Five adults and six children had a wonderful weekend in Mangawhai, using Carolynn's house as our base. There was plenty of space for everyone to find their own corner, both inside and out. The kitchen was big enough for several cooks to work in at once and the dining table was big enough for us to all sit around so mealtimes were a treat, not a chore. Amazing view to the east, including sunrise across water and moonscape sand dunes. The spa at the end of the day was a special treat for our family, as was the large TV screen in the lounge. We missed a few books and board games but everything else was in good supply. Thank you for a special long weekend with my family Carolynn.

I cannot say enough about how beautiful Gill's home is. The surroundings are so beautiful, short drive into town where you can find everything your looking for. Gill is such a wonderful and kind host, if you have a chance to visit her home, you will not be disappointed. Thank you for making my son's wedding so special, so lucky to have met such a amazing woman.

The place is amazing, very large living area with many very clean and decently spaced rooms. I wasn’t aware of the 5-10 minute gravel road the house is on. Daniel was amazing at communicating when I need to get in touch with him however the packing up procedure could have been outlined better, but other than that the four informative emails sent outlined everything needed for our stay. The view is just as amazing in person as the photos both sunrise and sunset, especially lounging in the spa.

We had the most relaxing stay in this beautiful cabin. Rebekah was a friendly and responsive host. The cabin had everything we needed and is so thoughtfully designed. Our highlights were having a bath under the stars and feeding the chickens! Definitely would recommend this stay if you're looking to disconnect and relax.

Linda was friendly, helpful & a great host, allowing us to arrive early on short notice & kindly offering a few extra hours on our last day. We enjoyed the stay very much w the serene private backyard & outdoor bath. Great access to the township & local pub just a stroll out the backgate! Highly recommend!

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful cabin. It was well equipped, had beautiful views, and felt really private. The property is fully fenced which was great for our dog. Tonia is a great host and was responsive to any messages during our stay.

Absolutely stunning! Would love to stay again. Leah and Jan were very prompt at replying and very flexible with our arrival as we chopped and changed our plans last minute. Google maps takes you right to the driveway and we had no problems driving up the gravel hill in a Hyundai i30. This place is GORGEOUS. The view from the cottage and the BBQ area is amazing. We had a full moon and sat out on the deck watching the moon, and listening to lots of kiwi’s nearby! During the day we sat and read our books in the sun. We also loved the bath and the pizza oven. They’ve thought of everything and pay a lot of attention to detail. I was impressed that not even the outdoor areas had any spider webs - so clean and tidy! The bed was very comfy and we had a wonderful sleep each night. Serene!

Incredible! We absolutely loved our stay at the lodge. The views were beautiful, and it was so peaceful. We were fortunate to have clear skies on our first night, and had an amazing view of the stars. A little bit difficult to get around i.e to the beach and lighthouse etc however we made the most of relaxing, and would definitely return.

We absolutely loved our stay at Kapia Lodge. This truly is heaven on Earth! so peaceful and private. We were lucky to have clear skies, so many stars & a beautiful view of the milky way. Kapia Lodge was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The BBQ was great for cooking our meals. Luxurious with everything you need. Would definately recommend!

My husband and I loved staying with Carol for our weekend away. The location is absolutely beautiful, and the space very comfortable and relaxing. Had everything we needed. Carol was an excellent, communicative and friendly host. Very cool lady! Thank you Carol!
