Had a great stay - Kings Dominion is practically in the backyard! Great outdoor and indoor spaces for a group. Host was very responsive!

This place was a private oasis within easy distance to Ashland and Randolph-Mason College. The house has wonderful early 19th century architecture and charm with updated amenities such as internet and modern plumbing. The house is tucked away on a dirt road back behind a corn field. There are plenty of places for you and your 4-legged companions to roam. There is a quaint garden out back, a grill, and a fire pit for those who love the outdoors. Indoors boasts a library, living room, kitchen and dining room all furnished with pieces in keeping with the history of the home. Up the narrow, winding staircases (there are 2) are 4 bedrooms and a second bath with a claw foot tub. Some of the electrical outlets have yet to be updated but the owners have provided power strips equipped with adapters. While I have to admit this may not be an option for city dwellers, people with very small children, or those with handicaps, I loved it and felt right at home.

The whole site was super cool and I wish I could have stayed longer! Booked last minute but will definitely keep this place in mind if I have future lodging needs in this area!

The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. I loved the options for add ons. We got breakfast and had a fire pit with smores. The coffee maker was easy. The rocking chairs were perfect for bird watching and reading. The snafu of a spring dance gone raucous at the event site was remedied through quick and generous communication (with an equitable refund). It was quite lovely and I’d love to go back and try a different cabin just because I’d love to see the other unique touches.

Wali's place was as described! Clean was an understatement. Cozy, but large enough, and well thought out. I had a dog with me, and she loved the fenced in backyard, so much so that she decided it was her's and she needed to protect it from the neighborhood dogs and voices over the privacy fence! I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

My family and I loved “glamping” here! The place was so nice inside and looked just like the pictures. It also had a nice fire pit area outside. The kids especially loved all of the goats! Colby was friendly and responsive. We had a great stay!

We enjoyed exploring the farm, petting the animals, and walking the trails around the property as much as we enjoyed historic F’burg. It was quiet and beautiful inside and outside the little house. It was comfy in there and had everything we needed. And a comfy bed and couch! The book of history of the house was a really cool touch. We can’t wait to come back!

I was hoping to stay on a farm where you could interact with the animals. There were goats and a miniature donkey. I got to pet them, brush Jack the donkey, held a baby goat and feed them all carrots that I brought. Inside our space was clean and comfortable. It was just the porch area was cluttered with stuff as you walked in. It didn’t bother us, but just wanted it noted for others. I would stay again!!

We enjoyed our stay. The place was exactly as had been described online. Very peaceful and quiet. The hosts were friendly and made us feel at home. They shared a little history of the place as well. Will definitely visit again.

Took a trip down south to get away from NYC for a few days and the cozy cottage didn't disappoint. When entering the location you have to go down a long driveway which makes you feel right in the woods. It was a beautiful walk for the dogs too! As soon as we entered the cozy cottage my daughter said it best: "this feels very homely." Spacious for our family which included 2 big dogs. The hottub, private yard and fooseball table only added to the feel. The kitchen had everything you need for family dinners. Comfortable beds, couches, screened in patio, laundry and a firepit. What more could you ask for when traveling to a new place? Convenient location to Richmond (~35mins) and Ashland (~12mins). Also did some local hikes which were great! If you're looking at a spot for the family and furry friends don't hesitate to book this location. We'd highly recommend Rose and the cozy cottage. Thanks for the great experience and great stay!

Cabin is unique and very enjoyable. Location is quiet but just off main road and nearby restaurants etc. We have stayed here five times in last three years. Always enjoyable. In the cold months we had a roaring fire in the fireplace and made smores. Dogs enjoyed it too. Private and with plenty of space for walking dogs. Highly recommend

My husband and I made a one night stop in the area to get off the road after a long day of driving. This cabin was so beautiful and peaceful and totally different from other Airbnbs or roadside hotels. We loved the woods and the little lake — beautiful spots to walk our dog. I would love to come back to this property. Very grateful to Jennifer for the swift and helpful communication, too!

I cannot fully express how incredible this stay was. From the beautiful location, adorable cottage, prompt response, extreme kindness…. It was just what I needed and more! I will definitely be making this a regular occurrence to stay here and recharge. Perfect retreat for someone who needs a break from the craziness of everyday life. 10/10
