I was so sad to leave the River House! It was peaceful and private even with hosts on the same plot of land. The house is beautiful and full of thoughtful details, and we loved spending slow mornings reading and playing piano taking in the natural surroundings. We originally chose to stay here because the house itself looked amazing and like a lot of fun for our dogs to play in the River, then we fell in love with Ukiah too. We hope to come back and kayak when it’s warmer out. Thanks for having us

Home was so private and serene. Being in the redwood trees was really magical. Very comfortable home with all the amenities you would need. Also close to the beach and to the small town. Had a wonderful stay and really looking forward to coming back soon.

This home is decorated so beautifully, and the kitchen is very well appointed. They really thought of everything, even providing crab cracking tools! The decor is thoughtfully artistic and eclectic, exactly the vibe I'm looking for when staying in Mendo. The hosts were easy to communicate with and very supportive. The views are incredible. I would absolutely consider renting this place again.

Great stay for a low-key gathering of friends which included a few young children. Spacious common area was great for everyone to be able to hangout together. Kitchen was well-equipped; we cooked a few meals. The neighborhood is peaceful and beautiful. Responsive and friendly host. Flexible checkout. Would stay again!

We stayed here for our 23rd anniversary, and this home exceeded our expectations. We normally stay bluff side, but I'm glad we didn't. Pauline has put so much thought into making this the perfect get away and the layout is ideal for a couple looking for a quiet and private retreat. We loved the hot tub, views, fireplace (which worked great ;-) and the wonderfully comfortable beds. Many whale spouts and great dinners at the Vue and Sea Ranch Lodge where we charged our car.

I spent a 3 generation girls weekend at Eva's. We walked in the home and were shocked as to how amazing the home was. Better than the photos! The best moment was when we realized we were hearing the seals from the beach. The home was so clean, and the furniture so comfortable. You would never know that pups were allowed! It's also a perfect midpoint to Mendocino and fort brag.

Deldi is an excellent host. Great communication and always easy to contact. The home is in a great location. Two minutes to the bluff trail and you can sit on the balcony with a glass of wine looking at the sun setting over the ocean while deer graze in the front yard. Magical!

We were lucky to find the perfect time for staying at this beautiful spot. It was a great location, with parking off the street, access to nearby headland trails- while still being walkable to the rest of town. Our host, Mary was the very picture of hospitality- reaching out to us to coordinate our arrival after a delay driving through the Bay Area; then again intermittently checking in with us to make sure there were no problems. Prior to our stay, she was also very helpful and listed recommendations on places to eat. We had a wonderful stay and intend to return to enjoy the lovely views and relaxing environment we find ourselves wishing we could live in full time.

Deborah’s place was so very excellent, pillows were thick, had many extras like plush white bathrobes, a heated mattress pad, ceiling fan, 2 tvs and iremotes, snacks and coffee. I never met her but wanted to thank her, wondered if she was an interior decorator! Her attention to the little details really made it a special place to stay!

Great location. Right by the state park. Walkable to all restaurants and downtown nearby. Super clean place. Very private. The ocean can be seen from the living room. The garden in the backyard is inspiring and calming. Absolutely the best Airbnb I have stayed at. I wish all the airbnbs were like this one. The place looks exactly like the picture, maybe even better in reality. The place is decorated beautifully with rustic charm all throughout. We stayed with our 2 year old and he loved it as well! 5/5. Highly recommend and I would love to stay again if I come back.

Great spot right on the lake! The place is incredibly spacious and well-equipped. Not walkable to much other than the lake, but very convenient to get places by car. The lake view from the deck was lovely. Honestly was a perfect studio that could be a great for a long term stay too.

We had a lovely stay at Madrid's love nest. The bed was very comfortable. Nice big dining room table to sit at and enjoy cheese and wine. Very comfortable bed and nice and quiet area for relaxation. The kitchen had a couple plates and some utensils but not fully equipped for cooking. I wish they had at least 1 sharp knife. We had bought a baguette and a salami that we had to try to cut with a butter knife. We made due and all in all it was a wonderful stay. Close to restaurants, coffee and a bar.

We stayed here for three nights and I have to say that my feelings about the place totally changed while we were there. Initially, I was surprised by how small and dark this little studio was (I was taken in by the professional photos in the listing!) and was worried that we would feel cramped and not want to spend free time there, but by the afternoon of day two, I was excited and charmed when coming back to this sweet little cozy space tucked into a corner of the old historic building. It’s a lovely little nest with every amenity one might want. We didn’t cook a full meal, but one could have and we appreciated the advantage of having a full kitchen. The unique little touches of snacks and record player were fun and decadent. I didn’t think I’d say this when we first arrived, but we would definitely stay here again!

All I can say is wow, what a perfect stay we had at The Guest Nest! Kerry's place is beautiful, inside and out - spotlessly clean, well thought out, cozy and spacious. Lots of light during the day, and the fireplace kept us warm at night. The views from the windows, porches & garden are amazing, from the garden, to the grounds with the deer grazing, to the ocean. Absolutely fantastic neighborhood as well...Caspar Headlands and Caspar Beach are an easy walk, and they're both gorgeous. Last but certainly not least, Kerry was an amazing host - extremely helpful, kind and communicative. If I ever find myself in the Mendocino area again (which I hope to!), I would absolutely love to stay in The Guest Nest again, just an amazing place/host!

Love this place! Stayed here for a few weeks and couldn’t have picked a better location. Has a view of the ocean (where you can watch sunset) and is walking distance to everything in town. Quiet corner and cozy spot. Will definitely be back!
