This was one of the best places we have stayed in Sri Lanka with the view of Adams Peak from the room. The scenery was breathtaking and the atmosphere was relaxing. Our attendee, Siva, was excellent and helped us from the check-in, serving food and all the way to check-out. They serve authentic Sri Lankan delicious food in the restaurant and the price was extremely reasonable. Would highly recommend to family and friends.

A true retreat, nestled in the mountains. think stunning views, tranquility, wild peacocks and monkeys,but not a handy location to sight see from. Map was misleading and Haputhale is an hour away. Rooms are simple with delightful antiques. Staff are very courteous but have very limited English. Food was simple and delicious Sri Lankan cuisine. Make sure you book meals in advance. They kindly arranged a delicious birthday cake for us. Beautiful gardens with architectural features everywhere, lovely views, good swimming pool but lacking any comfortable seating. A truly unique place to get away from modern life.

I enjoyed my 7 night stay at Shamini’s guest room with the tall trees nearby, her lawned garden and the scenic walk through the suburbs, past the golf course down into Nuwara Eliya. For the cooler climate a blanket was provided in addition to the duvet. Shamini welcomed me into her family home & generously showed me so many interesting traditional recipes & kitchen tools, like an incised bowl that helps separate stones from fresh sesame seeds. She assisted me with finding a local car & driver, and accompanied me to the bus station to ensure I found the right information & got on the correct bus. The only negatives were things outside Shamini’s control: a temple loudspeaker broadcasting loud morning chants at 04:57, a restaurant nearby blaring music, and construction work banging into the late hours. But this is life as it is in Sri Lanka. :)

5 min drive to the Lion's rock. We loved our stay at Sisira's place. His family were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Easy and flexible check in. The food were very tasty.

Namal is an excellent host and his place is situated in a very pleasant environment where you have the view of the beautiful tea plantation and the lake (unless it's dry season). He is very helpful and makes sure that his guests have everything they need. His mother cooks excellent traditional Sri Lankan dishes for a very affordable price (best coconut sambar we tried). Namal is very well aware of the attractions around Maskeliya and can arrange very interesting sightseeing for you. We visited 5 waterfalls of breathtaking beauty, climbed the Adam's Peak and walked Horton Plains (it took us 4 days do it all). Our trips were handled by a very positive and considerate driver Taraka, whom Namal recommended. This fine gentleman was the best tuk tuk driver we ever met. In our humble opinion, the views from the top of the Gartmore waterfalls and surrounding tea estate (there are two viewpoints there) are better than those at Lipton's Seat and Horton Plains. In addition to that, the two lakes around Maskeliya are of mesmerizing beauty. All in all it makes Maskeliya a hidden gem for a demandful traveler, and Namal's place an excellent home for some of your best Sri Lankan adventures. The only drawback is that there almost aren't any decent places to eat aside from Namal's house, since Maskeliya is not a touristic place. Hopefully his mother will be there when you book the place!

The short stay with Nemal was great. We couldn't find the accommodation straight away as the entrance to the building was under construction, but the lower floors were built normally. Nemal is a very friendly host who gives you great tips for climbing Adam's Peak and prepares great food and lunch packages. The hostel was about a 10-minute walk from the start of Adam's Peak. We booked the accommodation for 1 night and were happy with it.

Vi havde to fantastisk nætter hos Green Wood. Fra første sekund tog de søde værter imod os med smil og latter, de fik os til at føle os hjemme og velkomne fra starten. Værelset var rummeligt og rent, derudover var der en dejlig terrasse hvor man kunne nyde en kop the eller andet i de rolige og smukke omgivelser. Green Wood er placeret blandt træer og uden støj fra vej, men samtidig i gå afstand fra alt der er relevant i området, så beliggenheden kunne ikke være bedre. Sidst men ikke mindst lavede vores vært det mest fantastisk hjemmelavede Sri Lankanske mad til os, både morgenmad og aftensmad var fantastisk. Tak for et dejligt ophold og for at smitte os med jeres grin, smil og positive energi.

Wij hebben ontzettend genoten van ons verblijf. Jayanti is een geweldige gastvrouw en maakt heerlijke ontbijtjes. Daarnaast serveert ze heerlijke thee, en kan je een kookles bij haar volgen. Het was echt perfect en we zouden het iedereen aanraden. Nogmaals heel erg bedankt Jayanti :)

the location is superb in terms of views, tranquility and away from traffic and commotions. The kitchen was well equipped and had all the desired amenities as well. There was a spare room available which was used by the driver. The kitchen had most of the amenities but not much of stock in terms of food grains or eggs which you have to have beforehand. Kandy town is 14 km away. Otherwise it was a pleasant and refreshing stay. wish we had more days to spend here. Also the main bedroom has a breathtaking view. In short loved it. Had some trouble finding the place initially as the address given by Airbnb and that by the host separately did not match.

We had two nights in this beautiful place. The hosts are very friendly and flexible. You can also Rent a scooter for daytrips which is great. I recommend trying the awesome breakfast and Dinner. A very nice family and hosts.

It was quite a clean and very spacious place. Mahesh has always been responsive and even managed to squeeze the driver into an extra room quickly. Hayesh at the front office has also been very helpful too. We had a great time there and can be recommended to anyone.

Sumanasiri is an excellent host. He's very welcoming, friendly and helpful. He arranged a guide for a bicycle tour of the ancient city, cooked our breakfast and dinner and drove us to Kandy at the end of our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable and well located; walking distance to the lake and a short cycle ride to the ancient city.

We had a great stay there. Despite her busy schedule she prepared our breakfast. Thanks to Hemali and her father who also gave us sincere service.

Bardzo polecamy pobyt u Salindy i jego rodziny, są oni bardzo przyjaźni i pomocni, zaoferowali nam bardzo dobre śniadanie i kolację, udostępnili sprzęt do wyprania ubrań po safari, które swoją drogą organizują w dobrej cenie, wiec polecam skorzystać z usługi. Pokoje były czyste, klimatyzacja działała bez zarzutów.

Eomal e sua moglie, incluso tutto lo staff, ci hanno trattati quasi come dei figli, sono stati dolcissimi e ci hanno trasmesso il loro amore per quello che fanno, dal trattamento del cliente alla passione del luogo in cui vivono, in una vallata stupenda nei pressi di Ohiya. Colazione e cena ottime, servizio impeccabile, ci siamo sentiti come a casa. Essendo stato il mio compleanno, mi ha organizzato insieme alla mia fidanzata una sorpresa inaspettata coinvolgendo gli altri ospiti, è stato davvero gradito. Escursioni stupende da fare in zona, dal Pekoe Trail agli Horton Plains, per gli amanti del trekking un vero paradiso. Grazie ancora davvero per lo splendido soggiorno ❤️🙏🏻

Totally recommend coming here! The family were so kind and helpful. The home cooked food was some of the best of our whole trip! They helped us to organise tours to Horton plains, Lipton seat and diyaluma waterfall. They also picked us up and dropped us at the train station which was really kind. We really enjoyed staying here and would stay here again.

I can't thank Shanthi family enough. I started my Sri Lankan adventure in their beautiful home eating their deliciously prepared Sri Lankan meals. Took a Yoga class with them was really amazing and inspirational. While I was there we gained priceless travel advice that made m trip!
