Carnforth : locations de vacances dans des cottages

We spent 5 nights here at the end of March and start of April 2025. We were really fortunate with the weather and took full advantage of the wonderful location: scaling Slight Side and Scafell on one day, riding to Coniston via the bridleway on another and 'bagging' most of the Coniston fells on another day via Wrynose Pass. We ate in on a couple of nights and also went to the Wainwright's for some pub grub, as well as Stoves for their evening menu. Simon and Belinda's place is very well situated in Great Langdale for all kinds of walks and rides, food and decent pints. The house itself is a lovely place to return to in the evening with easy parking outside for our van and once inside, everything is spotless, well equipped and cosy. We really appreciated all the helpful information on bike routes and walking routes and spent the late evenings by the fire pouring over the Wainwright books planning the next day's adventures. 100% recommended.

The location was amazing and the views were spectacular. This home was exactly what it said on the tin. We were all blown away by it and had beautiful weather to make the most of the outdoor area. The only thing we did notice was that there wasn’t enough wine glasses & champagne flutes. Not ideal when there was 8 women so we had to use half pint glasses. We could have also done with more dishwasher tablets to last the stay. Apart from that it was perfect. Thank you.

Such a lovely place to stay, so peaceful and even better in the sun ( which we luckily had). We had such a relaxing stay and the beds were like a dream. Would definitely recommend this place for a break. It was so nice to see little rabbits running around and even better to have a little friend 🐱welcoming us in😊 Would stay here again. Thank you 😊😊

A wonderful place for the whole family. Very welcoming and hospitable hosts who shared their beautiful land with us and our young children. We will certainly be back to stay again.

What an amazing place this is and David is a fantastic host. If you’re looking for a party house then please look elsewhere. Whilst David’s place has a lovely indoor swimming pool and an outdoor hot tub, it also has delightful neighbours that must be respected. The place is spotless throughout, equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay and is wonderfully peaceful and secluded. David responds to communication within minutes and is always happy to help with recommendations and answers to all of your questions. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, the place is warm and very welcoming. There a a pub that does amazing food only 5 mins away by car (The Queens Arms). I recommend booking a meal as they do get very busy and it’s not hard to see why. You’re surrounded by the lovely Yorkshire Dales and its magnificent wildlife. If you have young children, this place has everything you need to entertain them both indoors and out. Great value for money 🙏🙏

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Emma's place. The secure garden was great for our dog to roam whilst we relaxed in the hot tub at the end of the day following plenty of walking around the Lakes. The cottage itself has loads of character but everything you need for your stay. We were fortunate to have the weather to make use of the gas BBQ. Emma was very welcoming and chilled with the fact we had a good run up and arrived half an hour before check-in time. Nothing was too much trouble and the fresh eggs were delicious! The cottage is just a 10 minute drive from Windermere, (20 minutes to Ambleside, 30 minutes to Grizedale forest), so whilst it's not in the throng of all us tourists, we benefited from the peace and quiet when we wanted it, but nothing was too far away. We'd also highly recommend the fish and chip shop in Staveley, just a 4 minute drive down the road. Hopefully we'll be back!

We have just spent a couple of wonderful days walking up penyghent. Moira's cottage was wonderful. Really clean and cosy and stocked with everything we needed. The walk up to pen-y-ghent starts literally right outside the doorstep which is very handy and a comfortable bed is exactly what we needed after the long walk. Thank you Mouira for your hospitality.

Superb, great location and wonderful host, if you're looking for a peaceful getaway in the lakes this is the place to go

we had a fantastic stay here. the cottage is beautiful, the garden with pod is perfect to enjoy the local scenery. it was the best sleep I've had in months, so quiet! John was always on hand if neded and very friendly & helpful. we felt very welcome. the cottage has everything you need and more!! I especially loved the history of the house and the way if was decorated/accessorised. my daughter absolutely loved it!! she is 10 and was very sad to leave. I'm certain we will return! the pub up the road was amazing...a lovely walk for tea! food was delicious and very good value. I would highly recommend this cottage and can't wait to come back. thank you John for being a wonderful host and letting us share in the history of this magnificent building.

I highly recommend this beautiful house in a quiet and peaceful location. Jill was an excellent host, helpful and informative and the house was spotlessly clean with excellent amenities. The surrounding fields had newborn lambs and free range chickens which added to the atmosphere. if you come across this property when looking for a place to stay, look no further and book it immediately.

Super place to stay, away from everything but village within a short walk. Felt at home immediately- lots of extras provided, toiletries, tea, milk, even slippers! Hosts very helpful with advice about walks and even sorted out a pair of walking shoes when one of us had forgotten theirs. The area is stunning. Walks in all directions. Would definitely return. What an amazing place to stay. Beautifully presented cottage in amazing surroundings - so peaceful and relaxing. Also great access to wonderful hikes in the Lake District. Sean was a great host with fantastic communication. Could not recommend enough!! Would love to go back :-)

Absolutely loved our anniversary stay at Crumble Cottage. Was everything we needed for relaxation and more On check in, Stewart was on hand and gave us an overview of the place, surroundings and suggested great places to visit and eat. The cottage itself is approx 15min walk into the centre of Cartmel - with great places to eat and drink there We visited the Wolf Predator experience by Grange-over-Sands - it was amazing!! Really enjoyed the comfort of the cottage and the tranquility- Will definitely be back again! Thanks for having us (Heidi & Craig) ☺️

Catherine is an excellent host, great communication and keen that everything is ok, quick response to queries raised. lovely welcome touch, of milk, cereal, bread, pastries, fruit juice jam, butter and apples and a supply of tea and coffee. Lovely compact cottage with a good kitchen, with a dishwasher and microwave. peaceful and quiet, away from everything but only a short drive in to Kendal

Cosy house & beautiful garden. Quiet location. Easy parking. All necessary appliances to self-cater etc. Great base to explore surrounding areas & escape busy Bowness!

Lovely little cottage that had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. Comfy bed, great shower with super nice shower gel, and lots of useful bits and bobs in the kitchen. Lovely surprise to have a bottle of Prosecco and cookies left for us too - thank you! Perfect location for walking into the village, eating at Rogan & Co and exploring the Southern Lakes. We went to Netherwood Spa for a 90 min Thermal Journey which is a 10 min drive, highly recommend after a day of walking! Would definitely come back and stay here again.

The house was immaculately presented and supplied with everything needed for a relaxing stay. It is centrally located with everything within walking distance yet still peaceful. A great find and highly recommended.

this is a beautiful cottage set in a lovely quiet location in walking distance to some nice pubs and villages. Deborah and Tim are both lovely, welcoming and we're helpful with information on the surrounding area for walking and places to visit, they have also a lovely cottage that's been done to a very high standard and has everything in you need. the log fire is lovely and the bedroom with a copper bathtub and shower are just amazing, can't wait to return thank you so much.

This was a beautiful spot, nice & private & accessible to the lake for a beautiful sunset pic opportunity. Very clean & tidy on arrival & we tried our best to leave it as we found it.
