Búrfell : locations de vacances

A beautiful location that felt out of the way but was not far off the road. Great suggestions for local attractions and we changed our morning plans and drove the short drive to Gluggafoss waterfall which ended up being one of our favorite sights of the trip! Saw the northern lights beneath the cloudy skies which was a nice surprise given the weather as well.

Staying in this incredible place for my 30th birthday has been an unforgettable experience. We were lucky enough to witnesd the northern lights twl nights, pure magic ! This is truky the most beautiful place on Earth!

Alfa and Finnur were very friendly and helpful, the best hosts!!! The house is lovely and cozy. Perfect for our family! The hot tub was the perfect temperature and so relaxing. I sincerely hope this place is available for our next visit!!!

It was my 3rd visit in this cabin and I certainly hope it wasn't the last. As always everything was great - the cabin was spotless, the check-in couldn't be smoother, all the utilities were there and, most importanly, the hot tub was ready to use :) Speaking of the hot tub - it's covered from the wind by a wooden screen, but it's open from the North side, making it perfect for watching the aurora in winter. The location makes it a perfect base for exploring southern Iceland. Highly recommended!

Das Häuschen war super. Es ist super ruhig gelegen, man fühlt sich sehr abgelegen, obwohl ein paar Häuser drumherum sind und man in paar Fabriken drumherum hat (man sieht nur die Lichter, es ist nichts zu hören oder zu riechen). Wir konnten sogar in zwei Nächten Polarlichter sehen, das war unser absolutes Highlight. Der Ausblick auf den Fjord war auch jeden Tag wieder atemberaubend. Die Ausstattung war perfekt, es fehlte an nichts. Wir konnten sogar den Whirlpool benutzen. Wenn man sehr empfindlich bei Geräuschen ist, sollte man ggf. Oropax mitnehmen (der Wind kann sehr laut werden). Das Häuschen war der perfekte Ausgangspunkt für Roadtrips in den Süden, nach Reykjavik und in den Westen. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Johanna & her sisters were great hosts & the log cabin is really amazing! We received very detailed information how to find & check-in & also some helpful information regarding the area (supermarkets, rental cars etc.). So, we felt like home just when we arrived. The cabin is equipped with really everything you need, e.g. the fireplace & the clothes horse were very helpul when coming back from hiking on a stormy & rainy day. Worth mentioning is also the hot tub from which you can look towards the river. Overall, we can absolutely recommend the log cabin & we will definitely come back. Selfoss (grocery), the Golden Circle, Thingvellir & Reykjavik are within a max. 1.5 hour drive.

Daniel was really helpful. The cabin was beautiful and private. There were heaters around the house which was helpful especially when it got cold and the kitchen amenities were perfect. The hot tub was a standout especially with the outdoor sound system which was a great vibe.
