Words will never do this place justice. Both the lodge itself and the surroundings are stunningly beautiful. The pictures give a slight impression, but the place must be experienced to really understand the beauty of this place. The cabins are placed up on a hill with an amazing view over the jungle and the ocean. Macaws are flying over you all day. Coatis, tapirs, agutis and monkeys cross the grounds and nature trails are plentiful. We did a trek into Corcovado through la Leona gateway which was well worth it. Way less crowded than la Sirena and the scenery is incredible. I also took some yoga classes while I was there. The yoga itself was great and the cherry on the top was 8 macaws settling into a tree right in front of the yoga platform during class. We were also really pampered with delicious food and smoothies. We got there by cab which took something like 1 h 45 m each way. On the way there the driver spotted loads of animals for us. I’m so grateful for the whole experience.

Nous avons passé une très belle semaine dans cette maisonnette très bien équipée, neuve et à deux pas de la plage. La literie est de qualité, la maison était très propre. Nous avons apprécié l'eau extérieure pour se rincer après la baignade. La cuisine extérieure est très agréable et nous avions tous les jours la visite des aras rouges et des perroquets. Nous avons même pu apercevoir de nombreuses tortues proche du bord de plage. C'est un endroit très paisible où l'accès en voiture se fait sur une route non goudronnée et accidentée mais plate. Cela fait partie du charme de ce lieu. Le supermarché le plus proche est à 3 km environ.

The house is so beautiful! Loved the view and the open concept that makes you feel like you are part of the nature. This was our second stay at the house and we had an amazing time. Kim & Phil are great hosts and very kind. Also their resort up on the mountain Bosque del Cabo is amazing and dinner was fabulous there! The staff was incredibly attentive and takes great care of your your family. Lorena the caretaker of the home was very responsive and kind. Thank you all for a great stay in paradise ! Can’t wait to be back! Pura Vida ❤️🌸

Lapalandia was wonderful!! Just wish we had stayed more nights. It has a huge upstairs balcony with comfy seating and a large outdoor seating area with hammocks looking out over a lush tropical garden, and all things you need in the kitchen, bathroom, and living areas. Two things to be aware of are that the sleeping area is up a spiral staircase and all three beds are in the same room. So if you have to go to the bathroom at night you have to walk downstairs to the bathroom. Totally fine for us, but just in case you don't notice that in the photos! It was great being able to walk down a short path directly to Matapalo beach & King Louis Waterfall. It was also a short walk or drive to Backwash and Pan dulce. We enjoyed some excellent meals at Martina's, Encanta La Vida, Lapa Rios, and Bosque Del Cabo nearby. Highly recommend the hike up to the waterfall from the bridge as well. The host Rodrigo was very welcoming, incredibly helpful, and went above and beyond.

Ein traumhafter Ort! Wir haben den Aufenthalt hier unglaublich genossen. Die offene Küche ist der Hammer und man findet da wirklich alles, was man braucht. Es ist schon ein besonderes Erlebnis, wenn man am Kochen ist und dann 14 Brüllaffen nebendran in den Bäumen rumturnen, zwei Tukane im Baum daneben sitzen und zwei Aras vorbeifliegen. So ein tolles Erlebnis! Wir fanden es auch super, dass wir die Kajaks nutzen und zum Mangrovenwald paddeln konnten. Die Hausverwalter-Familie war immer sehr hilfreich und freundlich. Einziger kleiner Wermutstropfen war, dass der Eisspender am Kühlschrank nicht ging(oder wir haben nicht verstanden, wie er funktioniert), aber das ist angesichts von all dem Schönen eine absolute Nebensache. Wir wären gern länger geblieben, hatten aber die Weiterreise schon gebucht. Vielen Dank für diese traumhaften Tage!

this is probably the best kept secret on the Osa peninsula. if you are the type of person not looking for opulence but rather peace and tranquility in a more rugged setting than a lodge, this place is for you. there are no walls. therefore, there will be bugs in your house and there will be bats in your house. there are bug nets for the beds though. if you embrace the experience it offers, it's the best place you could go to in Costa Rica.

I had the most amazing time at Dolphin Quest , which I would call paradise on Earth. This place is all about natural living and living in harmony with nature.  The accommodation was super comfortable. The cabins are open and  designed in a way to allow you to connect more closely with nature.  Hearing the sound of the jungle  day and night was one of my favourite things. The property has very special energy to it  and because the place is very remote , you can properly disconnect from the world to recharge yourself or to heal. You have lots of tours to pick from and they are held by the hosts Jahza and Reymar and you will feel very safe with them. They are very communicative, knowledgeable and they really walk their talk.  Apart from being really kind and accommodating hosts , they are also open minded, intelligent individuals, with amazing values. The food I was given was incredibly wholesome, nutritious, and delicious. What more could you want?

Nous étions déjà venu l’année dernière chez François. Notre séjour a ete beau, reposant et magique. Si vous aimez la jungle, la nature et la sensation d’être loin du reste du monde....c'est l'endroit parfait:) Le golfe Dulce est aussi un endroit très spécial....nous avons fait une excursion en bateau avec Osawild pour voir des dauphins....et nous avons eu un moment extraordinaire...Un petit paradis de jungle ou beaucoup d’espèce d’oiseaux et certain singes viennent naturellement sur la propriété.

Paz is a special place and Roberto is a wonderful host. The floor to ceiling screens in the living room/dining room situate you right in the secondary forest. Heaven for nature loving bird nerds. If you’ve spent time on the Osa before, you know Howler monkeys wake you at 4:30am. We watched howler, spider, and squirrel monkeys from bed. The beach is a minute walk. A covered porch with hammocks and chairs to enjoy the beautiful Gulfo Dulce. And a small pool to cool off in (key) and watch Macaws, capuchin monkeys, hermit crabs & the waves. We bought groceries in Puerto Jimenez and cooked most of meals for the week. Kitchen has big fridge, sharp knives, and worked well for us. Marluna Lodge (5 min drive) for Taco Tuesday. Visited local surf breaks and surfed the right point break out front of Paz. Tide dependent. Roberto can help you figure it out. Roberto was very attentive, warm, and helpful. He’s created a beautiful space in a beautiful part of the world.

We absolutely loved our stay here. It was the perfect place to unwind and truly be together as a family. The animal life was incredible. We woke up to monkeys in the morning and playing throughout the day just outside the house. Both john and Oscar were super helpful and friendly. And if you have a chance to have Jackson’s cook- she was incredible. If you’re in for a rustic, full of nature, full family time then this is your place! Also don’t miss out on scheduling a horseback ride with Carlos at finca tropical! It surpassed our expectations and my husband used to guide horseback rides in Colorado. Enjoy the time together and this charming place in Cabo matopalo!

Una casa perfecta para viajar con niños, ya que su piscina es perfecta para que se bañen cuando la marea esta baja en la playa(rocas). Lugar idílico rodeado de monos y en frente de playa pan dulce perfecta ola para surfear con tu longboard. Mas que recomendable!volveremos!

Excellent stay and Amanda is a great host. We loved la Palma and the accommodations are set up perfectly. Being able to use the kayaks and paddle boards in the crystal clear, calm bay was a wonderful perk. Several restaurants within walking distance. The town was a short drive away and had everything you'd need - grocery, gas, mechanic, etc

This was our first time renting an Airbnb in a foreign country, so we were a little nervous. Charles was super helpful and responsive during the whole trip. He gave us great recommendations, scheduled our excursions, and answered all of our questions. The main thing we wanted to do was to go offshore fishing. Charles hooked us up with two great captains (Louis and Donald (Dos Mas), and we had a great day of fishing. The house is located just a very short walk from the pier where you catch the boat. There are also several good restaurants that are within a short walk from the house. We also did an off-road drive and a short hike to the King Louis waterfall, tour of chocolate farm, and went surfing with Keilor (Lakos surf shop in town). We would recommend all of these activities highly. This was a great trip and we had a party of 6 from age 7 to 71. The fishing was amazing.

This is our second time staying at the home. It’s absolutely incredible. The beach is never crowded and right at your doorstep. There’s so much to do from snorkeling to fishing to surfing to hiking. Or you can just lounge and do absolutely nothing, surrounded by the beauty of the jungle. It’s everything you could ask for in a jungle setting. Chicky the caretaker is great, very responsive & super friendly. We will be back again.

If you want to be immersed in nature, in a beautiful setting, enjoying the sound of the ocean and watching the monkeys then this is the place for you. The architecture of the home is stunning. The home is all open, no screens or doors. The netting over the beds were greatly appreciated. The grounds are beautiful and well taken care of. Joel, the property manager was excellent. Communication with Joel was very good, he was friendly and was able to make recommendations for us. Joel took us to the waterfall that was a 20 minute walk from the property. We were there during the rainy season, which we were prepared for; we brought games, books and flashlights. We will definitely return!

We had an amazing stay at Jenn's place in Playa Carbonera, Matapalo. The property is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. Jenn and her family are incredible, warm, kind, and truly welcoming. One of the highlights was surfing right in front of the property at Playa Carbonera. The waves are super fun and accessible, and the view is just breathtaking. I highly recommend waking up early to catch the sunrise, it's on another level. This was such a special experience for us, and we’re 100% coming back!

Amazing host and amazing property ! We had such an incredible time staying here. The wildlife, the sound of the waves, and the walkability to the beach and to Martina’s restaurant were so great. We will definitely be back and highly recommend booking this home!

From my 10 year old… It’s nice because you got to be outside a lot. the beach was awsome, a great part was waking up and walking on the beach at sunrise which was so pretty. The macaws were really cool. It’s kinda scary having it being open and know there are animals out there. (We arrived at night which if you can avoid you should, little hard to navigate the roads for the first time at night) Dad - the nature sounds at night when we arrived were intense and I think kiddo was a little nervous but in the morning all of the nervousness went away. This is a very special place, you are the last house on a very sparsely populated beach (you see nobody for most of the day) there are animals everywhere. It’s very exposed to the elements which might be hard for some but once you settle in you tap into a natural energy that exists in all of us and it is beautiful,

We loved our stay here! Silvina is great and immediately met us upon arrival. The house is super cute and has everything one needs to be comfortable. The beds are comfortable with nice fans to keep cool at night and we enjoyed the complete kitchen to make all of our meals. The outdoor seating area was our favorite spot to hang and have all of our meals. We loved being able to see all of the incredible wildlife right from the house...monkeys, scarlet macaws, tons of birds and more. The beach is right out front and we enjoyed hearing the sounds of the waves in the background. Silvina is a wonderful hostess and makes you feel right at home and welcome. We loved it here and are already looking forward to staying here again on our next trip back down to this special area. Thank you for everything!

Angelica was the best host and this place is our most cherished memory of our last trip in Costa Rica! The deluxe bungalow is a beautiful, very peaceful and very comfortable place. The huge window screens looking into the jungle is magical, the place is very well built with beautiful materials. After trooping around we could regroup for a few days there and it was heaven! We extended our stay because we didn’t want to leave! Angelica is super kind and helpful, she was always available for our questions and had great suggestions and solutions for things we needed. We had the absolute best time! Thank you very much!

Lovely villa in beautiful surroundings and a short walk to the beach (1 min). Cara is a fabulous host. Very proactive, welcoming, readily available and responsive. We had a lovely stay and sad to leave! Thank you Cara!

This place was really incredible. It's off the beaten path, but is a very short wander to the a lightly used beach overlooking the golfito. There wasn't much surf while we were there, but the accessibility to the surf spots was truly amazing. I'll be dreaming about the food at the restaurant down the street for years and just might have to book another trip here just to eat there again. Make sure you have 4 wheel drive if you plan on exploring further towards Corcavado, or book with a tour that will drive you there. The roads are boulders. I do hope it stays that way though because it keeps Carate wild, the way it should be. We appreciated our hosts dedication to reduce-reuse-recycle. It felt right in such a beautiful and wild place, to have conservation in mind at all times. We also enjoyed the boat tour we booked with their neighbor, who purchased a nice boat recently and also does kayak tours. We saw amazing dolphins and he took us to a great snorkeling spot.

Die Unterkunft ist ein Traum! Wenn du Costa Rica mit seiner Tier- und Pflanzenwelt abseits der Touristenpfade erleben willst, dann ist das für dich der Platz. Zusätzlich gibt es einen wunderschönen Privatstrand und tolle Tipps von Michelle und Eddy. Schade, dass wir nur vier Tage gebucht haben!
