Cape Breton Island : chambres d'hôtel

We love our stay in Rose's Apartment at the Salty Rose and Periwinkle Cafe. The décor was tasteful, the bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped for cooking basic meals - a must when visiting during the off-season when most restaurants are closed. Sarabath and Caitlyn provided clear instructions on how to access the apartment, and left some nice little touches such as soap from the neighboring soap-maker. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't enjoy a latte and pastry at the Periwinkle Cafe, as it had closed for the seasons a few days prior. But that's on us for visiting at the end of October when tourist season is done. We would 100% recommend the apartment to other travelers!

We loved the proximity to the Cabot Trail and the Highlands Park along with the lovely setting in a beautifully restored old house. The Lily room was comfortable and roomy. Besides the special treat of a morning specialty drink and pastry in the dining room, it was a bonus for us to meet and get to know other travelers, making new friends!

The most cozy place I’ve ever stayed! Artsy, peaceful and fun. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. We loved our stay here. We will definitely come back.

Cozy, clean and very accommodating. Friendly, warm and welcoming staff. Much larger breakfast than I was anticipating! Overall would happily stay there again.

LOCATION: Great location right on the Cabot trail. Close to supermarket, cafe and a short walk to the beach. Quick drive to Franey Hill and Warren Lake trailheads. ROOM: The room and amenities are as seen on the photos and description. Coffee machine, microwave and TV were super convenient to have especially since most places closed at 7-8 pm. Having the farm to one side and the sea to the other made it an especially lovely experience. I can imagine kids loving it. HOST: Shannon and Ryan were very responsive and provided easy check-in instructions. A word about Jean, Ryan’s mom, who was lovely and warm and plied us with fresh coffee and gelato 😀 FINAL WORD: A convenient place to stay if you were looking at places to stay in Ingonish and on the Cabot Trail.

John’s charming Inn exceeded our expectations. The view from our Bay side window was spectacular. The room was quaint, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom had all the amenities you needed. John took the time to say hello and share the history of this beautiful inn and village of Baddeck. His wealth of knowledge of the area and experience in hosting is second to none. We will look forward to our next stay.

Good place to stay. Small hiccup on early check-in option presented by Airbnb, but that may be more a hidden setting and Airbnb's issue. Carmen was best kind. Everything was easy and quiet and convenient once checked in. Would happily stay here again and recommend. Great location, very comfortable atmosphere in the place.

This was a lovely place to stay! It was clean, nicely decorated with great attention to detail and good linens. They even provided some soda, bottled water, and snacks that were greatly appreciated. Overall fantastic suite and property that’s well taken care of and landscaped. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others. I’d probably not pay for private hot tub suite again though. The hot tub was “private”, but not on our suite’s patio as we expected; it was on a tightly-fenced trailer platform at the back of the property that was shared with another (fenced off) hot tub, so not quite the ambience we were expecting. All-in-all a great place to stay. The effort they put into making it nice and super comfortable is really apparent.
