This was the perfect place for us to stay for a night on the way down from Scotland. Patricia and Alan were very friendly and welcoming. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast was absolutely delicious!

Sandy has a beautiful house and garden, which are private with interesting decor and furniture. As a host, she was perfect, communication was kind, breakfast was bountiful, and the rooms were comfortable and peaceful. Special mention for Cara, with very friendly terrier, and she got on very well with our Cavapoo Stan.

This is such a wonderful place! It is charming, cozy and beautifully decorated. It is perfectly located to explore the Northern Fells of the Lake District with beautiful scenery all around. The house itself was perfect in every way and the owners were very generous with little touches around the house, with bread and milk on arrival, food for breakfast and much more. The fire was set for us and there were lots of fresh flowers. This is a great place to stay and we had an amazing weekend there.

This was my home from home. I had a room that suited my style, with an extremely comfy bed and a FEATHER PILLOW! Sheer comfort. Having a bathroom space just for me was great. My host was welcoming, but not interfering, and I was left to come and go and do just as I wanted.

We had an amazing stay at this Airbnb! The place was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained. Tess, the host was great, responsive, and made sure everything was perfect for our visit. The location was ideal—quiet yet close to everything we needed. My famiky truly felt at home and appreciated all the thoughtful touches that made our stay comfortable. Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming and stress-free experience! 😊

Our second time staying, but this time with two toddlers as well. Helen and Peter couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We felt very so welcome and they really looked after us. We all enjoyed the lovely breakfast provided and slept well in the peaceful and comfortable room. This is a perfect b&b and we would highly recommend.

Exceptional! The accommodation was spacious, quirky in a good way, surprisingly well equipped, and no expense spared. Our host Ivan was extremely helpful and a pleasure to talk to. We plan to return!

Wow, what a great studio. The ensuite bedroom is fantastic and the bath is so luxurious. The kitchen has everything you need and the lounge is lovely and relaxing. Just a short stroll and you are in the centre of Hexham for bars, cafes and restaurants. It's also a great base for exploring g the wider Northumberland countryside. We will definitely be looking to return again soon. Thanks for hosting us.

I booked as a treat for my mum and myself as a Mother’s Day surprise! The process of booking, the venue and hosting couldn’t have been any better - just brilliant! Stunning rooms and decor, gorgeous location, the views and walk around the area were a dream. Zoe was so welcoming and we really felt we could relax and enjoy. Highly recommend! Julie is a friendly host. Extremely helpful. Lovely cozy annexe with everything supplied. Tea, coffee and eggs . Bread and milk too . Excellent cake too. Right on Pennine Way. Can’t wait to come back.

What a lovely find for a last minute get away. Very easy to book and communication was excellent. We were greeted by Martin, who offered to help with our luggage, quirky followed by Howard. Both hosts were friendly, chatty and welcoming and were available if we needed anything during our stay. Howie provided us with a parking permit, a bargain at £5 and Martin showed us to our suite to make sure we were happy. Recommendations for places to visit were also given The suite was spotless and had everything we needed for our short stay. Bed was super comfy, fluffy towels and it was great to have a living area to relax when we returned later in the evening. On leaving the following morning, Martin came to say bye and again offered to carry our luggage. We had a lovely time, great hosts and will definitely return and recommend to family and friends. Thanks Martin and Howie.

My friends and I had a lovely stay at this property after a day of walking! Hosts were very helpful and responsive providing full instructions for all the wonderful amenities and local recommendations. Property was beautiful, clean and had a beautiful garden area. We particularly loved being able to have our morning coffee in the sun on the little terrace. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others - thank you! 🙏

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Motherby House and am so grateful to the hosts, Jacquie and David, for making me feel so welcome. They’re both kind and engaging—and they gave me some great recommendations for places to eat and visit in the area. Breakfast was delicious and Jacquie kindly made me a tasty packed lunch for my hike! I’d be very happy to stay here again.

Stayed here for a friend’s wedding at a local venue, was 10 mins away and easy enough to book a cab to get there. Very clean, friendly staff (lad on his first day did a great job) and in one of the most beautiful areas of the U.K. I’ve ever visited. Portable heater in the room was very very useful as well and easy enough to figure out. Staff even returned an item I left in the room after checking out before I left, which I was really grateful for.

Beautiful warm clean accommodation . The bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in. Bathroom was large, very clean and hot water. Julie left us a wide choice of breakfast including vegan, lovely. Very private and quiet, parking. Attention to detail was great “sheep” .

Lovely welcoming house and hosts, in a beautiful area with outstanding countryside, lakes & hills. Room had all facilities , restful and comfy ; attention to detail exceptional and a brilliant breakfast in the room . Recommend !

Rachel and John are the perfect hosts. Their house is beautiful. The conservatory and garden were such an amazing place to chill. John and Rachel are walkers ans went out of their way to share their recommendations about the amazing walks around the area. Would not have had the kind of experience around d Crummock lake and Ennerdale waters if it had not been for their guidance and recommendations. Rachel was also very accommodative with the timings of my breakfast....could not have asked for a better place to stay on my solo road trip :)

Jayne and Karl are the most wonderful, welcoming and friendly hosts I’ve met. From the moment we arrived soaking wet from walking all day along the Hadrian’s Wall Path in the rain Jayne gave us a friendly welcome and offered to dry our wet boots. The rooms were warm, the beds VERY comfortable and the views outstanding and the peace was wonderful too. The home cooked food was tasty and cooked with great care and we opted for a packed lunch to take with us too. If you’re walking the Hadrian’s Wall Path find a way to stay here! Thank you Jayne and Karl.
