Had a great time staying here with family for the weekend. Very private, but only a short drive to a grocery store. Beautiful view out of the front. Hot tub and fire pit were much enjoyed. Responsive host, very helpful. Would stay here again!

The cabin was so lovely - even prettier than the pictures. The view from the back deck was beautiful! Beds were comfortable and cabin felt spacious. Rocky was so kind and responsive throughout!

Place was rally nice and literally directly next to the lift which was awesome. Also the hot tub was great, super spacious and perfect after a long day on slopes. Overall had a great stay and would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

We came down for 2 nights from Michigan and despite the fairly long drive for the short stay it was well worth it. Merry Jo is the most thoughtful and meticulous host that you could ask for, the cabin is pristine, and the views immaculate. We encountered some unexpected snow the first morning and while we’re used to that, we’re not so used to the pitch on the mile stretch that separates the main road from the cabin. Merry Jo came up and tested the route in the morning for us providing the confidence we needed to brave it ourselves which led to a fantastic trip to the towns of Davis and Thomas, places we had seen during a previous trip to the region but had yet to try. Blackwater Falls and many other outdoorsy destinations are a quick drive away and there is a distillery down in Harman that we’ll have to try out next time. 1 million out of 10.

Fantastic stay - the house was incredible, great location, and right by Timberline mountain. The amenities were great, and we enjoyed using the hot-tub which was clean and warm. There were many nice additional touches, such as the toiletries including toothbrushes, soaps, etc., and games. The cabin was spacious and had great heating. Darien, the host, was very flexible and responsive. Would recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing, peaceful getaway!

Alex and Dasha’s cabin was just perfect! It is a great place to stay while visiting Davis and Canaan Valley. The cabin is super clean, cozy, and comfortable. The kitchen has everything needed for cooking meals at home. And the whole place is beautifully decorated. We will be back!

Situated in a private peaceful location. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need to prepare a meal to include coffee/tea, coffee filters, storage bags, foil, oil and S&P and other spices. Large BR downstairs with a comfortable King size bed and large screen TV. One king size bed and two twin beds located in loft area with dark steep narrow stairs leading up to them. Floor is very old and squeaky up there as well. Large bathroom but no area to keep your toiletries (a small table or shelf area would be a nice addition). I really didn't care for the heated toilet seat as it leaves you with a wet butt. Cabin is very old and a bit dark and dreary but relatively clean except for a few cobwebs hanging from lighting. Outside area a bit overgrown with no clear path to reach water for fishing although there is a beautiful view of Shaver's Fork from the deck, outdoor seating/eating area, a nice big hot tub and fire pit area. Quick response from owner to questions.

Highly recommend! Very private & peaceful. We had a great stay. House was very clean & stocked. Warren answered all of our questions quickly. Very stress free & enjoyable stay. We plan to book again with him.

We had a wonderful stay at the Tuckerman Retreat! It was the perfect romantic weekend getaway from the city and was just what we were looking for. Although there is really not much around the house and it is quite secluded, the privacy and natural surroundings were unmatched. The cabin felt just like home, was super cozy, and the bed + blackout curtains left us with some of the best sleep we've gotten in a long time. Jarred was a great host; he was super responsive and offered to go above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible! If you are looking for a place to unplug, feel connected to the outdoors, or just have a relaxing cozy weekend, the Tuckerman Retreat is a great choice. We will definitely be coming back!

My wife and I needed a trip away from the city for the long holiday weekend where we could enjoy some good activity in peaceful surroundings with our dog. This cozy pedestal cabin in Black Bear Resort was just what we were looking for. Check in was easy by picking up the keys at the resort lodge. The place had everything we needed to a cook a couple nights for ourselves, including the gas grill on the deck. The wall-mounted 4K flatscreen TV with Roku let us relax after three active days out and about in Canaan Valley while we listened to the thunderstorms roll over the mountains each evening. This would certainly be a fine place for folks (especially with kids -- there were two sets of bunk beds in the loft) to use a base for their WV adventures any time of year!

This rental was absolutely great! The host was super sweet and extremely flexible with checking in and out, which meet our needs! Lots to do for our kids, beautiful scenery, and very well kept. Highly recommend and would like to come back again!

It’s great location on the Shavers Fork river is a trout fisherman’s dream… we went as a group of 3 and really enjoyed our time in Bemis over the weekend… thank you Abby for letting us enjoy your little cabin…

Great little home with tons to do in the area. We had a great visit! Went skiing, hiking and sledding. Would book again.

What a perfect mountain getaway! Quiet, peaceful, and a good place to relax! After days of hiking in the Dolly Sods, we enjoyed the hammock and fire pit after! Definitely worth visiting again!

We had such a wonderful stay in Davis, WV and at Efi's place! There's a stream adjacent to the property that was so peaceful with deer at it all times of the day. Cabin is great- has everything you need! Close to shopping and dining which is great as well!! Can't wait to return.

We had a great family ski vacation. The house was a perfect layout for three couples and one child. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen was well equipped. We were pleased with the cleanliness when we arrived. We would definitely rent this house if we decide to vacation in Davis again.

Pansy was so friendly and her property is amazing! This is just the stay my friend and I were looking for - picturesque, quiet, remote, and off grid. I truly felt unplugged! The wind was wild and we watched some snow fall but we stayed toasty inside the cabin! As someone that drives back roads often, the road up to the cabin was fine in my AWD SUV. This stay fit all of our needs and then some! It was a great peaceful cabin next to the river and close to hiking and cross country skiing. The hot tub was clean, comfortable, and perfect for the winter weather. The surprise win for us were all the really nice appliances, which made prepping food at home a breeze. The place and the property was beautiful. Pretty basic, so bring your own towels and pillows and exerts blankets if you get cold easily. But it was clean and beautiful and comfortable. A gorgeous secluded getaway.

Spacious but cosy old style wooden cabin for a large family or a group. Loved the layout- two large living rooms. One is for kids the other for parents. Hot tub was a hit in our group. Big screen tv and Xbox for teens. Although it is near a major road, but the night was quest due to few cars passing through it. Wooden fireplace, enough bedrooms and bathrooms for our big group to enjoy the stay. Thanks you
