I had a wonderful stay at this earthen home! The overall experience was great, and I really appreciated the unique atmosphere of the place. The connection to nature was something special, and the aesthetic of the home was both beautiful and peaceful. One of the highlights of my stay was the outdoor shower—it felt magical, surrounded by nature and the open sky. It was such a refreshing experience! The host was fantastic, with great communication throughout, making the stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a tranquil, nature-filled getaway!

This spot is absolutely GORGEOUS, we were completely in awe as we arrived during sunset and woke up to the first light touching the tips of the mountains, truly blown away by the beauty of this little gem of a place. The dam was extremely beautiful and refreshing to swim in even in the middle of winter! We will definitely be returning!

Jeff is a wonderful host, amazing person, the venue is more than I expected to be honest, and the people of De Rust are amazing people. The people is what made the stay valuable, anyone can build accomodation and hot tubs etc, but Noone can just build a character,and De Rust,along with Jeff, is full of it.

We enjoyed a very peaceful stay at Cango retreat with a lot of friendly animals on site and in a beautiful location.

Our stay was absolutely perfect! The house was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed. The views were breathtaking, offering complete peace and serenity. The hosts were incredibly helpful, ensuring our stay was smooth. We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway—highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat!

Very enjoyable farm stay with a very friendly and hospitable family, surrounded by beautiful nature. The house is not big but comfortable and has anything you need for a short break. Especially loved the hot tub, which the hosts kindly fired every night for me - what pleasure to relax in hot water and admire the night sky full of stars! Louis and his family are such open, friendly and hospitable people - it is a privilege to have been given an opportunity to be their guest. The farm is not far from Oudtshoorn and is easily accessible, I was given clear instructions and had no problem at all finding the place. Great stay overall.

Wish we could have stayed longer - pure paradise! We loved every second here, especially falling asleep to the sound of the stream outside the cottage! Thanks for a lovely stay 😊

We had the most delightful stay last weekend in Prince Albert! "The Olive Thrush Cottage" exceeded our expectations in the small town of Prince Albert. The home is lovely, well appointed, yet comfortable and dog friendly. Riaan was a gracious hostess, and very prompt with communication. The cottage was spacious and the interior decorating very tasteful. Added delights, a super king bedroom which was perfect, outdoor shower and private courtyard for our doggie. The little cottage deserve more then the one night we stayed there. A incredible stay and the highlight of our trip. 5 STARS all round, thank you Riaan!

Lovely and close to town, surprisingly peaceful! Very clean house and has everything you would need. I was a little surprised at how close the neighbour's were, but overall it was an excellent stay!!! Would definitely recommend it.

One word to describe this place and home, ZEN! Beautiful home with a welcoming feel. Relaxing atmosphere at the pool and walking the labyrinth was so calming for the mind! We loved our stay, and Ampie our host was really wonderful, welcoming and accommodating. We enjoyed the restaurant “De Krans” close by. Highly recommend!

Great value for money. Beautiful tent with an amazing bathroom. Outside shower was fantastic. One thing to note is that tent 9 and tent 10 are in an area with a pool with no net so parents with young children might want to choose the other tents if their children aren't water safe. A great stay.

Oh WOW! From the start this was a special place. Julia communicated with more information way before the booking so we knew about braai-packs, meals, horse riding etc. written in a very charming PDF. The house already had milk, farm butter, marmalade, Doornkraal Chenin Blanc in the fridge, coffee (and a plunger!!) tea, rusks, plums from that day's harvest. When travelling on a roadtrip, having things like this means we could really just arrive. +50 points for this! Breakfast was delicious! Fresh fruits, brand and cheese scones that we immediately slathered with the delicious butter, quince jam and marmalade from the fridge.Doornkraal farmstall lunch (20 mins away) - most delicious roosterkoeke and dessert wine. We also did a horse ride on the beautiful farm and ended with a sunset picnic which was incredible. Each bite amazing, delicious chutney, mustard, ostrich fillet, stuf more roosterkoek and their sparkling wine. Amazing people, special place, we will be back. Huis. Baie dankie!

I had been dreaming about the farm for a few months . Imagining the stars, huge skies,Cape Fold Mountains, fynbos, birds, butterflies and farm freedom - it gave me all of this & new born baby lambs! My boys particularly loved the gracious gift of homemade bread and farm butter ! So delicious ! The farm created the sweetest feeling as we arrived after the exciting stunning drive up Seweweeks Poort with fire red walls of rock aweing us at every turn . We arrived latish at about 6 but it's still light in summer & the berg wind was exciting & dramatic. As I walked into Bergzicht cottage I was transported to my childhood farm visits in Richmond- it was the farm smell, the charm & magic of the artwork, decor simplicity my soul craved . Perfect annex - privacy from our teenagers, loved having our doggies sleep in front of the comforting fireplace . Walks in the fynbos up to the dam and koptjie with hounds surrounded by sunbirds beeeaters butterflies with the dramatic mountains : )

We loved our stay, perfectly situated as a half way point for our trip to Cape Town. Karen was lovely and communicated throughout, being able to order dinner for the evening was a nice touch and the lamb was great. Thank you for having us

This place was absolutely magical - the treehouse feels whimsical and Harry Potterish and the setting is outstanding . Be aware that this is a water shortage area - take your own drinking water and towels to reduce your use of their water . Wonderful walks and all so peaceful - next time we will stay longer !

A perfect escape into the serene! This peaceful farm cabin near Calitzdorp is a hidden treasure. Waking up to birdsong and the stars dancing in the clear night sky - unmatched Klein Karoo magic. The location is ideal, the host exceptional, and the amenities more than you’d expect for a getaway like this. I left feeling completely refreshed. Highly highly recommended. Thank you Petro ✨

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt bei Gert. Zum Glück hat Gert auch einen späteren Check-In möglich gemacht. Bei einem der Spaziergänge in Gerts Grundstück kam uns eine Kap-Kobra entgegen, welche zum Glück schnell die Flucht ergriff. Der Sternenhimmel bei Nacht lädt zum Verweilen ein.

Annelene & Riaan’s place was truly the perfect place to stay over at after a long drive from Gauteng to Cape Town. Best was the full access to DSTV so could watch a rugby game. We will definitely stay over again if passing through Beaufort West anytime soon.

We had a lovely stopover on way to Plett, great Braai facility, comfy beds. Nice to experience a night on a farm in the Karoo.

We spent 2 nights and it was amazing stay. The place was the perfect location, walkable within reach of restaurants and shops. Jude wad the perfect host, she took care of everything from restaurants reservations to recommendations for things and no ask was not too big for her to help. 100% recommend staying with Jude and Brian. Loved the plunge pool and the Braii( BbQ grill). The house and grounds are beautiful and very comfortable.

Wij waren 3 nachten daar en ik hoop echt dat ik er ooit veel langer naartoe kan. Prachtig gelegen. Je hoeft eigenlijk niet van je terras te komen om te genieten. Maar er is ook zoveel te doen in de omgeving. Zowel dichtbij als vanuit Calitzdorp. We bezochten oa de winerys in Calitzdorp, ( ook een kleintje op westoewer)en uitstekende restaurants.We gingen rondrijden in de bergen naar de red stone hills. Maar gewoon wandelen in de buurt naar de rivier en de rondwandeling doen, is ook een aanrader. Het huis is net of de tijd is ooit blijven stilstaan ergens midden in de vorige eeuw. Maar alle moderne comfort is wel aanwezig. Zalige douche trouwens. Jack was meer dan behulpzaam en zijn reacties kwamen bijna onmiddellijk. In de ijskast stond een lekkere fles rosé op ons te wachten. Kortom volmaakt voor ons.

We had a wonderful stay at Leonis. Easy check in, the space is lovely and had everything we needed. Quiet, very clean, it was a pleasure to stay at Leonis while in Prince Albert.
