City of Carlisle : chambres d'hôtel

A last minute cancellation with another property led us to find this one, and we're very glad we did! A beautiful, peaceful location with lovely grounds for the kids (and dog) to play in, and great local walks (there are so many useful guides/maps in the property). The hot tub is such a bonus, and the sheltered veranda allowed us to stay outside even though the weather wasn't amazing. We appreciated the fresh bread/cake/eggs/milk; the cake did not last long 😂. Local village has great pubs, and it's just a short drive to Kirkby Stephen for everything else. Tebay services also convenient for fast charging the EV and a bit of breakfast/shopping. We only had three days, but I'm sure we'll be back again. Thanks for a lovely break ☺️

We had a lovely few days at Jean's Airbnb. Relaxing, quiet, and great walks on your doorstep. Jean was very kind, always responded quickly to any queries, and was helpful throughout our entire stay. We utilised the information there and used the local cafés and pubs as part of our walks and thankfully, had brilliant weather! Many thanks for having us, David & Katie

Sarah was warm, friendly and made us feel welcome. We had warm muffins and cups of tea on arrival and also when we returned from our outings the following day. Our room on the ground floor was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. Breakfast was served in a lovely dining room, the breakfast menu was extensive and the food was cooked and served by Sarah. We highly recommend Claremont House and will definitely be staying there again, when we are next in the UK.

Incroyable surprise que celle ci! Le château est magnifique, l’atmosphère est irrésistible et mystérieuse. On se croirait dans un film. De plus, je n’ai jamais aussi bien dormi qu’entre les murs de cette vieille demeure (le lit est magique, la bouillotte aussi). PS : aucun fantôme n’est venu perturber mon sommeil (ce qui demeure la seule chose regrettable de ce séjour fantastique)

Helen's place was in a great location, very clean and cozy, and possibly the best bed I've slept in in 3 weeks! Would absolutely stay again.

This place was a fabulous find, so close to the centre of beautiful Hawkshead and everything the village has to offer. Thank you Jane for letting me into the property earlier than check in time....it meant I was able to get to a wedding on time without having to get ready in a public loo 😂 very greatful for that and especially greatful to your fabulous cleaning team who worked even harder to make that happen for me. The breakfast looked as though it would have been lovely, but the bed was so comfy that we slept right through the delivery 😂 Truly wish I'd booked another night and would definitely stay again.
