We were looking for a quiet getaway and this is exactly what we needed. Very private and beautiful views of the black river. House was beautiful and well equipped with whatever you needed.

The cabin was very welcoming and comfortable. The host were very responsive and quick to attend to any need. Would definitely stay again.

This cabin is definitely in my top 5 of all time cabins. We typically rent 5-10 cabins a year and this one is rated a 10 . Perfectly small for a romantic getaway with every amenity you would need . They thought of everything . We really enjoyed the stay and will be back when it gets a little hotter so we can enjoy the beach.

We went there for our anniversary and had the best time! The view was incredible and we were able to enjoy nature in comfort. The hot tub was everything!

The weekend we went had more rain then they had ever had, causing roads to be flood or washed out and closed from the flash floods- all which was beyond their control. While on the road leading to the cabin, we came to spot that appeared to be washed out and were hesitant to continue forward. We then saw headlights coming down the drive and was greeted by a nice young man who helped us to continue to the cabin. The electric was also out (again not their fault) due to the storm and we were provided with extra flash lights and water. Any concerns we had were quickly responded to and the cabin was beautiful, clean and just perfect. The electric came back on the following afternoon and although the main road out was closed (flash flooding) it was reopened by check out, again all of this beyond their control. I would absolutely recommend this place for a quiet romantic getaway or a family vacation. They have cabins and other housing of all size to accommodate everyone

Was a great little cabin to unwind in after a long day kayaking the river. Steve and Tiffany were very responsive. The hot tub was great to relax in at the end of the day and the top deck great to catch up on. The cabin itself is pretty minimal but was great for what we needed.

Cold air!!! Comfortable bedding and washer and dryer a plus! Great activities for kids , lots to do!

Host was very responsive and helpful! Cabin was beautiful and just what we wanted! If you want something peaceful with a beautiful scenery this is the place. Beds were AMAZING, water pressure was the best, super clean, very private. Back porch was nice to sit on in the morning a drink coffee. The kids absolutely loved the place. All the amenities worked perfect as well! The host gave very clear directions to the cabin. Super easy to follow. Following the gravel I loved looking at the cows and we seen an albino deer running through the pasture. It was beautiful!! Will define back!

Quiet and peaceful area. Great for a weekend getaway.

Loved our little getaway to the woods, what a great place to disconnect from the busyness of life in a city.

The place was fantastic! We had a blast and Donna was super helpful and easy to work with! We will be staying again!

If you are seeking peace and a quiet surroundings, this is the place to stay. There are lakes and lots of areas to hike. The kitchen is stocked with the equipment for some serious cooking and there is a grill and a firepit outside. The internet service is fast, the cable service has plenty to watch and the cabin is stocked with board games. If you are looking for lots of restaurants and high end grocery stores, this is probably not the best area for you.

Ended up staying at the Clint Eastwood instead of the Merle. Good location near parks which we wanted. Super quiet. Fun place to eat in pilot’s knob and Lesterville.

Location was great Michael was very nice and responded asap to any questions that I had . Looking forward to next year . .

Beautiful lodge type setting. Layout was very conducive to hosting a large group (we were 11) and we didn't feel even close to being cramped. Great kitchen that was more than adequate for large group cooking. Pond with fishing was great fun for the kids along with the paddle boat, property is peaceful and well maintained. The lodge's decoration of animal taxidermy and natural wood is beautiful. We had several hunters in the group who all liked many of wall mounts. Three full modern baths meant waiting for a shower was kept to a minimum. Would definitely rent it again.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Desperado ranch, loved it so much that I extended my stay! Very private & peaceful with a lot of beautiful views & trails in the area. The horses are amazing and the dogs are super sweet. Lisa is great! very welcoming, helpful, responsive & made sure everything was ok. I got my car stuck in a creek but Lisa and her team immediately came to the rescue & we had a good laugh about it! I highly recommend this place & I will definitely be coming back during the summer!

This quiet cabin getaway was just what I was looking for. The home was just like the pictures, and Sean was very responsive whenever we had any questions. It was nice to get a chance to meet him on the last day of our stay and learn a bit more about the cabin and it's history. I could definitely see myself staying here again in the future!
