Absolutely excellent! Wish I could give John and Honeymug six stars. The cottage was a true home-from-home. It was comfy, cosy, well-equipped and just perfect for a family getaway. The host really had thought of everything from local walk guides, books, DVDs, towels for the dog … everything! I could’ve stayed for weeks. The holiday cottage site was an amazing bonus. We were expecting a pool and a gym, however these has recently been renovated to include an outside hot tub, sauna, steam room and excellent luxe facilities. An amazing added bonus. I didn’t want to leave! My teenager loved the gym while his younger siblings enjoyed the games room with pool table. We were pleasantly surprised to find a restaurant on site too. We had an issue with the DVD player not working and John came the next day to replace it. Awesome host. Beautiful location. Fantastic base to explore Northumberland and everything it has to offer. Highly recommend!

Had a lovely long weekend at Gatecroft Barn. The cottage was beautiful and had everything we needed. Kathryn left a delicious cake for us and a doggy basket with treats, balls and blankets for the dogs 😊 The location was beautiful. Perfect location if you want to spend your days out walking and relaxing in the hot tub in the evenings. Thanks again Kathryn.

I absolutely loved our stay at Barnacre Alpacas, we stayed in the rose cottage, it was very clean and the hot tub was a bonus. We enjoyed the alpaca walk and talk, that was something I’ll never forget! On arrival the cottage was dressed up for a birthday surprise and champagne and chocolates was left for us. Thank you to Paul and Debbie, we will be back!

Beautiful home, very spacious and plenty of amenities. felt right at home! perfect for toddlers too. Ian was great, very helpful and easily contactable.

We had a lovely few nights at this Air B&B. The food and drink supplied was a lovely bonus as we had driven from Glasgow and hadn’t brought any food! Great location 5 mins drive to tynemouth beach or under 10 to whitely bay. Lovely vibe in both places. The cottage had everything we needed - my 15 year old twins loved having their own “mini house” out the back (thanks they now want one in our garden at home 🤣!). Hot tub was lovely and huge! Although it did take a while to heat up, it did retain its heat well so the first night it took about 4 hour a to heat, after that a quick blast for 20-30 minutes and it was lovely temperature. Just was really helpful with clear instructions on check in and advising of local eating places. All in all a lovely stay! Thanks!

Excellent hosts home made cake lovely welcome pack was very nice touch even put candles on the cake and decorated for my birthday very helpful with local places to visit and eat rose barn was immaculate we felt right at home don’t essitate to book it’s stunning stay thankyou again

Myself and 3 friends stayed for one night and it was absolutely perfect. It is in a lovely secluded area but close enough to the local village where there is a pub. The barn was exactly as described, very clean, very welcoming and lovely and peaceful. It felt like home away from home. The hot tub was lovely and warm upon arrival and Dean was kind enough to let us check in early. I cannot fault anything about Deans barn and we have already decided that we'll be back next year for our annual girls trip. Thank you very much for a lovely stay

Beautiful location for a quiet weekend break. Mary-Anne shared very informative videos and messaged us with useful information during our stay. The cottage was very clean and the hot tub a delight. I would definitely return.

Our stay at Pennys cottage was fabulous, so comfortable and homely, everything we could have wished for, close to harbour and beach, would definitely recommend and hopefully we will stay there again

The Hemmel was a really nice cottage to stay in. It's probably one of the best airbnb's we've been to. Kate was very nice and helpful. The photos don't do it justice as it's even better in the flesh. We were a family of 4 including a baby and it was super comfortable. The cottage is very private and peaceful. The lambs were out when we were there and we saw the red squirrel in garden each day. We'd would definitely return.

A great place to stay for exploring Warkworth and the surrounding area. Loads of space and a well-equipped kitchen if you're self-catering. Would recommend!

Lovely cottage in ideal location with walking distance to the beach. Very clean and tastefully decorated. Kitchen was very well equipped. Extremely comfortable bed so that was a bonus. Nick is a great host and responds quickly. I will definitely be back when I'm next on the area.

This is a beautiful cottage with everything you need for a relaxing stay. It’s in a great location to explore Northumberland but very quiet & private. We self catered but there were plenty of places to eat out in walking distance if you want. We self catered and every piece of equipment you need is in the kitchen, including an air fryer. Our only disappointment was not getting to use the log burner as it wasn’t cold enough !!

I had a truly lovely stay with Chester 🐶. The cottage is set right at the foot of Gowbarrow Fell, making it the perfect base for a peaceful getaway. There are so many beautiful walks straight from the doorstep, so we didn’t need to get in the car at all all weekend – just put our walking shoes on and go. The cottage itself is charming and cosy, equipped with everything you could possibly need – a real home from home. It’s clear a lot of thought has gone into making it comfortable and welcoming. Chester loved it just as much as I did! I’m already looking forward to coming back.

What can I say... Absolutely fantastic place. You couldn't ask for anything more. Really peaceful location with fantastic views of the hills etc. We had a strange issue but this was sorted out very swiftly by Malcolm 👍 We will definitely be looking to book again and have another peaceful time just watching the world go by. We had an unbelievable experience at Nicola's, the area has some of the best panoramic views in the country and you can sit out the front door there as though you are just hanging there right in the middle of it. Nicola knows the local area very well. We were actually making a film in the area and she was as helpful as to show us around and give us her insights, she's very switched on and very easy to deal with aswell, no confusion, no delays, so just a smooth and pleasant experience all round. I will hopefully be bringing back my wife to stay there at some point in the future, and I've never stayed in the same air BnB more than once so that says something....

Lovely, clean and inviting palace to stay. We only stayed for a night but it could definitely be a place where you could base your self for a full holiday.

We would definitely recommend to stay here! This cosy cottage is the perfect place for some peace. The log burner is well equipped and very warm. James was a great host and made us feel very welcome. He was attentive, happy to help and share advice/ recommendations on the local area which had plenty of walks, places to eat etc. If the sky is clear you will be in for a treat with the sky! 🌌

This place truly matched it‘s description of „magical,“ and is perhaps the best place we‘ve stayed, a real home away from home. Susan and Jim were amazing hosts—welcoming, warm, and friendly. We loved climbing uphill to visit their friendly herd of sheep (we spent the better part of an evening watching the sunset with fluffy critters), as well relaxing mornings and evenings inside the cottage, simply enjoying the natural beauty of the stones and the very cozy setting. Although a stay at the cottage would be perfectly complete in and of itself, it also serves as a perfect base for exploring the local nearby sites in Northumberland (Hadrian‘s Wall, Carlisle, Hexham, Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, etc). I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thanks again Susan and Jim!

A lovely cottage in a stunning secluded location, perfect for relaxing in the countryside. Rachel had many recommendations which we made use of for lovely walks and delicious food at local pubs. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at The Vault! It was cosy, clean, and had everything we needed. Fantastic location too being only a 10 minute walk in to the centre of town. Alex was very responsive too if I had any questions! Would definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting Hexham/the surrounding areas :)

If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, this is the perfect place. Aimee was extremely responsive and helpful when needed and also left us to enjoy our stay in peace. The photos of the cottage don’t do it justice. It’s a beautiful place with an amazing outlook over fields and we felt right at home on arrival with thoughtful touches and clean cozy spaces. We were walking distance to the local village with a lovely bakery and only a 15 minute drive to the beautiful National Trust Cragside. Around a 25 minute drive to beautiful local beaches and so much more to explore if we had more time! A few personal notes:- WiFi was great for our autistic son and his PlayStation. We could tell he felt very relaxed at the cottage. I was ill for part of our stay so we didn’t explore as much as we wanted but because the cottage was so comfortable (beds especially) we didn’t feel like we missed out at all. A beautiful place with lovely owners and friendly locals - we will be back! Thank you

A nice cottage located in beautiful rolling hills, primarily overlooking the West Northumberland scenery. Photos look just like the property and the location is really good, far enough away from any towns yet close enough to Haydon Bridge and Hexham to go for supplies or a restaurant if needed. Awesome views. Cottage was comfortable, bed and pillows are quite soft though. Bathroom was good, nice large shower, well catered for with soaps and shampoos etc. Kitchen was spacious and had everything you needed, besides maybe a few more glass dishes for cooking with. Easily accessible from the road, just down a short driveway to a dedicated gravel car parking spot for 2 cars. Please note that there is a similar holiday cottage right next door, something the photos do not show, so be prepared to share the car park with neighbours and that both the front porches / verandas can somewhat overlook one another to the side and you can hear conversations. All in all a nice stay, would recommend.

This is a great place. We could’ve done with longer - struck gold with the weather so didn’t use the leisure facilities as much as we might have. Really well placed for visiting Keswick and Penrith. Whinlatter Forest took us about 30 mins to get to - great for walks, bikes, cafe.
