If only the fishing had been a little better we could have spent more time at the cabin. Overall it was an awesome place to spend time, cook, talk and hangout with my Dad, Brother and Son for a week. Hope to do it again next year!

Martine's place is in one of the best spots on Indian Point! It's a 30 second walk to the beach but protected from the sun and wind that can sometimes be intense on the waterfront--we watched every single beautiful sunset. The sunset trail starts very close to the cabin and we walked it most days. The fridge and freezer are a good size for our family of 6 to be well-stocked for the week. She's got 4 working island bikes and a great SUP that our family enjoyed using. We will return for sure!

Absolute gem of a place! From the clean, cozy house to the sprawling yard down to the beach. This is an exceptional place to have a family getaway. The hosts are so responsive and helpful as well. We’ll definitely be back (again!)

What a cute little place to stay! We were happy to have a cozy little space to hide away from the rain. From the cleanliness, the details, the communication from Tara, and the outdoor bathtub, everything was great!

this is, in my mind, the perfect Airbnb, particularly if you have kids. there are so many kids toys, dishes, the swing on the porch, even perfect vintage board games. I loved that the house was clearly used routinely by the hosts and had an amazingly stocked kitchen, and all the extra little things that airbnbs often miss. the air popper for popcorn was perfection. we loved the wood burning fireplace and sat in front of it every evening. the furniture is not super fancy, which I loved as a parent because I wasn't worried about the kids breaking anything precious. loved having laundry on site too. we would come back in a heartbeat.

She gave us instructions on how to run everything (this “off-grid” cabin and its amenities run on solar/battery/generator power and/or propane). She was communicative during the booking process and throughout our stay. Our family had a wonderful stay on this little island on Shawnigan Lake!

A Magic Escape too good to be real We had a chance to escape for a couple of days at Heather and Arthur's magical island escape. A brilliant, exceptionally elegant off-grid home home whose architecture, art and creature comforts combine in perfect harmony with British Columbia coastal environment. Arthur and Heather are gracious hosts who have have created a true paradise for themselves - we feel very fortunate that they were willing to share Casa Colina with us for a few short days.

Jeri and Alison were great hosts’. They always responded in a timely fashion and was able to help with trouble shooting getting around the island. They made our stay very comfortable with their hospitality and kindness.

Shoot. Only a thousand words allowed to describe Paradise Point? Let’s put it this way— our week on Powell Lake was so unforgettable we’ve already booked in for next year. The photos don’t do it justice— you really have to see/experience it to believe it. The cottage itself is sweet and rustic, with super comfy beds, and the location and views are indescribable. My husband and I went for a quiet retreat, just the two of us, but the cottage/property would no doubt be fantastic for a group. We swam every day, made pals with the ravens and chipmunks, lay out under the stars every night… bliss. And Dylan! Dylan was lovely to communicate with— prompt, clear, kind— and took care of all our needs. Highly, HIGHLY recommend!

We loved our stay at Elora! Stunning views, beautiful design, modern, clean, and so comfortable. What a great spot - away from the hustle bustle of Victoria, easy access to world-class beaches and hiking. We highly recommend this modern little seaside cottage. You’ll love watching eagles, seals, otters and so many other birds right from the balcony.

We stayed on Doe Island for roughly 5 weeks, and had a wonderful time watching seals, porpoises, herons, stunning sunsets and beautiful starry nights. The cabin is definitely rustic, working off of water cisterns, a composting toilet, and solar/generator powered, but we were comfortable managing these. Steve was incredibly helpful and made sure we were comfortable, bringing over more water when needed and troubleshooting when we accidentally blew a fuse. The high speed internet made it possible for my daughter to work from there with a beautiful "office" view, seeing our resident seal visit every day! The provided kayaks made it easy to toodle around the harbour, and the crab pots - thrown right off the dock - provided some great meals. Steve helped out with our arrival and departure. It is also obvious that the host is in progress of upgrading areas of the island, so some spots look more in-progress than polished. Overall, the spot is absolutely gorgeous, the host is super helpful and hospitable, but it is definitely not a hotel -- you'll need to be aware of water and power consumption, and it is fairly isolated. Having your own boat to get around is recommended if you're there for an extended stay. (You can try checking with area marinas or other nearby places to park your car.) We'll definitely be going back!

Steve went above and beyond for our stay - truly a top notch host. Responsive and friendly, he made check in seamless and was on hand if we needed anything. The cabin was lovely - beds comfy, kitchen had everything we needed, bathroom sparkling. We absolutely loved the salt water hot tub (and we mean hot!) and the cozy wood fireplace when the rain came one night. Watching the porpoises, seals, otters and eagles was super relaxing, as was meandering around the harbour in our kayaks. Will definitely come back! Thanks Steve!
