Amazing house, great views, great communication with owner, and overall great experience! It does technically fit 10 people but that’s assuming that 8 people have to share a bed with someone else which was less than ideal for our group but could be totally someone else could be looking for. Definitely 5/5 stars and would not change a thing about our experience!

If I’d tried to imagine the perfect place in the woods to have some respite and relaxation this is even better! It’s just a short walk up to the cabin from the wildlife center and so serene and private—but the awesome and amazing Nancy is moments away if you need here, but never intrusive. I feel like she treats her guests with the same care and love and empathy she gives all the lucky animal friends in the rescue. My stay was healing and restorative, the setting is lovely, and there are beautiful places nearby to explore like the Dixon Waterfowl Refuge. It was like camping but comfy and Nancy has thought of every sweet detail. It was perfect.

Amber, Nana’s Cookie Cottage is the most magical little Airbnb home I’ve had the pleasure of staying at. All of your nana’s love still fills the home and you can feel it as soon as you step inside. I can’t imagine how awful it must be to be some of the select few people who come through as guests and complain about the extra touch of love throughout the home. Their loss, for sure. 10/10, I’d recommend this home to anyone who is looking to feel right at home; just like grandma’s house. Your family is amazing and I am truly grateful for the experience I had while being hosted by you. To anyone looking to stay here, look at the pictures 🥰 The home matches the photos provided. Beautiful home in a perfect location for our large gathering .This listing does require advanced coordination for any visitors who are not registered guests.

Spent a few days here with our pups and it was perfect. We drove from Chicago to Starved Rock to this cabin. It was perfect little spring break getaway. Our Aussie and Border Collie loves exploring the yard and all the beautiful trails. The home was perfect for us. There was no phone signal, so I was able to finally finish a book I’ve been dragging on finishing. There were some ladybugs around but they weren’t bothering us, they are a sign of good luck. We loved that we could explore the trails. It was lovely and I can’t wait to come back with my pups.

Loved this charming farm house! Felt right at home here <3 the house was nice and clean and there were homemade cookies waiting for us! Easy check in/out. Would love to stay here in the summer/fall to see the many surrounding trees in beautiful colors!

Our family rented this home because it was close to my parents' home that we visited for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Lake House was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The large kitchen served us well for our large family gathering. We really appreciated the pack n play, high chair, and toys for our toddler grandson! The adults enjoyed spending time in the game room with ping pong table, dartboard, and game table. So glad you provide a washer and dryer. The view of the lake and surrounding wooded neighborhood was spectacular. It was a cold week or we would have enjoyed spending more time on the deck and at the dock. We can hopefully rent it for future visits to central Illinois- maybe in the summer months! Thank you so much for adding to our holiday vacation.

It was easy to find the house and checkin. The house was even more beautiful than the photos, especially the front rooms with the picture windows. The woodwork is incredible. We really appreciated the immaculate fenced-in yard, since we were traveling with two dogs. There’s also a great donut shop about 3 minutes walking distance, and the Main Street is full of options for dining and shopping. The only thing to note is that the bathroom sink had a very low flow (although the water pressure in the shower was great). Would definitely stay here again!
