The perfect relaxing getaway if you like things a bit on the rustic side. Being able to swim, fish, paddle around, soak in the hot tub, or just relax and enjoy the view right outside the door was ideal. Plus there was enough space and stuff for kids to keep them occupied and happy all day long. Location was far enough from the city to be completely peaceful, but close enough to easily get supplies or just visit for a few hours. Beds were comfortable and the wood fire stove was there if we needed it to take the edge off cool mornings or evenings, making a cozy space to read and relax. Keep in mind that there is no hot water or potable water on site, but if you're used to simple cabins or camping, this is nothing to worry about. Leslie was great about staying in contact and clearly loves this place herself, which makes it a much better place to be than some of the more generic rental-only options out there. We are already planning our return for next year.

Arne and Mary are not just friendly hosts, they're awesome hosts! They go beyond providing shelter. Arne and Mary genuinely take interest in showing their guests what the area has to offer. Arne really put effort into showing us a local attraction and taking us to a friend of his that explained and showed the ins and outs of maple syrup making.

We had a fantastic stay! The place was just as described—beautiful, cozy, and well thought out. The kitchen was incredibly functional and well-stocked, with labeled cupboards that made everything easy to find. The wood-burning fireplace in the living area added a warm touch. There was plenty of sleeping space for everyone, and the highlight of our stay was definitely the hot tub and the basement amenities, which provided the perfect spot to relax and unwind.

This is my second stay at Don's family camp, and I'll continue to book here when it's available. Don is one of the most responsive hosts I've know, and I've stayed in over 30 Airbnb's. If you're looking for something remote, but still have basic amenities plus a couple extra perks like a sauna and outdoor fire pit ... this is the place. If phone and internet service are critical, you might want to look south of the Mackinac Bridge. For my needs, I hope Don and his family continue to share their camp.

Charming and Cozy in an amazing location! I plan to return in the summer and enjoy the beach, fire pit, rockhounding, watching the freighters and exploring. The location is a great launching point for many day trips within an hour or two of the cabin. And the beach access really is steps away from the door! We played outside all day and then played Catan and Uno at night. The kitchenette had everything we needed to prepare meals. There is an entertainment center set up with Roku and a dvd player with movies and some games. The beds were both very comfortable with quality linens and blankets and great pillows. The porch is darling, birdfeeders all around and lanterns and lights for night. Kelly was the perfect host, very quick to respond, knowledgeable of the area, and a pleasure to communicate with! I highly recommend this cabin for one or two people. Perfect for a cozy getaway, beach fun and day trips. You won’t be disappointed!!!

This was by far the best stocked Airbnb that we've ever stayed at! They thought of everything - beach towels, extra fans in every room, a charcoal grill, smores skewers, and even a waffle maker! The house was clean and had some character - we loved the look of the built in high tabletop and plenty of river themed decor. For those who are picky about your drinking water, it seemed to be well water, so we ended up buying a lot of water jugs. Great location for a 'get away from it all cabin'. It was close enough to Sault Ste Marie and Mackinac Island to make day trips to those spots, yet far enough away from the city life that ship watching was the exciting part of the day and star gazing quality was fantastic - we even saw several meteors (granted we stayed during Perseids Meteor showers peak). Our hosts made some fantastic restaurant recommendations for us while we stayed. We wished we could've done more of the activities they suggested, but some were too far for our kiddos.

Well equipped! Great place to stay. We will be back.

Elizabeth's place was perfect for our snowmobile group! Trails were right there and easy to get to. The view at the house was perfect, it was private and just beautiful all around. Check in and out was so easy and communication was great! Thank you for sharing your place with us, we had a blast!

Had a wonderful stay. Susan was very helpful with local recommendations and very quick to respond to any questions we had. Great location for snowmobiling. Very central location to head in all directions. We rode right from there and put on about 500 miles in 3 days. Very clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was provided.

It was our second time here and it was just as nice as the first time. we had a wonderful long weekend on the water and relaxing by the fire!

To say we enjoyed our stay would be an understatement! The view from the living room/main bedroom is breathtaking. The silence is filled with songs of birds, leafs, wind and overwhelming beauty. We spent days in/on the water, evenings watching VHS movies and nights amazed by the bright stars

Absolutely spectacular location for watching freighters. Downbound ships pass this location so close you can hear the deck hands talking. Was able to see 2 ships even though we were only there for ~12 hours. Cabin was exactly what we were expecting, bare bones but that’s all we wanted. Will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful 3 days at this cabin!!! The surroundings are stunning and the view of the lake from the cabin’s windows is just gorgeous. Very nicely decorated and comfortable… also the bed was super comfy! Cooked all of our meals on the grill which has a side burner, and the cozy kitchen is great! We LOVED the off the grid experience and this one is done right. An unforgettable experience, thank you James for everything!!

The cottage was just the quick, quiet and peaceful getaway I was looking for. The place was simple and comfortable for one person, with room for more, right on the water and offered an expansive lake with two additional connecting lakes you could kayak to. It was great to take a long swim and nestle back in the cottage with my coffee. My favorite part was waking up to views of the water with birds chirping and sipping coffee. It’s a great place for getting away to write, escape daily life and avoid holiday crowds. Lois was very responsive and we were able to meet and connect on our passion for Hawaii. She provided some nice perks like local coffee and bottled water stocked in the fridge. I hope to be a return visitor to this little gem. Thanks for everything, Lois!

For a couple of days on the island, it was a great place to stay!

Nice cute small cabin. Perfect for a weekend getaway. Has all the necessities and quick drive to any attractions in the area. Definitely would stay here again.
