10/10. Very happy. Was travelling with an infant and Jacquie was very accommodating and understanding of the extra requirements when travelling with a child. Very happy with my stay and would love to stay again in future.

I am not sure I can add more superlatives to my last review - lovely house, perfect location and terrific hospitality.

Beautiful warm clean accommodation . The bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in. Bathroom was large, very clean and hot water. Julie left us a wide choice of breakfast including vegan, lovely. Very private and quiet, parking. Attention to detail was great “sheep” .

Very pleasant stay Dean was very helpful the full English breakfast was great both days great base for exploring the lakes we would definitely stay there again only slight negative was the shower wasn’t very powerful and the bed was a bit uncomfortable but that wouldn’t stop us visiting again thanks

Great stopover whilst doing the C2C cycle. There is bike storage, a large and well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and clean bathroom. The local pub was not serving food so we went via the co-op in Stanhope to stock up on food. When we arrived at the airbnb there was fruit and breakfast ingredients - a great touch! Sophie was good at communicating and Lizzie was very welcoming - thank you!

This was late booking done on the day. Couldn't have asked for quicker response. House and grounds are great with table tennis and sauna available which we didn't have chance to use due to our own time constraints. Bedroom/living room/kitchen area have everything you could need. Bathroom huge and includes shower and slipper bath. Warm and cosy house, comfortable bed and lovely white linen. Highlight was sitting out watching the badgers feeding on the lawn at dusk. Wanted to see badgers for ever! Food at the pub owned by Richard was great and only minute away on village main street. Richard and Ros very welcoming and friendly. They have thought of everything, far too much to mention. Highly recommend to other guests and hope to return.

Stayed 4 days in Paul’s lovely cottage, just a short walk from Hawkshead village. The accommodations were as expected and Paul could not have been a more gracious host. He has a wealth of local knowledge and directed us on some beautiful walks. Breakfasts were fantastic! Would absolutely return in a heartbeat.

100% worth the price, best of the best. We had a really really great time together. Pete has a very strong sense of humor, and Carole makes us a wonderful local feast and breakfast. It’s FLAWLESS! My family is really enjoyed. One thing I hate is our English is not so good that we can’t express all our happiness. Even that, they use translation apps to break the barrier. There are so many wonderful details that can't be expressed in the comments. They show the true brilliance of humanity and tell us that friendship knows no boundaries. 100 out of 10!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Joyce's lovely home. She kindly offered me a lift from the station and I appreciated the plentiful items provided for breakfast. The guest's sitting/dining area makes for a very comfortable stay. I will definitely consider booking with Joyce again when visiting this delightful old town in the future. The area is absolutely beautiful and there are plenty of nice places to eat the town including a Buchon a French bistro and Saathi an Indian restaurant recommended to me by Joyce which was excellent.

We thought we were going to love it here and we were right. Sheri’s hospitality and willingness to go the extra mile (accommodating my husband’s dietary requirements for instance) only enhanced our stay at this very special location. We’d love to go again!

Brilliant location, hosts really friendly, and gave us lots of information about the area. Plenty to see and do. Great breakfast.

Lovely family room with comfortable beds and spotless bathroom. Great spot at end or start of Hadrian’s Wall trail. Breakfast great as was the food in the Bistro in the evening. Only minor downside was room was very bright as blinds didn’t block light.

Expect to be spoiled with fabulous brekkies and good value Packed lunches (if wanted). Bedrooms clean and well presented with everything you need on hand. Nothing too much trouble for Angela. Also Countryside beautiful in this whole area. Definitely recommend a stay at this comfortable home from home.

Sarah was warm, friendly and made us feel welcome. We had warm muffins and cups of tea on arrival and also when we returned from our outings the following day. Our room on the ground floor was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. Breakfast was served in a lovely dining room, the breakfast menu was extensive and the food was cooked and served by Sarah. We highly recommend Claremont House and will definitely be staying there again, when we are next in the UK.

Jayne and Karl are the most wonderful, welcoming and friendly hosts I’ve met. From the moment we arrived soaking wet from walking all day along the Hadrian’s Wall Path in the rain Jayne gave us a friendly welcome and offered to dry our wet boots. The rooms were warm, the beds VERY comfortable and the views outstanding and the peace was wonderful too. The home cooked food was tasty and cooked with great care and we opted for a packed lunch to take with us too. If you’re walking the Hadrian’s Wall Path find a way to stay here! Thank you Jayne and Karl.

Had the most fantastic time here. Adam and Symone were the perfect hosts and made our experience so lovely with all their attention to detail. From the communication pre arrival to the wonderful breakfasts in the morning (homemade compote was a highlight), everything was perfect. Would definitely recommend it for your next trip to the lakes!

Clare is a great host and a very nice person! Provided me with everything that I needed for my stay and even more! Lovely place, felt at home. Lovely dogs very friendly. Good bed, bedroom with a lot of space, good bathroom and shower, lot of space on the wardrobe, a place to make a coffee and a mini fridge. Perfect place to be!!

What a beautiful home, in a beautiful location. Pat was an amazing host, was very responsive to my questions and went over and beyond to make me feel welcome. The dogs were extremely well natured and a delight to be around. I had a very relaxing weekend, with great food and company. So thanks again.

We stayed here with our two dogs to break the journey on our return home from Scotland. Patricia was so kind and friendly and a true dog lover. The garden was safe and enclosed so our dogs could have a good run around. The annex was super clean, very spacious and we had a lovely breakfast before setting off. I highly recommend Patricia's B&B.

Liz was a very sweet host, she welcomed us like we were home. She cooked super nice breakfast for us every morning with different options and she made sure we were met with all our needs. Besides Liz hospitality, the bedroom was very clean, comfortable bed and beautiful views. If you're looking for a quiet place to escape your busy life, this would be the perfect place. There are a few small towns nearby in which Liz gave us some good recommendations of places to eat and visit. Thanks again for everything, keep up the good work Liz :) Paul & Erika

Jenny is a superb host, friendly and easy to get on with. Lovely home, clean and comfortable, really quiet area and walkable into Dumfries town centre. Fabulous bathroom and use of kitchen facilities. Good breakfast would definitely return.
