We had a fantastic stay at the cabin whilst on a weekend getaway. Stella kindly left clear instructions of how to get to the cabin, left a heater on for us so we were cosy from the get go on the arrival which was fantastic after a cold windy February day exploring the local sites! The cabin was extremely comfortable and cosy, we loved the privacy and were able to ‘switch off’ from our busy daily lives - a perfect break which allowed us to relax and enjoy ourselves. The cabin was also in great proximity to a variety of locations - we managed to explore Carlisle, Hadrian’s Wall and the Gretna Green outlet whilst staying at Stella’s cabin. Thank you Stella and would highly recommend our stay to others!

Really lovely spot. I went with my two kids and the space was great. We built a fire and kicked a ball about. Because we are guests we could play in the playground till late which was great! Will be back for another small getaway.

I really enjoyed my week in the hut. It was a lovely space for just myself. Andrew and his family are extremely welcoming and very friendly. This was my fifth stay at their farm and I am very happy there. My first stay in the hut and I would definitely consider booking it again. Thank you all for making me feel so welcome again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ben's Hut! We loved the accommodation; it was cosy, comfortable and completely unique - and the landscape and views were wonderful. A really memorable stay!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Sauna, bath, outdoor cooking and plenty of walks from the door in native woodland, which was full of spring wildflowers. Plenty of other walks a short drive away. Lovely.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the owner who was lambing. We were shown lambs that were 15 minutes old! Very friendly owners who are clearly passionate about what they do. The shepherds hut was very clean throughout and very cosy with the underfloor heating. The little personal touches throughout really made the place feel homely. We walked into town which didn't take long and found a great selection of pubs and food available, as advertised. Attached to the side of the hut their was a little sheltered area with the wood burning stove and BBQ. Even in a cold wind, this area was toasty with the burner on. Even if the weather turned, you'd be fine having a BBQ outside here. All in all, a brilliant little place that we will be returning to

We had the most gorgeous stay at the hut! From the moment we arrived Victoria was a wonderful and friendly host, she shows us to the accommodation and made sure that we felt settled and happy! The hut was so cosy but bigger than we expected, and very spacious! It was clean and pristine from top to bottom and the bed was super duper comfy! We really appreciated the snacks, drinks and treats left for us to enjoy! The hut felt very private and the gardens that it’s located in were beautiful. It’s a short walk to town and we adored our stay here, and will definitely be returning! Thank you so much Victoria 🥰

Great place to stay. Comfortable, cosy and clean. Gillian was a very friendly host and cooked us a great breakfast. Cooking in the hut is limited to a microwave so be prepared.

Brilliant stay. 2nd visiting, will be back many more times.

Lovely place to stay for me and the dogs. Enclosed garden was ideal for them.

Derek and Kath are wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome even before we arrived. Ruby's hut is an absolute gem - its clean, spacious and in a stunning location with lovely views. It has everything you need for your stay, with good WiFi and large TV with the usual streaming services. We particularly liked the BBQ hut which is ideal in all weather conditions and makes for a cosy place to eat and chill in addition to the main hut. The surroundings are fantastic with plenty of walks in all directions. Derek is a gent and an exemplary host who is responsive to any needs but also respects guests privacy - the ideal balance. The hot tub / jacuzzi was great and we also had a fire pit and gas BBQ, so everything you need. Overall we had an exceptional stay and it's only a matter of time before we visit again. This was a fantastic stay, with lovely peaceful scenery, a private garden and hot tub and a firepit / BBQ We cancelled our meal out to cook at the cottage and enjoy the views and serenity. The photos don't quite do it justice! it's even nicer than we expected. A great stay in a great location, no faffing getting there it was all very straightforward. Definitely recommend!

We have just returned from a trip to Ashley's shepherd's hut and it couldn't have been more perfect. The location was stunning, beautiful views across the valley and the facilities were excellent. We were greeted by Ashley on arrival and he was helpful throughout our stay. A very friendly and welcoming host. We will definitely return.

We had the best time, I even proposed to my partner at the top of criffell (she said yes!) and was so happy to have booked this place to celebrate such a special occasion. The sauna in particular is brilliant! Thanks Daniel!

We had a great time! The shepherd's hut was beautiful, cosy and warm even in January. The wood fired hot tub was easy to light ourselves and Jane made sure we always had enough fire wood. Jane was easy to contact, during booking and throughout our stay, and went above and beyond to make our trip special. Would definitely recommend!

We had a lovely stay in the Shepherd’s Hut. It’s in such a nice area with lots to do around in only a short drive. We only stayed for one night but we would have loved to stay longer so we would definitely go back! Thank you :)

Alice and Paul were so helpful and kind , we had beautiful fresh eggs and other goodies when we arrived , the shepards hut is private and sits right next to a beautiful forrest and river , peaceful and cosy , we had the burner on and it held the heat all night and into the morning , super clean and modern , we heard vixen , owls, deer and lots of wildlife , we had snow too ! Alice was warm and welcoming and her place is stunning, highly recommend! We are booked in for further visits , we cant wait to be there again soaking in the different seasons , we felt very looked after, the bed is sooo comfortable too , thankyou to our amazing hosts xxxxxx

What a good surprise this place was :) if you're looking for privacy and peaceful surroundings, this is the place to go! Joanne is an incredible host and the hut had everything we needed, and everything to the detail. Please try the breakfast basket, it's a must have! 😜 Thank you so much ☺️

We had an amazing stay here and definitely hope to return again! The host was very responsive to any queries both before and during my stay. They kindly messaed to let us know that the accompanying was ready, should we wish to arrive any earlier (12pm rather than 3pm). We had a warm welcome from Steve and 3 friendly dogs on arrival. The hut is tucked away, surrounded by a lot of wildlife (robins, woodpeckers, rabbits, etc). The bathroom facilities are a little walk away, but they are very comfortable and clean. The shower was nice and hot. We made use of the logburner, which warmed the hut up in no time. Great location, quick walk into Windermere or up to beautiful Orrest Head. Dont hesitate to stay here if you need an escape!
