We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Abbots Moss. It was last minute (same day booking) and everything was ready and in order. The house was definitely a home away from home which is exactly what I am looking for. We have two children and a very well behaved golden - all loved the location and the house. The grounds and lake are exquisite and so peaceful. The lounge area was beautifully decorated with sofas I would purchase for my own home. Linens are also something I look for and the beds were all lovely. We enjoyed the area, eating out at some local recommendations, visiting Hadrian's Wall, completing our first family Wainwright summit! Thank you Tamar. We would love to return!

Always wanted to stay here and it did not disappoint. Beautiful house in a stunning setting. The house was spotless inside and had everything you would need for a luxury stay. Great amenities including a stash of dvds if you didn’t want to watch tv. The views are amazing and it’s so peaceful. Very easily accessible with clear instructions from the host. We went for our 13th wedding anniversary and loved the place.

I would agree with previous comments. The property is gorgeous and in pristine condition with waterside access where we could launch our kayak and paddle boards. These as well as bicycles are also available to hire close by. All amenities are within walking distance and the nearby ferry provides access to the western shore of Lake Windermere. There is a lovely out and back path along the edge of the lake ideal for runners as well as several circular walks. All in all a we had a fantastic active family holiday but you can equally spend time on the balcony watching the world go by. Helen’s welcome pack is exceptional providing you with essentials to start your holiday. The fresh flowers were a lovely touch. I would love to come back one day. Thanks.

Amazing place to stay in the Lake District. A group of friends and I stayed here for 4 nights whilst we were exploring the Lake District and it was the perfect place to stay for what we needed. Great location with amazing views over Morecambe bay and plenty of things to do. The property was immaculate and very spacious. Cleanliness was not an issue. Our host was also very easy to contact and communicate with. I would most definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the Lake District. We had a fantastic stay at Hawkhow Cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and the sauna and plunge pool was great (thanks, Tony!). Seeing the red squirrels outside and catching glimpses of the jets over the lake was an unexpected treat! We will be back!

We had a lovely 2 night break here and from the minute we turned up and opened the door we fell in love with the cottage. Everything was perfect and just as described, we spent time in the garden just admiring the view and watching the world go by. Nice restaurants all within walking distance so no need to get the car out looking for somewhere to eat. Gareth is a great host and responds very quickly. We will definitely return one day soon as there were places we still want to visit. The weather was an added bonus as it was absolutely glorious. Thank you Gareth for allowing us and our dogs in your beautiful home.

I took my business guests from middle east, we stay 2 days they were impressed by the place and surroundings, I recommend this place it's very nice and peaceful.

Lovely place to stay! We enjoyed our stay here. The house was huge and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the hot tub and the pool table and darts board. The sauna is also an amazing addition. Would recommend. ☺️

A family weekend away well spent. Although cold on arrival, clear instruction were left regarding the heating and we soon warmed up and it was very cosy! A great location, beautiful views and comfy beds. Some of us had a walk along the beck, through public paths/fells and through edward woods. It was comfortable, spacious and the dressing gowns were a real bonus for all of us! Close to Cockermouth and Workington, both lovely towns. We would definately visit again. 😊

Our family view is that this particular holiday accommodation and its location were pretty much perfect. The interior of the house has been beautifully designed to create a really inviting, relaxing living space across all the rooms - kitchen, lounge, bathrooms and bedrooms. The furnishings and fittings installed were of a very high quality. Likewise the garden/decking areas offer lovely views of the lake and ideal outdoor dining/sunbathing spots. It’s also worth mentioning that we made good use of the specially curated list of walking and dining recommendations left for us by the hosts, and were thoroughly impressed by those we tried - particularly Homeground Coffee for breakfast and baked goods (yum!) and Gilpin Spice for a wonderful dining experience. All in, this was a highly enjoyable holiday trekking in and around Lake Windermere, then heading back ‘home’ to the serene environment of Berkeley House. Highly recommend!

Sandown House made our summer visit to the Lake District enjoyable. Space for our immediate family and extended family and friends. We nicknamed it the upside down house because the bedrooms are on the ground floor and the kitchen and living rooms on the top floor. Plenty of parking, walking distance to all that Bowness-on-Windermere has to offer. We think the on suite bathrooms are tiny, but we are tall people (6’and 6’4”) other than that plenty of space to stretch out. Lovely welcome hamper upon our arrival added a nice touch from the owners.

Fabulous lodge, beautifully decorated for Christmas with a lovely festive welcome pack waiting for us on arrival. The beds were comfy and a good size unlike other lodges we've stayed in. Peaceful site which is close to plenty of restaurants and other amenities. Good communication from the host. We had a perfect family Christmas staying here and enjoyed it so much, we've already booked another stay.

Our favourite place to stay in the lakes, it has everything we need - cosy cottage and gorgeous area. Hosts are always so helpful and accommodating. We can’t wait to come back, thank you for another lovely holiday.

The Grassmore House is beautiful and just like the pictures. It was clean, cozy, and in the perfect location. It was quiet but a quick walk to town. Justin was so helpful the whole time we were there. He gave the best recommendations, helped us with trails and hikes, and even lent us his detailed map. We couldn't have asked for a better host!

Lovely house, plenty of space and well equipped. Really handy having space to park two cars. Would definitely return.

Lovely traditional house in upgraded condition, plenty of bedroom space for big kids, parking looks busy but was always fine, near Fitz Park and an easy few blocks from the town centre - the perfect base for our family and we had a great few days here - thanks!

A beautiful cottage and garden terrace with wonderful views of Windermere. With just a few minutes walk into the heart of Bowness and lovely shops, restaurants and the lake near at hand. The cottage is very comfortable, well equipped and so peaceful.

The accomodation was clean and tidy and very spacious. Beds were lovely and comfortable. It had all the amenties you would want including a washer and dishwasher and a lovely added touch was the complimentary washing up pack which also included dish washer tablets. Would highly recommend and woukd definately book again
