Just back from renting Beechwood House for my daughters 40th. 16 of us had an amazing time, the house is well equipped with everything you could need to have a great time! Beds and bedrooms all very tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The grounds and surrounding area are beautiful for country walks etc and centre of Moffat less than 10 mins walk away. Nick was a fantastic host, a few minor hiccups were sorted immediately 🙌 We were sorry to leave! Thanks again Nick. June, Sara and gang

The location was just what I wanted and the prime reason for selecting Susan's place. In addition I found a wonderfully warm welcome, a large comfy room with en suite, very filling breakfasts and a cosy pub within easy walking distance. Being invited to share Susan's log fire in the evenings was a great bonus for a November stay. All in all a lovely stay, thank you Susan.

We were cycling through the Lake District with a friend - couldn’t have picked a better spot to stay for the night. Susan gave us all the info & contacts in advance, kindly greeting us with tea upon arrival. Moreover, we could pop our soaking wet clothes in the wash & dryer (a real lifesaver) plus store our bikes safely, entertained by kittens meanwhile. The mansion is in an idyllic setting, full of charm. We could hang out in the grand living room, but our room was spacious too, had everything we needed, while the bathroom was easily accessible. Susan & Peter were welcoming, we had interesting conversations over breakfast, got some tips too. Felt quite privileged, to be served with food freshly cooked on a traditional range cooker and served on pre-warmed plates from a hostess trolley. Peering out into the garden, a pheasant came by too and we got some home-made jam & takeaway apples. Thank you so much for a pleasant stay, I wholeheartedly recommend this mansion & our kind hosts.

We had a brilliant stay here as a group of 11 in the lodges and main church building. We spent 3 night but easily could have stayed longer. The lodges were beautiful and peaceful and we woke up to birds singing and views of the trees outside. The church bedrooms were warm and comfortable and it was amazing sitting inside all together with the real log burner in the upstairs living room. Adam was very responsive with the only minor issue we had and the venue had everything we needed for a great time. The bar area with loads of records and sound system was particularly fun and it was really special that the freezer was stocked with ice when we arrived. Thank you so much for having us!

What a brilliant weekend! The house was perfect for our family get together. Great that all bedrooms had their own bathroom. The views from the house were incredible and the well stocked kitchen made it easy to make a family meal together. Our weekend turned out to be more special than I imagined with a surprise proposal and I’ll have the fondest memories of this beautiful house forever. Thank you to Laura for being so kind and thoughtful! Would recommend to everyone for a peaceful, relaxing stay by the water.
