Over the years my family has stayed a many houses across the globe and we can say without a doubt this is one of our absolute favorites. This is our second stay and I can not say enough good things about the house, it’s amazing location and views as well as the amazing hosts. My family absolutely loves this property.

Absolutely amazing to be right on the water, watching the tide come in & go out, seeing boats & yachts passing by. Peaceful, bushy surrounds blissfully listening to bird life. Clean & comfortable furnishings, & has everything needed (& more) in the kitchen & other living areas both inside & out. Peter & Raisa were communicative, helpful, responsive & lovely hosts. It was great to get out & explore the island with lots of hidden gems, fishing spots, & friendly locals. Catching mud crabs was a bonus with the supplied crab pots. Yum! Great house & location, would definitely stay again & recommend to others.

Fantastic one bedroom flat at back of house. Loving quiet back yard. Across the road from lovely park and waterfront. Easy commute by train From Cleveland to Brisbane. Cannot fault and Emily is a lovely lady.

Wonderful beach house in a great location. Very comfortable and family friendly. Re-ignited our love for Straddie.

Fantastic location with sandy beach right in front, very friendly hosts and clean place. Boat ramp next door and public swimming area provides entertainment and other people/kids for our kids to interact with. We anchored our boat right out the front and could easily keep an eye on it which was a big plus for us, not that there was any issue in the calm waters during our stay. Friendly neighbours also deserve a mention making you feel at home. Would love to stay here again in the future and may make it a regular holiday destination. Thank you Sue and Peter.

Wonderful house for an island stay. Separate kids area downstairs was great and we loved hanging outside on the deck.

This house is terrific for a large group and the pool was a delight when we have three littlies under two and two toddlers - it saved going to the beach more than once each day. So we all swam and were able to rest each afternoon! The size of the house allows for separation and space for each group/family/couple. Kitchen was very well equipped and the bathrooms were lovely and functional. The only (and I mean only) annoyance was the gas bottle for the BBQ was empty and we didn't realise until 6 pm - right after the general store that fills them up was closed. All was well the next day however. Will definitely visit for our annual family week together, and next year those littlies will be running around the wonderful (and fenced) yard!

If you are looking for a place to stay in Brisbane, you would struggle to find a something better than Russell’s place. It was clean, comfortable and had everything you would need for a short or long stay. The pool was also a nice bonus. Russell and Lisa were great hosts, very responsive and helpful.

Lisa is an excellent host, and would recommend her and this property to other Guests. The property itself would happily support the 12 Guests advertised with a number of living/entertainment areas together with Pool Table and Swimming Pool.

My family (2 adults, 2 young children) recently holidayed here for 5 nights during the school holidays. The home was interesting architecturally and we enjoyed a relaxing stay, nestled among the trees with plenty of birdsong, kangaroos and insects buzzing. While the home was comfortable and had what we needed, potential guests should be aware of several unusual characteristics: the house is only accessible via a steep set of stairs that has no handrails, the bathroom and toilet facilities are in a separate pavilion to the main house (which can make nighttime toileting more challenging), two of the bedrooms have no windows but unscreened sliding doors that cannot be secured once opened, most of the door/window frames have material gaps that admit insects and drafts. It rained during our stay (in September) and the house (which has no insulation) became quite cold. There are blankets and a heater provided. Shoes are not allowed inside. No tv, but plenty of books and games.

We had an amazing stay at Andrea’s place! The view was absolutely stunning, even better than the photos. The house was well-equipped with everything we needed, and we had a fantastic time kayaking and swimming. Though getting there took about an hour by ferry (Redland to Russell if you have car), it was totally worth it for the beauty and peace. The sunrise was magical, and the whole atmosphere felt like paradise. Andrea was responsive, and the place was spotless. We’ll definitely be back!

The house was so lovely and the views were amazing. With a balcony upstairs and one downstairs we could always see the water. The rooms were a great size. The entire house felt so comfortable. If you were looking at somewhere to stay on Russell Island, this would be amazing. So relaxing! Thankyou Patsy! Regards Harry and Julie

Jessica welcomed my children and I when we had to find emergency accommodation after the Christmas night tornado on the Gold Coast and lost half our home. We immediately felt so welcomed and so at home. From the beautiful care hamper Jessica left for us, to the messages from Jessica of support and well wishes. Her home is perfectly positioned in lovely Margate. It is extremely clean, has everything you need, and even welcomed our fur baby. Jessica is so lovely and warm and ensured we felt at home. The kids loved the cubby house and even our doggo went down the slide a couple of times. We spent nearly three weeks at Jessica’s home and never felt like we were over staying our welcome. Thank you for everything Jessica. You are amazing and your home is very special.
