Clean and charming home, perfect for our weekend trip!

Hands down the BEST place to stay while exploring Big Bend! Being in the ghost town with the beautiful views, quiet atmosphere, private home with every amenity plus some provided a unique and wonderful experience for our family. This adorable casa was pristine clean, organized and comfortable for the duration of our stay. Proximity to the National and State parks was perfect for our day trips. Walking a path to the Starlight Theater was fun too! Local eats are within minutes, but we enjoyed cooking at the casa too! Such a beautiful slice of heaven that allowed us to enjoy and relax while on our Texan adventure. LaNetta and Jared are exceptional hosts!

Excellent base camp between Midland and Big Bend. We fell in love with Reata Restaurant and we went for dinner all 3 nights of our stay. Highly recommend visiting Big Bend National Park as well as the scenic drive up north 118 through the Davis mountains. We had an amazing trip and a great stay in Alpine

If you want a place to shoot for the stars, this is it. It's a great place that overlooks the town and the valley. We were welcomed with great weather and a sky full of stars. This place is an extremely great find. It's different from all the skywatching locations in Terlingua. You also have a well-stocked home.

Jim’s place is on the edge of town so the view from the back porch and the sitting area is fantastic the big quiet of West Texas. We appreciated that you had to set up for smokers outside. The place is quiet, which is very important for us and the accoutrements indoors are modern and appealing. We love the shower and the water and the bedroom was sweet. The next time we go through marathon we may stay there again. We were on a camping trip near Terlingua so it was nice to have all the comforts of homebefore living in the desert. Thank you!

Beautiful place, eclectic and artsy. Loved the outdoor spaces! Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. Dark skies are amazing! Drive in would be rough with a sedan, highly recommend a small SUV. Also good to know that the bedrooms and one bathroom are separated, you need to go outside and down 3 steps to get to the bathroom.

Our 3rd time staying at Kushala and have never been disappointed. Perfect space to enjoy Big Bend and its surroundings.

Great house, fun and tastefully appointed, easy location into Alpine (2 min drive), super comfortable and great space inside and out.

Great accommodations in a great location. Close to Big Bend National Park and Big Bend State Park. Host was responsive and provided help tips for seeing the stars at night. Highly recommend!

Donnie and Lynda are excellent hosts. I’ve stayed at one of their roadhouse rentals before, and had an amazing experience too! They make the check in process very easy with a code you type in at the door. If you have any questions they are always prompt to respond. My cousin and I had such a fantastic experience that we decided to extend our stay another day. Donnie and Lynda accommodated and even brought a rollaway bed so we could each sleep comfortably. Whenever I come back to Big Bend and Terlingua, I will always stay at their roadhouse rentals! Thank you guys so much for exceeding our expectations!

The location and the host was perfect for us. With the location right in the middle of both parks of Big Bend. The best part was the ability to just get away from all the hustle and bustle of every day life.

The location was ideal for exploring Big Bend and nearby Terlingua Ghost Town, which had a couple great bars and restaurants. The place was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed to cook. Loved having the outdoor space to watch the sky!

Stayed here after spending four nights in Big Bend and it was very nice. If you’re looking for a place to treat yourself after sleeping on the ground for a while, this is a great spot! I was also able to charge my EV overnight, which is extremely convenient for this part of the State

Great place to stay in Big Bend. The cabin is beautiful, extremely comfortable and has a great outdoor space to relax after a long day at Big Bend. If you have kids, it’s also a great place for them to relax/play/explore when they’re back. Our son made friends with kids from the other cabins and had a great time while we enjoyed the sunsets.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. This was our first time visiting the area and didn’t know what to expect, this location offered all the amenities we needed to be comfortable after long hiking days. George was there to greet and help us start up the generator to start up the AC promptly, and was very friendly and helpful with further instructions about our stay. We also really enjoyed the visits from the pups. We would gladly stay here again on our next visit to big bend!

Everything is accurate to the description, so read it carefully to be sure you're getting what you want. These cabins are comfortable and the views are beautiful, but it's not like staying at a hotel. There is no AC and the cabin does get warm during the day, but at least while we were there (April) the nights cooled off sufficiently that we slept comfortably. Cooking on the camp stove was a challenge our first night due to high wind, but we managed. The three cabins all face different directions, and I think Ipo might be the best one. The sun morning sun will blast you awake, but the advantage is that the porch is in full shade starting in the afternoon, which makes it very pleasant. The view is amazing, highly recommend.

This was our third stay at one of Betty's homes in Terlingua! She's a fantastic host and the space is perfect. Beautiful views of the mountains and stars, a quick walk to restaurants, and has everything we need to cook and relax. Definitely recommend staying here!

We loved staying at Camp Elena. Many places in Terlingua were right off the road, and this place is tucked away on an accessible dirt road. Perfect to create the quiet atmosphere for our getaway! The tent was exactly as pictured, clean, and very comfortable. We loved watching the sun rise and set from our balcony. We also loved being able to have fires at night! Our first couple nights, we had some pretty noisy neighbors who we could hear entire conversations from late at night (well past quiet hours). We notified the host, and they addressed it right away. Otherwise, we felt that other guests were respectful of the quiet/calm atmosphere. The host was responsive, and kind. Very easy to get in contact with! We appreciated the guidebook in the tent with how to operate everything and with local recommendations. We would certainly stay here again, and recommend it to others (though…I’d love for us to keep it a secret, so we could have it for ourselves. 😉).

Great little cabin to stay in. Enjoy staying there when I’m in town.

The location is stunning and the A Frame is beautiful! We were there during an unprecedented weather occurrence (massive rains - first in several years) and Esteban was amazing at helping us navigate the situation. They were very kind and responsive. I’d recommend at least an AWD vehicle for the region (if you’re getting a rental car), including for Big Bend, but we survived in our little sedan.

The location was outstanding! You’re just a few minutes from the west entrance station and about 30 minutes from Panther Junction Visitor Center. The room has everything you need when visiting Big Bend and we really appreciate the full size fridge and freezer. Highly recommended for any couple going to the park.

Highly recommend this cabin! The place is cozy, views are amazing, and proximity to Big Bend is great.
