28gates farm gives fabulous and absolute real TAS farm experience. This feeling is what I was looking for through traveling Tasmania while getting out of the crowded modern city. Susie gave us very warm welcome, and introduced the farm in detail. The complimentary foods are very good. I highly recommend this farm staying.

What a fabulous farm stay! This eco-retreat is a great experience for families. We were welcomed by Grant and given great advice about what to do around the area- Mt Field National Park was all we needed for adventure as the property also provided us with beautiful short walks, spectacular views and a peaceful stay. There were many homely activities to do but we didn’t get to experience it all. The produce in the garden is amazing, particularly the berries for our January stay and we’re thankful it’s shared for guests. The wholistic living was complimented by wildlife and a nicely decorated cottage stay.

We had such a cosy comfortable stay at Grant and Marieke’s cottage. Grant was super friendly, greeted us on arrival and gave some great advice on things to do not only around the property, but around the national park and surrounds. We had a couple of fresh eggs in a basket and some yummy treats as well. Grant had the cottage heating nicely when we arrived as well. We would definitely stay again!

Jenny’s place is ideal for any type of getaway and family. It fitted the bill for us and is exactly as marketed or better. Beautiful old trees on the property. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay at this beautifully renovated shed. It’s such a great location for exploring Huonville. We would highly recommend a stay here, we’d definitely love to return!!

Sassafras Springs is a slice of heaven on earth. Beautiful views, remote ish, forested trails, garden, black cockatoos. Grant provided exceptional communications from start to finish. Looking forward to returning!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming house! The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the antique furniture added a unique touch to the cozy atmosphere. Chris and Kaye were welcoming and friendly. Their friendly dog Lucy and cat Stella were delightful companions. Highly recommend this lovely retreat!

This place is extraordinary! We absolutely loved our time here. The home and surroundings are peaceful and beautiful with many extra touches. We had pademelons peaking into our slide glass door in the morning and were able to see their resident platypus in the river late afternoon. The hosts are friendly, responsive and welcoming. We regretted not ordering dinner from them in advance. Great base for exploring the south and hiking Hartz Peak. Highly recommend.

My partner and I had an incredible stay at Clare and Justin’s Hopkins Homestead Farm Stay Studio. The space was spotless, well-equipped, and even better than described. Their attention to detail made it feel like a true home away from home—especially while traveling with our dogs. The location was perfect, just off Nicholls Rivulet Road, offering easy access and a peaceful retreat. Check-in was seamless, and Clare and Justin were fantastic hosts, providing prompt and helpful communication. One of the highlights was the stunning valley views, abundant birdlife, and thoughtful amenities. The fully fenced, dog-friendly setup was a huge bonus, allowing us to relax and enjoy our stay. It’s clear that Clare and Justin go above and beyond to create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for their guests. We’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Hopkins Homestead Farm Stay Studio to anyone visiting the area!

Awesome place, very close to good food and national park. Beautiful spot with lots of wildlife and a beautiful garden. One of our favourite places in Tassie.

What a magical , welcoming and friendly place for our whole family (12 of us) to spend some precious time together. An hour from the airport located in the beautiful Huon Valley this is a unique property. Made in Finland an eco friendly property that is very well insulated. It has a great slow combustion fire but certainly not needed while we were there - although marshmallows cooked in the terracotta chiminea outside was a great hit. This has been built for the owners and their family and we were privileged to live in it for a few happy days. Beautifully set up and equipped throughout - the puzzles and books were greatly appreciated by our family. Everything was there in abundance in the kitchen living bath and bedrooms for all ages. The views are gorgeous . A very special time - thank you! Absolutely highly recommended.

Thank you Gil and June, the cottage was a wonderful relaxing retreat for us for our 25th wedding anniversary. The cottage itself is beautiful, clean, spacious and warm. It was fantastic to see all the birds, rabbits and pademelons wandering the grounds and even the resident platypus in the pond/billabong. We will definitely be back!
