This cottage was perfect for us - 2 couples with small children. Louise gave us loads of information before we arrived, and her husband greeted us shortly after we arrived. It was such an easy stay with small children, we had everything we needed, and the stair gate made life so easy! There were lots of lovely touches like providing snacks, coffee and jams. And Louise even provided some glasses for the solar eclipse!! The surroundings are really peaceful and the kids loved the 2 Shetland ponies in the field opposite. There are lots of options for walks from the cottage, or a short drive away. The Black Lion pub did a great roast dinner. I found there was so much thought put into the stay and Louise was very accommodating. Would definitely recommend!

We had a fabulous 2 nights stay in Milsom cottage . The view was amazing and the cottage so cosy and warm from the AGA . The peace and quiet was glorious! The cottage’s fixtures and fittings and amenities were of great quality and it felt like a real treat to be staying there . We would definitely return, there is still so much to see and do in the area . Thank you Victoria for a lovely stay

Melanie's property is beautiful. It's lovely and big yet feels cosy and homely. I wish we were able to stay for longer. It would be a lovely base for a family holiday.

A fantastic find! A beautiful apartment and very clean. The little treats waiting for us was a thoughtful touch and the key safe to check in meant we could arrive anytime. There was board games & a tv with a fire stick. The apartment was warm, welcoming and we look forward to staying again!

Wowsers. Just wowsers. What a gorgeous place with everything you could possibly need inside. I’m a person that brings everything but the kitchen sink when I go away, but I needn’t have because everything we could have ever needed was already there. Above and beyond what one expects at holiday accommodations. Spacious, spotless, secluded and simply wonderful.

Location is absolutely fantastic for Bakewell access. Communication was excellent. Perfect weekend.

Our stay at the Swiss Cottage was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking views surrounding the property, truly unmatched in their beauty. Glenys has thoughtfully provided everything one could possibly need for a comfortable and seamless stay, making it feel like a home away from home. I had the pleasure of staying here with my friends, and it proved to be the perfect retreat for our girls’ trip. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare our morning teas and coffees effortlessly, adding to the convenience and coziness of our experience. The location is also fantastic just a short walk down the hill, we found a wonderful selection of restaurants, pubs, and cafés, making it easy to explore and enjoy the local charm. Without a doubt, this has been one of our most memorable stays, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book the Swiss Cottage again on our next visit to Matlock. Highly recommended!

We stayed here for a few days to celebrate our wedding anniversary with our dog Boris. The cottage is beautiful & tastefully decorated with everything you could want or need. Although the cottage is in the centre of the town, it’s on a quiet footpath away from the hustle & bustle so really quiet especially in the small courtyard garden. The breakfast that comes as part of the package was first class & far outweighed our expectations, we will definitely stay here again when we visit this part of the country.
