While there were absolutely a few things that could be done to this property to ensure client satisfaction and longevity of a property so historic (old), such as a better microwave, a tv that actually works right, and a new shower head that doesn’t spew water all over their floors regardless of the shower curtain; this property was an absolute amazing homebase for my week in dekalb. For the price, it’s absolutely everything it needs to be with a great location and I wouldn’t mind staying here again in the future. The only thing I wish to point out for future stayers that isn’t in the description that should be is the staircase that is so steep and old that it could be an issue for anyone with mobility issues being the only accessible restroom is in the top floor. You get used to it, especially with the price, but it’s a bit terrifying at first.

I had a wonderful stay at Gwen’s. I needed a a place to stay near the university and I couldn’t hope for a better place.

This is one of the nicest places we've ever rented, considering our needs and preferences. We prefer cooking to eating out. This tiny kitchen was among the best I've used. The essential utensils, appliances, and cooking and cleaning supplies provided were much more complete than those provided by most rentals. The cleanliness and ventilation were excellent. All of this shows the hosts' thoughtful attention to detail and the things a traveler who likes to cook may need. The main level living space provides a very cozy place to meet, eat, and enjoy the easy-to-use fireplace. The bedrooms and bathroom are all top-notch. Again, just very thoughtful and good choices by hosts who have thought this through very well.

The host was quick to respond, the house was clean and well represented in the listing. It was perfect for our overnight stay.

I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone! The host and his family are all very friendly and accommodating! The house is kept very clean and is in very nice condition. I felt right at home! I would definitely come here again!

Audra was very responsive and the area this house is in is awesome. Walking distance to cute restaurants and a coffee shop right across the street. Up and around the corner is an local bakery called Elleson's, the cinnamon rolls are awesome!

My son and I had a wonderful stay at this lovely two-bedroom apartment! It was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. We ended up arriving earlier than we initially thought and Merita was incredibly responsive. We were able to check in early and she made the check-in process seamless. The location was great, and the apartment felt welcoming and homey. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hassle-free stay!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming Airbnb, which holds a special place in my heart. As a child, I walked by this apartment building daily, so it was a delightful surprise to find it transformed into a welcoming rental. The location is fantastic! It’s just a short walk to the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival and other local hometown events, making it easy to immerse yourself in the community spirit. The area felt very safe, allowing for leisurely strolls at any time. The apartment itself had everything needed for a comfortable stay. While it is cozy and well-equipped, it does have a slightly dated charm that adds to its character. I truly enjoyed my time here and would definitely stay again in the future. Was a great experience, a nice and relaxing space for a nice downtown experience in Dekalb. It’s got a few bars and things to do around, you’ll find something great while you’re there.
